When you create a restaurant, I always tend to look at the wow factor. This little cafe is in a middle of products and plants and the whole scene is beautiful don't get me wrong ! But when we got the food, all I can say is.... Flavor is lacking. I had a chicken burger, the others had the following: - Spanish omelet - corn fritters - risotto - pie of the day - salmon and eggs Benedict Let's start with the chicken burger, in all honesty I felt like I could make it myself at home, it's not something to go for it's really just been marinating in herbs, Olive oil and garlic. What this chickens missing is a nice chutney or even mayo it needs that creaminess or punch to give it flavors and life. I can say the same thing to the Spanish omelet and the risotto. The risotto was nice and creamy but it was missing punch too Now... When you put on a menu corn fritters in front of Asians (not being racists). We usually think crunchy corn fritters not pancake style and I think that's where the menu was missing. Pie of the day was apparently good, the pie of the day was steak Service was a bit slow and busy. we had to look at someone for 5 mins before we were asked if we needed a seat/ how many people I don't do this to bash the cafe or restaurants.. As you know I like honesty :) and if you're going to pay for food... As you walk into the new Palmers Planet store in Albany, you realize you've walked into a magic shop. This outdoor living store caters to all your indoor and outdoor living needs. Plus it is a good place to enjoy a cup of coffee. The entrance area is a kaleidoscope of colours, with floral arrangements, cushions and couches presenting themselves as a feast for the eyes. Obviously the services of a store designer were used, as this place is laid out to please. From now on this will be my one stop shop for all gift-buying purposes. There are kitchen goodies, food, magazines, flowers and tools. Male, female, young and old... This is the place. read more

We went there for a Sunday brunch with our toddler. The plants and flowers are very nice but the cafe was less than desirable. They proudly display that they are allergy friendly on their menus but when I asked them for advice on what was dairy and egg free they could not give an answer. This is from asking three wait staff, manager , head chef and line cooks as well. We had the botannix grill and eggs benedict. Both soggy and a bit sad looking. Not looking to go back to the cafe but the plants are ok. read more

Lovely shop for browsing, and nice assortment of plants, garden statuary and essentials. However I would say AVOID the cafe on a weekend - service is extremely slow and food only OK despite the price. Thus I enjoy the shop environment, and browse to my hearts content....with the occasional purchase....but will not ea there again. read more
