My husband has Alzheimer's and spent over 2 years in Palm Beach Memory Care. The experience was terrible. I was there almost every day and found he was not clean, several times soaking wet, rashes, unshaven, filthy room, dirty laundry piled up. I put a camera in his room as it was so bad. Short staffed. Many times night staff could not be reached when I called as my husband slid off the bed and was on the floor. One time for over three hours. There were supposed to be alerts on the bed. This was an ongoing until I finally removed him December, 2025. Scabies was prevalent in August, 2025. PBMC said my husband was the only case. They made excuses about those who were scratching and had rashes. We complained until they finally brought in their dermatologist and the results all came back inconclusive. A few of us who took our loved ones to our own dermatologist got positive results. Family members tested positive after they were told their loved one did not have it, even though she had rashes and was treated. ??? Due to my trying to correct issues rather than move, we were evicted. Family members said I was an advocate for them as well. Since we left in December, several other families have left. I have been told they had to treat the residents as scabies was rampant. Some staff had it as well. A family member told a group of us the chef told her there was no money for food and they were running out and were using tiny scraps of turkey soaked in water. Some staff members, including Gina, who was great with activities, recently quit as she had enough. This barely touches on the problems in this facility. I asked James, the maintenance person why the carpets have never been professionally cleaned in over two years. He said he got an estimate, but management would not approve funding. He said he could not do it. properly with his machine. The one star I gave is for the few caregivers who do try to do a good job, but they are frustrated with the situation. Tae, the chef, seems to care, but his hands are tied. We need to band together to protect our loved ones. I am 78 years of age...the pressure has been horrendous and affected my health. read more

Dont let the pictures fool you! in the beginning PBMC was great , but this past year and 1/2 was so disappointing we had to move my mom to a new and much better facility. PBMC went through tons of diapers and wipes ( now hardly any - using ours for other residents? ) Dirty clothes piled up in the hamper . I respect people's various opinions, but I disagree with the post from LB. A family member has been in Palm Beach Memory Care for almost 1 year. Our family has found the staff incredibly responsive to our questions, and concerns and to the safety of the residents, staff, and guests of the residents. I have always been greeted with a smile and hello when I enter the facility. The staff has always been respectful and pleasant. The nursing staff, Sandy the speech therapist, and Ellie (along with the entire PT team) are kind and truly understand the patient population they are working with. I have noted a huge difference when therapy is given consistently. Confidence and agility in handling the walker are more prevalent. The food is tasty, at the correct temperature, and consistently covers all food groups. Tae and his unbelievable staff serve FRESH meals to the residents: Breakfast Lunch, and Dinner. Lunch and dinner, always include a hot soup, two entrees, and dessert. My family has eaten at Palm Beach Memory Care with our loved one for a PBMC planned event (Mother's Day, Father's Day, Holidays, etc.) or a family birthday celebration. During those events, and when I stop in during mealtime, I have SEEN and EATEN the food! My favorite is Tae's salmon! Gina and Rafael (presently, the main activity leaders) engage the residents who want to engage in a group activity. The activities range from painting, corn hole toss to karaoke, word games, and tai chi. ALL the residents are encouraged to participate, however, it's never predictable if a resident will be interested or not on any given day. Activities are offered throughout the day. No one is ever forced to participate. Training is provided for all staff and aides in Dementia, Alzheimer's, and the physical and emotional elements of aging. Training is ongoing as additional staff is hired. There is a salon available to the residents. The salon hairstylist is comfortable working with memory care patients and they come out of the salon looking GREAT! All the staff have been helpful and have greeted my family members by name with a warm "hello", from James, the fabulous head of maintenance, to the helpful caregivers and housekeepers. I am grateful that my husband was able to spend the last few months of his life at Palm Beach Memory Care (PBMC). We all want to provide safe and loving care for our loved one in the comfort of our home but as their disease progresses, so do the specific needs of their care. PBMC accepted my request to place a camera in his room - many facilities do not allow this - which reassured me they had nothing to hide and allowed me to monitor his care. From the moment we arrived until his death, I felt he was being cared for by a staff that was well-trained and caring. The attention to his specific needs (some as small as how he liked his hair combed) and my wishes for his care were respected. No facility or staff will care for your loved one 100% in the way you would and this is an important issue to talk about with your family or a support group as you come to accept this but I will tell you that any issues I had regarding his care were addressed to my satisfaction. The employees were welcoming the minute I entered the lobby (which is where your first notice how clean and well-cared for the environment is), any maintenance-type questions I had were quickly addressed by James, the all-day purposeful activities with caring and energetic leaders Rafael and Gina, the Chef and his entire staff who created and served appealing and healthy meals, the nursing and direct caregivers - led by Katonya, the Health and Wellness Director, who paid attention to all the important details and worked alongside her staff, the many women who provided the direct care for my husband, the professional auxiliary staff - outstanding VNA (Chrissy), PT,OT, ST, and an amazing NP (Erica), helped me deal with the guilt (and let's be honest, placing your loved one away from home involves issues that tug at your heart) and accept that he was well cared for and safe. I would recommend PBMC to any family searching for a facility to seriously consider PBMC. Go for a tour and see for yourself. read more

My husband has been in PBMC since Day 1. I believe PBMC has had its growing pains and staffing issues-- the same as any other new business; however, I disagree with the horrid review from LB stating the treatment was close to "borderline elder abuse". LB is essentially saying it's acceptable to me that I continue to keep my husband in a facility that mistreats its residents. The writer is certainly entitled to her comments, but the past is the past. Let's talk today. I'm at PBMC with my husband 29 out of 30 days a month. I've seen a positive change in management and the increased staffing consists of professional, considerate, hardworking employees in all positions. The facility is immaculate, and the food is thoughtfully prepared. Residents are treated with respect. The amazing Activities Department exercises with the residents and keeps them engaged in various activities. Musical performers and a music therapist are brought in on a regular basis. The residents truly enjoy the entertainment; they sing along and dance, and the smiles on their faces would melt your heart. Conversely, if I have an issue or notice something that needs attention, Management has an open-door policy and I don't hesitate to express my concerns. Regularly scheduled Family Nights are an opportunity for family members to express their views and comments/concerns/suggestions in an open forum. If I had an opportunity to do it all over again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose PBMC. I feel comfortable knowing that my husband is in good hands. Mrs C read more

Just when I thought this place could not get worse - IT DOES. After another visit to see my mother I witness residents visibly FILTHY, greasy hair , stained clothes, clearly unbathed for days. In the dining room at lunch time, my family and I witnessed an employee named Mona (who has been repeatedly complained about her abusive behavior) SCREAMING at a male resident to "shut up because the world doesn't revolve around you" all because he asked her a question about the lunch menu options while she was taking another resident's order. Then she became irate screaming at top of her lungs at staff to "turn off the music" which was coming from the TV show on. Many of the residents were visibly shaken and intimidated by her aggressive and abusive behavior yet the facility continues to allow her to work there I informed the wellness/care director that I put a motion sensor camera in on the nightstand of my mother's room this visit because of all the re-occurring issues at the facility, their refusal to acknowledge what was going on and what these cameras recorded was even shocking to me. Aides coming is 3 times at midnight, 1:57am and again at 5:47am aggressively waking up my mother from a deep sleep and FORCING her to get up to use the bathroom. She's visibly frightened being waken up for no reason over and over thru the night. My mother's pajamas were not changed during any of these events so she was not woken up because she was wet and needed to cleaned up - so for what reason was a 77 year old woken up loudly and repeatedly thru the night and forced to bathroom. She was then again forced to wake up at 6:50am for the day without letting her sleep all evening and not showered, left her with greasy dirty hair and dressed her and made her leave her room This is ELDER ABUSE.. These events were frightening and shocking for her which can clearly be seen on video. It could have resulted in her having a heart attack. The facility corporate office and wellness director continue to ignore the issues and spend more time playing deny and CYA then addressing and taking action to fix the serious issues with care staff at the facility. I post here because for months I have tried to get the facility to fix the care staff issues and NOTHING ever gets done and it's clear the only thing they care about is $$$$. So if action won't be taken by Corporate to fix these issues I will continue to warn people on every forum to NOT PUT FAMILY MEMBERS HERE !!!!! read more
