They are knowledge and genuinely like how neat all the stuff is. They are extremely personable. There is the barn filled with furniture, larger antiques and trinkets and the house building that has some really cool antiques throughout. I once saw a JFK campaign hat! The prices are fair and they are also willing to negotiate with you. Every time I've gone in as well there is new stuff which I think speaks for the amount of consigners in the area. The property itself it pretty beautiful too. While I wish I could keep this place a secret, they deserve the business. I am so disappointed in this store. In my entire life I have never visited a luxury clothing store…read morethat was this poorly run. I think that all of the recent positive reviews that mention the service both here and on Google must have been written by the staff because they all have like two reviews and are obviously either fake accounts or friends of staff. It's a bit weird that they all mention somebody's name as if they were asked to write the review. In reality, this entire place operates as a store that does not respect its customers. The staff have a really bad attitude and seem like they don't want to be there. The one woman Evangeline who I thought was probably a new hire still learning how to do her job turns out to be the MANAGER. Can you imagine? No wonder this place is such a mess. I watched her roll her eyes for having to show a watch to an elderly woman of color, and then afterwards she whined about wanting to go home like a spoiled kid at school. The other staff were very unhelpful and miserable as well. None of them seem to know anything about what they're selling because I asked some basic questions which nobody could answer for some reason. Also, as some other reviewers have mentioned, the prices are not as good as they seem online. Some of the items are stained or torn but still sell ridiculously high for what they're worth. I'm fairly sure I saw a few fakes here as well. You have to really dig to find anything that's worth the price, but once you finally find something decent you start to question why you're even there in the first place. If you can afford these clothes, do yourself a favor and get them somewhere else. Especially if you are a person of color, because security will follow you around the store and the employees will treat you like a thief.

I have a special love for this place because every Saturday during the summer, they put out a beautiful lemonade stand (designed by the talented owners Lori & Trish) and give all the profits to different charities! They even do a call for local kids to run the lemonade stand - a terrific way to introduce the volunteering bug to kids. My own boys were thrilled to help raise funds for Make-a-Wish. Hip-Kid also does cute kids' parties and runs classes like dance, paint, and STEAM science. I heart this place because it *has* heart. A wonderful store with so much more than meets the eye.
