There's a better-than-Foodland selection of meat and seafood. Their prices are pretty competitive. It's a tad more expensive, but hardly noticeable. The superior selection of marinated and prepared stuff in particular makes up for any difference.
This butcher is hidden in a quiet part of the North Adelaide Village, near the entrance to the first story parking lot. If you park below you miss them.
It's got a nice butcher shop tiled-walls character to it and the butcher is knowledgeable and friendly. He doesn't use a cash register or a calculator for addition so RESPECT!
Getting a little off topic, I would never have expected to find perogies (Eastern European dumplings) here!!! This is the first time I've had perogies since leaving Vancouver two years ago. If you've never had perogies, I highly recommend trying them. Make doubly sure to accompany with fried onions and sour cream. Palmdale sells them for $20 per kilo ($15 a kilo more than I'm used to. OK this is expensive, but their meat is better priced.), but it might be worth it for the novelty. And getting even more off topic, according to Wikipedia the Canadian perogy market is second only to the United States, which has 10x the population. Soooo Canadian per capita perogy consumption is off the charts!! read more
