Sandy SoTa neighborhood park with a playground, fenced field, and fenced in dog park. Nice kiddos and dogs. Water hose. Shade trees and picnic benches. On a quiet residential street. Sophialatke approved. She made some new friends and so did we. A bit dirty though like a giant sand / dirt box

Nice local park in far south Tampa…read more I came here with my daughter and my dog. We followed the Google map directions, and we ended up parking just about as far away from the dog park as one can park (if you don't want to circumnavigate the lake, enter the Interbay Little League area off MacDill, and follow the signs to the dog run parking lot). There's a well-kept, paved path around the lake, and there are a few benches here and there to rest and look at the water. The path is not shaded, so be forewarned. The dog park is pretty nice. There are three fenced areas: one for small dogs, one for regular dogs, and one that is for more aggressive dogs. We went into the largest area, which had dogs of all sizes, but all the dogs were good natured. My pup loved running around with all the friendly dogs. The area seemed pretty clean (there are dog bag dispensers and trashcans strategically placed around the area, and owners seemed conscientious.) there was a doggie water fountain, which was a nice touch. There were muddy areas, but who doesn't expect to have to bathe your dog after going to the dog park? There were a few picnic tables for the owners to use, and there were some trees for shade.

This is a really nice park with a paved, concrete trail that goes around the lake. The park backs…read moreup into MacDill Air Force Base so it's easy tp find. Along the trail, there are benches to sit, relax, and look at the water. There was an equal balance between shaded areas and being in full sun. There are little workout stations there too and a nice dog park. I saw some interesting wildlife the day that I went. There were a lot of dragonflies just fluttering around. I also saw some pretty, bold squirrels, too. The dogs enjoyed chasing the squirrels up the tree and the squirrels seem to enjoy taunting the dogs. I saw families with little ones, small groups, and individuals walking, jogging, and biking. They stayed a safe distance from one another so that we could all comfortable enjoy the day. This is a great little neighborhood park! I will definitely return.

I've been coming here consistently since July 2023, usually 4 to 6 days a week every single week,…read moreso this place has genuinely been a huge part of my routine and community. My Google review from a year ago gave this place five stars because it truly felt like an amazing space built around dogs, community, and responsible ownership. Looking back at that review now honestly makes the decline even more disappointing, because even just a year ago this place felt completely different in the best way. This place is supposed to be a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs and the people who love them. For many members, our dogs are family, and that's why the recent direction of the business has become genuinely heartbreaking and honestly alarming to watch. A growing number of members are becoming deeply uncomfortable with the decision to repeatedly host large rave-style events at a facility specifically designed for dogs. After previous events, there were already serious concerns about the condition of the property afterward, even after professional cleaning crews had supposedly finished. Members and staff still found debris throughout the space and parking lot and many people are now questioning whether any environment used for late-night parties like this can realistically ever be cleaned well enough to guarantee dogs are safe there afterward. Dogs spend their entire time at this facility with their noses on the ground, sniffing turf, licking surfaces, and putting things in their mouths. That is exactly what dogs do. The idea that dangerous substances, residue, pills, or other hazardous materials could potentially be missed during cleanup is terrifying for pet owners. One mistake could have DEVASTATING consequences for someone's dog. The best comparison I can make is this: imagine if a daycare hosted large rave parties at night and then told parents the next morning that everything had been cleaned and was safe again. Most parents would never feel comfortable with that. That is exactly how many dog owners are starting to feel here. What made this weekend especially upsetting was learning that the business was supposed to reopen after the latest event, only for members to then receive notice that the facility would remain closed due to cleanup issues, with uncertainty about reopening even the next day. That only reinforced concerns that these events are creating problems far beyond a normal private party. At the same time, members continue paying premium annual fees while receiving reduced operating hours, less access, ongoing inventory problems at the bar, and repeated closures tied to outside events. Many people joined because this was marketed as a community-centered space focused on dogs, safety and responsible ownership. Lately, it feels like those priorities are no longer coming first. I know several members who are already questioning whether they will renew their memberships because trust in the safety and direction of the business is starting to disappear.
