I can't imagine that anyone with a sweet tooth couldn't find at least a little something to take their fancy. I went in for a can of soda - and was so pleased to see they had a reasonable array of American cans. We got a couple flavoured Mountain Dews and some Cherry Pepsi. At 12DKK per can, we were pleased with the price as it's imported. The man behind the counter was polite, and the store seemed clean and well laid out.

This place has a huge selection of American sodas in additon to some American candy and of course your typical offerings of Marabou, Milka, and Haribo seen on most Danish supermarket shelves. I was surprised to see Jones Soda and aloe water being offered as well. Diabetic? Celiac? Vegetarian? There are sugar-free, gluten-free, or gelatin-free gummy candies that are sold by weight. I also noted that the chocolate bar prices are even lower than some discount chains, though that may be an opening special. It's definitely worth checking out, but maybe not right after school gets out since it is crawling with hyper kids that annoy the employees.

They're still making these candies the same way that they did back then - entirely by hand. Other than an electric heater that helps keep the raw candy "dough" warm enough to work, nothing has changed in a century. It's a small shop, so our tour group didn't stay long. Just long enough to watch them turning and folding the candy, then cutting it into bits to be wrapped. We got a free sample too, which was pretty neat. The candy is very pretty and comes in a few dozen different flavors. Certainly any gift of this you bring back to home will be appreciated. Delish!

Oh boy were these so delicious! They let you sample anything you want. Scandinavia takes their black licorice very serious! I bought a ton and almost put my luggage overweight. Found out they sell them on Amazon and eBay so I ordered a ton more when I got back to the states. These take a while to get used to but after a while they start to become an addiction. :-)

The open store in Magasin Du Nord is great as well, with the interior mathing the smooth Lakrids design, and with the sellers being openly passionate about theire product, which they will gladly let you taste before bringing anything home. Number one: it's a mix your own candy shop (best ones EVER) Number two: they have all my personal favorite candy. Number three: they have all the unhealthy drinks you can think of. Number four: they have a super good selection of chips, flavors you can not get in the normal grocery stores. Number 5: If you do not like to mix your own candy, do they have the best selection of American sweets, not to be found elsewhere in Denmark. Number six: very friendly service. Number 7 which is the best: it's cheap. It can make one's day better when you bike by and see that they have a birthday or other event and their candy is extra reduced. There, I feel it is my own birthday. The only negative I have to say is that everyone else on Nørrebro have found out how good this candy store is, so there is always a fairly good line. But fortunately they are quick to handle the customers.
