Nightmare Experience Palm Industries will ask that you sign an agreement to have insurance payments drafted as two party checks. DO NOT AGREE Pay them only as they perform. Check your invoice. They billed water vapor material into mitigation to sink another hook into nailing down the project then they walked off the job after their own employee failed to schedule an electrician taking 100% of proceeds plus the profit they didn't earn! Our job began in May, my house is unfinished... (Palm Industries is not licensed to perform electrical or plumbing work and no licensed contractors employed by Palm Industries.) This is a major issue Hire a real contractor not a carpet cleaner posing as a construction firm. Palms work was absolutely horrible. They damaged my home. Hired paintcontractor that didn't have a license in Brooking , their contractors license had restriction for no employees ( he used his unskilled adolescents) I had to ask for my cabinets to be cover 3 or 4 before it actually was done. ( paint dripped everywhere) They also got paint all over my carpets. They nailed my pocket door shut . Who puts trim on pocket door with long nails. The put mismatch trim on my cabinets. They wanted to charge for work they had not even done. I fired them, they did so much damage. I had to do so much of their work myself . I found them to be dishonest, overpriced, not qualified to preform work. I would never use this company again. They should go back to carpet cleaning. read more

I need to address your response to my experience with your business. You said that I did my review for profit or to defame you. Your company failed to secure my house, so the bad guys put a ladder in my bathroom through the ceiling and walked in and out of here all day, long with everything I cherished and loved and collected my entire life. I lost so many things and I was not reimbursed for anything that happened during any robberies and I was being robbed for two weeks before your guys finally got my stuff out. I walked in the house one day and saw about 10 of my totes filled with my possessions already to go out through the roof at night so I went to find your employees they were in the back bedroom. Someone was steam cleaning, something and three guys were looking at them and they were actually doing nothing but four of them were doing it. I am only speaking about my experience with Palm Industries. Others may have had a much better experience than I did, but I would never recommend them, and I certainly made no money. I lost so much money because your men allowed everything I loved to be stolen out the roof of my house. I would think the number one priority is secure the house so people can't rob the person blind. It is so horrible to have your house burned and then Everything that you have owned and treasured is being stolen from me on a daily basis . It's heartbreaking and that was my experience . If it were my business, I would make sure that the house is secure. The very first thing I would look at it thoroughly if I had to build some walls to keep it secure whatever had to be done I would not have let my clients lose all their possessions to thievery when you had the ability and were paid to secure the house .Had someone had just come in the first day and closed down, & could see there was no roof and fixed that I'd still have my beloved objects that I've had forever and I'm old. I had a lot of good things and so many tools taken. it's probably good that this happened. This way I used to own a lot of material possessions but after the fire and the theft, there won't be much for my heirs to sift through. The day I saw four of your guys well actually three of your guys watching one guy who was power washing something I couldn't tell what was going on, but it was a day that all those totes were packed I only pray that your men saw those packed totes and put them in the truck. I have very little furniture, so I don't know how it could've taken five days to take my stuff out and another thing I'm curious about is all my furniture had at least half inch maybe three-quarter inch glass over the top surface of all of my beautiful bedroom set, and the other bedroom set as well . Well, none of that glass was saved and given to me, I could've covered up my new furniture with my glass instead of spending hundreds of dollars to replace it . That glass cost a fortune what did you do with my glass? I wish you would just bring it back now . Hopefully, God willing , I will never be in the position of needing your service again .I do hope you do well. But another bad thing I didn't like is you took many clothes that were hanging in my instead of hanging them back on their hangers, after you washed them you shoved them in boxes which means I have 50 boxes of unironed clothes that were shoved in boxes .. I would think what goes out on a hanger would come back on a hanger after it had been washed and nothing was ironed then shoved in boxes . I could go on and on it was just a hideous situation. I think you guys were newly to the business maybe you didn't know what you were doing I was so emotionally upset by watching my house on fire . I couldn't even appear when people were there except that day that I saw the guys doing nothing . Actually, one man was power washing and three men were doing nothing but watch him so basically four men were doing nothing with my house filled with totes that are filled by bad guys ready to be taken out of my house. I just only pray that your guys spotted the totes and took them out . I'm saving the best for last . You left all of my unsalvageable, furniture and possessions. You labeled them un -salvageable, and you filled up my back bedroom, my sunroom and my garage with all those items and I was left to move in with all that stuff that had never been taken away And your guys were tricky they unloaded all my possessions on the patio and then drove away with the truck so it was impossible to remove all my unsalvageable's from my home so I had to pay hundreds of dollars to have things removed that you should've taken.Yes I'm afraid I've never felt more disappointed in a business that I've done business with in my entire life I'm really not trying to badmouth you. I'm just talking about my experience and it wasn't good. if your business put half the time into securing my house as you had responding to my review of your business. Our home suffered water damages, which Palm Industries was able to mitigate; however, we made the mistake of hiring them as General Contractors to complete repairs, a decision we regretted. This review specifically addresses their role as General Contractor. Their project manager Sean McKinney was disorganized, slow, and promised fixes and deadlines that he could not keep, even hiring subcontractors (ie painter OKD) who were sub-par and unlicensed to work in the city of Brookings, OR. Andrew Myers, the owner of Palm Industries, then took over, but any attempts at repairs induced further damages. At long last, we fired Palm Industries, and we completed the project on our own. When it came time to reconcile final billing, Palm Industries tried to charge us for line items they did not complete. We documented everything, and they ultimately conceded to us, because we had proof of their deceit. I encourage all customers to document every interaction in writing, and when possible, photograph and video record everything that is done and not done as proof of work. Do not trust this company to fulfill tasks on verbal promises alone. They will overcharge and attempt to deceive insurance companies and customers, alike. BUYER BEWARE. read more

A few weeks back we called Palm Industries to have our carpets cleaned. I was impressed with them coming out and giving us a fairly reasonable estimate. I talked with Jamie on how we moved our furniture to prevent damage to our hardwood floors, what needed to be moved and what they could clean around. A date was scheduled. The cleaner was prompt and on time, but not too concerned about the method that we moved our furniture. He was not concerned about putting the foam protectors under the furniture,he said he used them only if the furniture bleeds. ( I have always had it used in my past cleanings...I would think if you have flat furniture on wet floor, you would have problems with mildew and smell..but what do I know??) The employee did a good job on the carpet...but it was like a bull in a china shop...it must of been a off day for him. He didn't use any foam under my furniture, He scratched my hardwood with his moving techniques. He failed to move furniture back ..leaving it for us to do. Even tho I can not make a honest connection..downstairs electrical probems occurred downstairs due to issues..resulting in replacement of equiptment. A good job was done. He did apologize for the hardwood damage and took ownership, I didn't talk to anyone about the electrical issue. Palm Industries have been working with me for the damage to the floor...but again it should not have happen...esp. when the client expresses their concern about the flooring....I haven't paid the bill yet, I KEEP LOOKING AT IT AND MY HARDWOOD. I know they said they will fix it to my satisfaction, but just staining it...or perhaps if we have extra flooring pieces...replace the scratched area. A person named Gabe came out to give an estimate. He is very brash, and I felt cheated. I asked about the 15% senior discount, he said they don't give 15% only 10% which I got after I asked. He did further measuring and charged me more money. He is a rip off artist. The people who came to do the work, did fine, but had to use some of my equipment because the company didn't have enough. On a scale of 1-10, this company deserves a 20! While trying to settle my dad's estate down in Brookings, a hot water pipe broke and flooded his house. Andrew and this company did an amazing job in restoring my father's house it was a lot of work! I was feeling extremely overwhelmed, but they really helped to relieve all the stress and worry during the whole process from the very beginning and through to the end! All of the folks at Palm Industries were so wonderful to work with. Andrew, Jessica, Joey, Tony and the rest really know their stuff! I love doing business with a locally owned company. In the end, I am happy with the floor and the installers did a bang up job. As a small business I think they are trying to do too much too fast. The lack of communication from office and management to workers was on-going. The communication that did take place frequently interrupted the work project. The number of phone calls coming from the "office" on some days was stunning. The project started a day late and ended on time however my price went up by about 400 dollars. The process was explained to me in terms of prepping floors etc. but what was not included in the explanation was that there would be additional charges added on to the prep process. Now, I understand that some projects get more complex but I was told that prepping the floor was part of the process included in the quote. I understand if I need to pay for additional materials to be purchased , the job was completed on time and people took their breaks so I think the cost increase was a bit opportunistic on the part of management. As a result I came to feel mistrustful towards the job manager who seemed to be adding to my cost every couple of days. The team was in a terrible rush all the time and some of them left then had to come back several times to finish the job. They usually started mid morning and left by 3-4:00 PM which seemed like a short work day and I was surprised they finished on time. The house was completely torn apart and in the end I spent 4 nights away from home while it was being completed. They sent a cleaning crew when the project was done and once again, the lack of communication and training was evident. The whole house was covered in a fine dust, windows, walls ... everything. There were spatters on walls and doors from the floor prep. I spent the weekend cleaning and still there was lots left to do. The cleaning crew came in and cleaned as if they were cleaning a typical house they go to every week, not a house that had just gone through a major construction project. If Palm is going to bother with a cleaning crew they need to train their people for handling major projects such as that one. I had just had 6 weeks working with varied professional contractors and I must admit, I had expectations of ongoing professional interactions with Palm. I lived in a house that was torn apart for 6 weeks. I was used to contractors that communicated well, showed up on time and worked a full day. They had phone calls as well but not to the extent of the Palm employees. I think this will be a great company when they get their communication, training and professionalism prioritized. I wish someone had told me about this. I still would have had Palm install my floors, I just would have known what to expect. Some of the Palm employees are good communicators and respectful however, at times I think their hands were tied by their manager. read more

The property management company I go through utilized this company and they do not perform the services that they claim. They were suppose to rake, vacuum, and clean the carpets at the residence we moved into (the tenants prior to us had a few in-door dogs). After they cleaned the carpets there was a terrible smell in the residence. The property management company asked them to go back and clean again, so, they claimed they raked, vacuumed, and cleaned the carpets again. The smell was still terrible. After that my wife and I vacuumed the carpets just one time and pulled out 3 large canisters of dog fur. After the initial vacuuming our vacuum pulled up minimal fur. This positively shows they never vacuumed or raked the carpets even once! The reason for the terrible smell was that they were running steam and water through their cleaner over fur resulting in wet fur in our carpets. I called their business to complain and the lady on the phone argued with me stating that she knows that they vacuumed and raked the carpets because they always do. I explained how the fur was infested in the carpets and she still refused to listen to reason and she was very rude. I left several messages for the owner to call me back; however, he just ignored my messages and never returned my phone calls. My wife and I rented a carpet cleaner and the carpets were disgusting. The water was so dirty that it looked like black coffee. They performed a terrible service. Use another company. read more
