The way that the staff treat clients in this location is disgusting. I've never experienced such entitled behavior from a business before. To the point of wanting to know the name of a staff member and her refusing to tell me because she knows that I will be making a complaint about her behavior. Horrible place. Broke out in a rash. I went to the dermatologist and the doctor asked if I had been in a tanning bed. He said he sees this type of bacterial infection a lot from unclean tanning beds. The prices are also outrageous for the minimal time they allow you to tan. I love how happy the girls here are. It feels like they actually enjoy their jobs. I can typically get in and out of here in pretty quick time - which I love. I've also used a few of the other local PBTs and even used my membership in So. Cal. Really enjoy how clean everything is as well. I can't walk through the door without being solicited to purchase additional products/services but when I ask for info or clarification, there doesn't seem to be any consistency in the information offered and I am often offered shrugs as answers. This evening I went in to tan. Upon checking in the woman notified me this month's bill didn't process through. My wife received a new card and she wasn't available to update the info. So I asked if I could tan tonight and return tomorrow with the updated payment info. I was told no. I asked the cost for a single session tan for eight minutes. She stated $25.00. Seriously? We have been going to PBT for the past four or five months with no issues. It's ridiculous that they can't accommodate faithful customers. I was even more disappointed with the lack of empathy by the two women working the front. It was apparent they weren't concerned with my obvious frustration. If staff can't be more empathetic and understanding there is no need to continue patronizing this business. Furthermore, dont tell me you cant help then go back to looking at your cellphone. We will not be renewing our membership stemming from poor service and overall lack of professionalism. read more

Well, I came to the Palm Beach Tan on Eagle and Pine tonight. There was one girl working alone and was trying to take care of a customer who was getting a spray tan....I said I would wait as it wasn't a big deal for me....15 minutes later the employee came to the counter and I told her I wanted the gold upgrade for the advertised price of $5. She said she couldn't do it and the price would be $7. Yeah, it's only two bucks, but I had been waiting 20 minutes by this time and wasn't happy. I ultimately did the usual silver bed and left after 20 minutes. The employee was courteous, but really should have had the freedom to comp me the Gold tan...she offered to call her Manager but by that time there were 3 people behind me and I didn't want them to have to wait. Ugh....a waste of my time and wondering why the discount wasn't in your system?? read more

I started my membership at the one on Eagle Rd. The girls there have been super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. Their hours are fantastic, very easy to work around your work schedule. They do get quite busy around 4-7 on week days. The weekends are hit or miss. I have been to the one in The Axiom Gym on Overland but it is much smaller and does not have a level 4 bed. I am told the one by BSU has the best level 3 beds by one of the girls at the Eagle rd. location. They don't require a contract and you can freeze or cancel your membership at anytime. A Definite plus! The price is a bit more than I am used to but over all I am pretty happy with this tanning salon. read more

Reading the reviews compelled me to add my own. The people that work here have always been kind, courteous, friendly, never snotty or rude. They are so helpful and have explained the mystic tanner to me a million times (I always forget what to do), yet every time they do it with a smile. Yes, they try to up-sell you on add-ons, you don't have to buy what they offer, they aren't pushy. Don't not go to this location because of the bad reviews, try them out and decide. I get the mystic tan couple of times a year for special occasions and it's very inconsistent. Sometimes it's really good and other times it looks horrible or it doesn't tan at all so I have to go back and re do it. Like right now.. Very frustrating!! The beds are great & give you excellent color, my problem is with the staff. I'm not sure if they are paid solely on commission from tanning lotion, but I am blown away with how pushy they are every. single. time. I go in. It's pretty rude. Every time I go in and simply ask to tan, they spend several minutes trying to sell me different lotions, for my face, my legs, different times of the year, etc. I order my lotion online, so I have told them, "I'm covered, thank you," and they have legitimately asked me to get it out of my purse to prove to them I have it, only to try and sell me a better one. One girl told me to cancel my online order so she could sell the same lotion to me. It's uncomfortable to go in there, and I wish I would have signed a contact somewhere else. read more

I have been using PBT at both locations in Meridian for about 2 years. I had posted about the obnoxious staff at the Axiom location, they have been replaced with much nicer people. After about 2 years, I will be ending my use of PBT. Here is why. I simply wish to go, spray and leave. I do not wish to be subjected to the endless sales pitches that the staff is forced to make. It is likely that the staff is commissioned based on the sales of the endless array of useless products. As such, they are forced to annoy me with their sales pitch. I do not need the hassle, I want to be left alone. I asked one of the staff why the pressure to sell. She said, that they must make a specific number of sales or they will be terminated. She said it is not "official" but others told her if she did not, she will be fired. Further, I have written to the "corporate" email address that is so often portrayed here, no one ever responds. I believe "Penelope" is a script that responds to reviews. I have attempted to contact the owner of the local store, I have found that is not possible. The owners hides behind the staff and "Penelope". I would suggest you find an alternative to PBT in Meridian ID. Lastly.... Let's see if "Penelope" responds. I called for prices and was told it's told complicated to discuss over the phone. I asked for a general idea told the same thing. Not thrilled. Came into the store to purchase a tan. I waited while she was assisting the customer before me. Once I reached the counter, I was told the girl was going to check in several others that got into line after me as it takes a while to enter my information since I'm a new customer. Um not cool! More customers had gathered in line while she was checking those customers in!!! Started getting rather frustrated! And $25 for someone only doing 8 minutes in a level 3 bed is insane! The girl wasn't very knowledgeable about the beds or prices but did offer me a courtesy tan which alleviated my aggravation some and the only reason for 2 stars. read more

I have the mystic package here and really love it. Great price for a month of unlimited mystic tans. My only complaint is that the floor doesn't always seem mopped and can sometimes be a little icky when you are in the mystic room barefoot and changing. Other than that it's great! read more

If you spray tan an the Eagle Rd or Axiom gym location you should be aware. For whatever reason, the spray system leaves about 1/3 of the solution in the container. If you pay extra for specific items, 1/3 of you money is being wasted. This has been brought to the attention of district management, 3 weeks ago. They are slow to help. a lot of times they seem to be standing around until you get there and then they will go and clean the bed. A couple times I was sent to beds that had not been wiped down and a towel was laying on the floor because it had not been cleaned yet. And then the kicker was when I canceled my membership which went through the end of the month they told me I could upgrade my plan for the next 45 days for $45 extra but my membership only went for 30 more days and I asked the girl how that works and she said it would still be good for the 45 days even though my membership ended in 30 days but the fact that she didn't seem like she totally believed herself made me ask a different girl the next time I went in and she verified the same thing because I would not have paid for a 45 day upgrade if I only had 30 days left. And when I went in to tan again after my membership was expired but before my 45 days was expired the girl with attitude told me I had already canceled my account and you cannot tan without an account I told her what the other two girls told me and she said she's sorry they told me that but it's not true and you cannot tan without an account then she proceeded to tell me that it didn't matter because I used it last month and I've already got my moneys worth out of it read more

Hey guys, both your salons: Terrace way and Eagle are awesome. Great personnel, and they always greet you with a smile and refer to you by first name. Always feels great to come. I managed a health club for 4 years in California and we greeted all of our members by first name. Even gave some of them nicknames, LOL. It made them feel like it was the best thing they did all day. I have two gym memberships 1 at Golds in meridian off Eagle, and of course Axiom. They need to consult with you guys on how to treat members when they come in. I'm sure they are great wonderful individuals, but no where do they even come close to you guys.
