If you live/work close by they have some good services. My issues were their hours, which did not work well with my schedule once I moved 30 minutes away (sometimes longer with traffic), and as such it was not convenient at all to go there. Also, I find the restrictions on tanning beds (it can't be less than 24 hours exactly) between sessions as opposed with only being able to do it once per calendar day to bean issue. read more

I went in to do a single session, as the website states you can. One of the girls seemed to be trying to help me but the other one kept insisting I cannot do a single session, only a membership. I told them I'm not local and the girl insisted I get the membership and freeze it over and over again to just do one session. I told them again I'm not local and I would never use it. At least the one that was actually trying to help me showed me the salon and all the different spray tans/beds etc and provided customer service. The one talking over her insisting I was not welcome without the membership needs to work on herself or urge corporate to take down the option on the website if you really are not allowed to do a single session. Very dated location. Spray tan would stop working half way through tan. The current manager always tries to upsell you on items when you check in. Annoying that you have to tell him NO 10x before he lets you go tan. Not everyone wants to be pressured into buying an item before every tanning session! I actually dread interacting with him. He doesn't known company policies and makes up rules as he goes. While waiting in line to check in, I've seen many upset customers end up walking out in frustration after dealing with him. One thing that has personally bothered me is that he hides benefits associated with certain level memberships and doesn't give any courtesy heads up when you have TanDollars (store credit) on your account. I told him one of the other girls working there told me about the benefits that I have with my membership and asked why he has never mentioned such details. He said "she wasn't supposed to tell you that." Super shady as I never saw that nice girl again. He doesn't understand how to interact with customers and I avoid this location as much as possible because of him. I canceled my membership at Palm Beach Tan and was charged for two additional months. I know I canceled before the billing period by several weeks, yet they continued to charge my CC. When I contacted the store, I was told I never canceled. I called customer care and was hung up on by a representative. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and went back to cancel again. I did exactly what I did the first time and I asked why I wasn't given a copy of my cancellation. I was then told I needed to ask for a copy and that they do not give verification of cancellation. This place is such a rip-off. I can not believe how terrible their business model is. Stay away from this establishment. Brissy, the front desk rep, misled my entire experience at Palm Beach Tan. I originally wanted to get a single tan and she kept pushing me into getting a new membership and that it was cheaper to do so. She ended up giving me a $25 gift card so I can take that off a future membership charge. I decided to take the plunge and move forward and I ended up coming home and noticed there wasn't $25 taken off my membership. I called and Brissy mentioned there was an activation fee that she waived with that gift card. Activation fee?! Not once did she mention there was an activation fee, she said the gift card was for "off the monthly membership fee." This was never mentioned to me and I hate being misled into a bait and switch for a sale. I was told I could get a credit for those $25 and I asked for a refund as she failed to communicate the fee to me. She said she can't do anything due to policy and that her manager would reach out to me. Not once did I get a missed call from anyone. I called back today and urged to receive a call back and still nothing. This has gotten to the point where this is such a petty issue, I really hate that I haven't even had any reciprocation. This has already has tainted my experience as a whole and have decided to 100% cancel my membership due to being misled and incompetency from the employees and District Manager. read more

The manager was very nice, but my tan did not last. It was gone by the next day. So, I stopped by and the manager wrote on my membership receipt that I was to have the tan redone at no cost. After doing all of my preparation, I went over to the location (off Teller and Jamboree in either Irvine or Newport Beach -- strange zoning so I am unsure). I then went over to Palm Beach tanning in my black (braless) black cover-up and showed the girl at the Front Desk my membership with a note from the manager). She was absolutely mean, cruel, hostile, hateful and impossible)! Worst customer experience I have EVER had in my life. She refused to allow me to use it. I was insistent that she contact the manager. Apparently, as I stood there, she called other managers (I doubt she actually did) as she described my situation completely inaccurately. After standing there for 23 minutes, this, "Horribly Mean," Girl then told me that it was now, "too late," for me to get any tan even if I paid for it outright (she refused to honor what the manager had told me). I attempted to reason with her and she just became enraged. I told her, "I am just wanting to understand so I can communicate with the manager who had signed me up for a membership and wrote on a card that I was to get a re-tam for free. She started screaming at me, calling me names and was crude, rude and hate-filled. I walked out and she had called the police!!' I was sitting in my car crying when the Irvine PD arrived. She had told the cops that I was making terroristic threats towards her. In my black cover-up (in the raw," I got out of my car to talk with the cop. I felt SO exposed, emotionally raw and abused. The cop was empathic and said, "we often get calls like this from this place." The next day I cancelled my membership without talking with the manager as I never EVER wanted anything to do with them again!!! Before this I had gone to the Palm Beach Tan location on McArther and had told this very nice manager at this location that I had a negative experience (they were there, but refused to let me in because it was 20 minutes before they closed). I was left out side in the rainy, cold weather (got sick) as that girl supposedly called her manager. Given my negative experience with the first Palm Beach Tanning place and the horrific, abusive experience I had at he second location, I strongly encourage anyone who is remotely thinking of going to either location to RUN and go anyplace else. However, if you are male, neither of these detestable girls will treat you as they did to me. At both locations, I watched these phony disgusting girls be syrupy sweet to guys. So, they are ONLY hateful towards females and yet are obnoxious to all human beings ! I had never encountered any, "mean girls," before Palm Beach Tanning (thankfully!), but strongly suggest that NO one go to this rotten, corrupt, unethical entity ever -- unless you just want to be treated like garbage. This company is the WORST in the world (every experience with the DMV is far superior to this rotted, sickening company with crude, cruel and disgusting human beings working there for the sole purposes of inflicting power over its customers! I've never been treated so rudely by a manager in my life. Megan L the so called manager is down right nasty. I've been a Palm Beach customer for 20 years and have been paying a monthly membership the last few years which has cost around 1000.00 I have only been in a few times for a spray tan in that time. In fact I had not even been in for a year. Today I went for a spray tan and to cancel membership and go back to buying packages. Megan said "you can't get a spray tan, if you are planning to cancel them you can't get a spray tan." I was quite upset and eventually she said fine you can spray tan but she wouldn't print my cancellation receipt, she doesn't seem right. Something is really off. When I came out she hadn't printed my cancellation and when i asked again it turns out she had never done the cancellation and I had to sign everything again. She is just terrible customer service and a lot more things she said that were rude and disrespectful. I will never go back as long as she is there. Corporate should not be surprised if business is terrible at this location. read more

If you're looking for something easy and efficient with low commitment, I recommend this company. Its definitely not for OG tanners, or for people who like luxury but PBT is awesome if you just want to build color and feel better about yourself in an affordable way. I've resigned the agreement 2 years now. It's $14 a month to be able to use the lowest level bed unlimited. You can cancel anytime with 30 day notice or freeze your account if you're not gonna use it. The upgrades are also relatively cheap, so you can usually skip the line and upgrade if you'd like. Taylor is a gangster. I've seen her handle the whole studio by herself, she has great suggestions for tanning lotions and she maintains poise even when people (including myself) ask dumb questions. read more

I pay for the Diamond Bed of which there are only (2) two. Furthermore, the beds are not maintained. The misting and bluetooth functions are continually inoperable. Their maintenance team fails to correct these issues in a timely manner. If you want entry-level beds, they are always available. Horrible manager behavior today and customer service...just lost me as a 2yr customer.. Today I walked into PBT to get a spray tan and the women standing behind the counter seemed stoned.. I asked if I can spray tan as I do regularly over the two years. The manager said I cannot tan anymore as there system messed up she just noticed they didn't charge me for the month of January but they did charge me for every month after January (Feb,March, April) I said it seems your system is in error.. without giving the customer the "benefit of the doubt" and seeing what needs to be done to fix (their system error over 4 months ago) she was rude and said something to credit card fraud and didn't even look to see that I been with there company for 2yrs.. it was disturbing with the stoned girl saying she was the manager seemed to be high on something. I said I'm here to tan and we can rectify later as I was in a hurry...The so called manager said Nope your not allowed to tan in the condescending voice...I said fine and went straight over the Rockstar and paid $300 for 20 tans. Which is a much better deal ($15 a tan) than paying $40-$50 a month even if you go or don't go....I can say you lost my business and my wifes account as she also tans at Palm Beach Tan. She is going to cancel her membership and go to Rockstar tan.. cleaner, better spray machine, more supplies and nicer staff.. Buyer Beware read more
