If I could give less than 1 start I would…read more I took my 10 year old Lenovo laptop in to have the fan replaced. The machine was booting fine before that. I got the, we'll call you when it's ready, don't call us line. What away of doing business. I stopped in each week for 4 weeks and it still was not ready. Guy who worked on it told receptionist he was waiting for something to dry. He must have been talking about component paste. I started raising an issue about the number of weeks for a 15 minute job and what the check was the tech waiting to dry. Component paste doesn't need dry time. I waited 3 more days to pick up the machine. Got it home, booted it up and it would not boot. Never even made it to the Windows login dialog (oh yeah and they wanted my password too. if you give them a machine with sensitive data, you don't want to give them your password). Took it back. Told them no one ever tested the machine, oh yes we tested it. No way they could have tested otherwise they would have seen no login dialog. Another week. Went in. Receptionist told me she spent a lot of time researching this and this is a known issue with the motherboard. WHAT A BUNCH OF B.S. This machine worked fine until I took it to these people for 10 years. Never a problem until Computer Guys mismanaged and broke it. Handed me two disks where they took my data off. What modern computer has a disk drive any more. Listen I've worked in the IT industry for 30 years. I didn't do this job myself because I am already busy. I just wanted someone to fix the fan. A job of 15 minutes. $50 / per 15 minutes is pretty good rate. Better than my rate per hour. Only to have them completely bastardize my machine. These people don't know what they are doing in terms of business nor fixing your machine. Be ware.
