We had come to this restaurant a couple of years ago and had a decent time. We came again and was shocked at the price we were charged. We each ended up paying more than $80 USD. Given the abundance of great steak houses in Hermosillo, it's incredible that this restaurant would cost this much. They took a rather deceptive approach in there menu charging per weight and their up-charging approach in billing; taking advantage of tourists is deplorable. Never coming back. read more

I was visiting Hermosillo for a short while for business relations. You must know that Hermosillo Mexico it is known for their meats and steaks more so like in the case of Texas USA. While being there I was looking for a steak house and found PALOMINOS. I was NOT disappointed at all. I ordered a 400mg Ribeye steak and it was super tasty. The service it as on point also. I was craving a mezcal cocktail and the server recommended me one (I forgot the name of it) and it was super. The atmosphere is super cozy and family friendly. Where can I start? This was my second visit and this time the experience, food, and service was superior. We went with the recommendation of having a Tomahawk steak. This was a Tomahawk steak! Honestly, the best part about this experience was the raspberry cheesecake, even though the menu advertised it only as "cheesecake." The ribs on the meat platter were pretty dry and overcooked, the hanger steak under-seared, and the sirloin strips overcooked. At least the hanger came out medium-rare, which is how I ordered it. The accompanying salad was a tad simple for my taste, but at least the tomatoes were fresh. The cilantro sauce on the chicken dish left much to be desired. The service was fast and friendly and the ambiance is very nice, which is why I'm willing to leave at least three stars. I've just been to far better steakhouses. That said, this place is very reasonably priced. read more

Came to Hermosillo on business and this restaurant was right next to my hotel. Price advertised in the menu was 325 Mexican pesos for a ribeye steak. When me and my coworkers went to pay it was around 1600 mexican pesos each. Apparently there was a small print where it said the price is based on a 100 gram steak and ours was 450 grams but we didn't see that till they brought the bill. Regardless we paid and tipped but those are terrible business practices to advertise 325 MX pesos which is still more than most foods here yet the price always comes out to more and patrons can hardly tell until it's too late. PS. 4 of us ordered the ribeye and we all left dissatisfied. They should advertise the actual price instead of one that has to be calculated by weight while also making the print bigger where it says that there price is based off 100 grams. Never coming here and i suggest you all just find another steak house. There is plenty in Hermosillo that don't have these same practices. My bill came out to $101 USD after tip. Great steak. Although Sonora is well known for steak Palominos has many prime cuts and excellent grilling. They will prepare individual dishes but what I like here is the steak for the table. Multiple similar cuts or several different cuts. Each dinner has the choice. When most groups have big and small appetites this "family style" normally levels out everyone's desire. I don't know why you would have room for dessert but if you do they have a number of excellent choices. read more
