will never trust them again with my carI took my LR3 to see if they can fix it. it had electrical issues and also needed some work . The owner told me all that he needed to get done and said it's going to cos 8000$ but after that this car it's going to run for another 2 years.and most importantly he said it will pass the inspection! And he will give me the tag he even charged me for the inspection which he never gave it back! i was just separated and couldn't afford buying a new car and trust them so asked him to fix my car. I left my car there for couple of months in the mean time he called and asked for another $1000, and when he said its ready I went to pick it up, i admit it was my own fault, everyone always said you being a woman, the mechanic will take advantage and charge you more but I didn't believe them, I trusted them. Long story short he made me pay him the balance ($8000) and before even trying my car he took the money order and gave me the key. as i started to drive i wanted to ask him about the inspection and as i parked my car and pulled the break all of a sudden break made a sound and did not go back down he was supposed to fix the ac but he didn't He heard the noise and said bring your car back ill fix it i asked about the ac and inspection he said ill get it done when you bring it back i took my car back and left it there for another week he asked for another $5000 to get the ac fixed, fix the break and inspection and some new problems that my car needed to pass the inspection . Long story short he was not honest with me and to this day m car st doesn't work and I can't sell it as well I AM SORRY I TRUSTED HIM!!!!!!!!!! I currently drive a 2010 Range Rover HSE LUX and it's like new. No one but Palita's Automotive will ever work on my car. They are better than exceptional at what they do. Even the actual Land Rover dealership cannot compare to Palita's Automotive. My Range Rover is currently 14 years old and runs like it's brand new and it is because of Palita's. This is an old-style auto shop. Cars packed everywhere. Office full of stuff. Great bunch of Land Rovers of all years and models. Service was fast and reasonably priced and honest. I mostly had my Discovery in for an evaluation. They gave me a a good picture of what it needs and whether it makes sense to do it. I was in and out in 90 minutes and now know what I need repaired. Thieves and liars!!!!!!! Had my vehicle towed into them (LR RR SC) called them for a month, no answer from the phone. Had to drive there. Of course I called before entering the run down property (don't believe the pictures they post, that not their shop) I watched them look at the caller id and not answer the phone. I asked about my car and you get owners on a test drive. They are always on a test drive. Finally after 2 weeks I get a call from John, states the problem but part is on back order. He tells me part might take 2 weeks. I call a month later, stated the call every week and part is still on back order. To cut to the chase, After 8 months, I call dealership, and I had no problem ordering part. Part came in 10 days. I had to physically drive it up to them. You would think they would jump right on it, nope. After another month I finally get call "your car is done". Of course get it home and its not fixed. Suspension wont move. Called numerous time and of course no answer. @ weeks go by, I had to call them from a different number then the finally answered. They told me to get a scanner and see what was wrong with it. Call me crazy but I thought that's why I paid them $1850.00 to do. So, I just pop up at that abandon property they call a shop and drop it back off. Didn't waste any time calling me then to tell me your car wont raise and its gonna cost you a additional $1600. Again call me crazy but this was the reason I brought it to them in the first place. But let me tell you what they did fix? Replace my Shifter that was giving me no problems. Had Dealership check Vin# on shifter and guess what same shifter. Wheel Alignment ( how do you do a front wheel alignment on bald tires, John?!!! They tried the battery scam with me too!!! Battery was only 8 month old and that because it sat at their shop that long. 1 quart of transmission fluid for $120.00 and the best part is he lied to my face saying he replaced my brand new suspension pump that I bought with a used one and tried to charge me an additional $1600.00. And you guessed it they never did it. They just reset the computer which is a $200.00 service job from the dealership. So, if you have time any money to throw away. This is your place. If not just find any other place. You would think with all the money they stole the would put some of it into the horrid place they call a garage. (oil leaking into the street, no place to sit, dirty, grimey and it smells). Poor excuse for anything represent Land Rover!!!! read more

This is literally the only place I take my vehicles. John knows his stuff as does the people he hires. I've been using his services for years now and will continue to do so. It's the only mechanic shop in the area where I don't feel that like Im getting the run around. If your car is beat, they will tell you. If it doesn't really need all the work you think, they will tell you. Don't waste your time on other shops if you are looking for a new shop. Used this place once, NEVER AGAIN. Dropped off an LR3 to have the fan fixed. Waited 2 weeks for the appointment. Got a call the same day saying the car had been fixed. Picked up the car that night, the fan stopped working in 10 minutes as I was driving back home. I called immediately and left a message requesting a call the following day, didn't hear back. Called again the following day, and was told to bring the car back THE FOLLOWING MONTH, PAY AGAIN, and they would fix it... They also charged me $145 for an UNAUTHORIZED OIL CHANGE!!! I'm out $270, can't drive the car, and can't reach them regarding a refund. read more

I have been coming here for years! He has worked on my prior Discovery and my current LR3. His repairs are always done right the first time! He is accessible, meaning if I have a question he will always spend time answering it, explaining the details and never seems to mind taking the time to explain things so I can understand them. In fact I moved out of the area a few years ago, but still only have these guys work on my car, because I trust them. I now drive over 2hrs each way for my service and repairs because I like and trust them that much. read more

I had ALWAYS had my 2008 Land Rover LR3 serviced at the Land Rover dealership; until recently... Long story short...my car broke down...and the dealership told me I broke a gasket and needed a NEW engine w/a repair cost starting at...GET THIS...$17,000...SEVENTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS is what I said! Well...believe it or not...but someone from the dealership recommended that I take my truck to Palita's...and I'm so glad...THANKFUL that I did b/c it wasn't the gasket...and datum sure didn't need a NEW engine b/c it was apparently the bypass hose...and thermostat (if I recall) Bottom line...Palita's could have told me as a woman that I did need a new engine...I honestly wouldn't have known considering that what I was told; but they didn't take advantage of the situation...and they didn't b/c the repair was less than a $1000...and I've been driving my call around the world every since w/o issue! read more

Shady experience from the beginning. I brought my vehicle in that was smoking and smelled like fuel. It was diagnosed as a fuel injection issue, BUT we need to fix that to see if other things are wrong. Of course there were other things wrong per Rob. The timing change needs replaced and the supercharger head, that will be another $6k per Rob. Oh by the way John is willing to offer you $6k for the vehicle if you'd like. Hmmmm yeah ok but it's worth $17k at worst condition, and it is much better than fair and possibly good after the repairs. Yeah I'll pass on that Rob and John. My Wife goes and pays and Miguel their mechanic mentions to her that he replaced 4 . injectors on one side and 1 on the other, but yeah I was told all 8 would be replaced, Hmmm yeah I paid for all 8. I pick it up and the check engine light is still on, and NOW I hear a squeaking noise everytime I hit a bump. I honestly feel that these guys did other things to force repairs, Rob kept mentioning that John's $6k offer was still firm, yeah of course keep low balling!!! Also Rob said hey you'll want to take that straight to the dealer to trade it in, I mean like drive it straight there. Of course I do if you jacked it all up for immediate repair. Don't trust these guys take your Landrover to a Dealer Service shop. Oh by the way they left the engine cover off, the battery cover was off, and the battery was dead. They even told my Wife my battery needed to be replaced it was no good. Guess what I jumped the battery and it charged right up and starts fine with no issues. Maybe they didn't know it was just replaced in 2017, but yeah continue with your attempts to suck money out of people. Don't trust this place they are shady and will make every attempt to suck money out of you. Now I have to find out everything that they did to my car to make it "heavy repairs" ready.
