Terry W. My wife, daughter, and I all qualified and completed the CCW course through Palehorse Defense. The instruction portion was interesting, thorough, informative, and important! We learned that there is far more to carrying a firearm legally than having possession of a weapon. There are legal, as well as moral issues involved. Usually classroom time to me is difficult at best to endure, but Darren kept everyone focused on the task at hand of determining what our obligations as CCW citizens are. At the firing range the Palehorse team took my daughter who had not fired a handgun in many years and helped her qualify the very first time she tried. The instruction at the range was as thorough as the classroom and I wish everyone who had access to a firearm would learn how the Palehorse team teaches firearm safety. Darren and his staff are true professionals, and we would like to thank them for a wonderful and enlightening experience. God bless you all! read more

You are not going to find a much better instructor than Darren in regards to being able to convey information from from a legal standpoint as well as an ability to work with shooters old and new. As an academic and education professional I was very impressed with Darren's teaching ability. His training staff is well versed and diversified allowing to handle a wide range of student skills and personalities. I went through the entire course, went to the range session as one of my friends went through the course and did my 2 year refresher with Palehorse Defense. Each time I've been very impressed. The provided BBQ lunch for the classroom portion of the CCW wasn't bad either. I would like to one day take his advanced class. read more

I received my initial CCW prior to Palehorse starting their business. I did my 2 year re-quals with Palehorse. Palehorse is so much more thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The owner/instructor is awesome and easy-going. He is dedicated to the law and safety. He provides lunches for some of his classes, he brings additional qualified volunteer instructors to the range to give a one-on-one instruction to those who need it, ensuring everyone receives the training they need. The price is amazing for all that you receive and he donates much of his proceeds to a local Christian school, Graceway Christian Academy. I can't recommend Palehorse enough. read more

I am a seventy year old plus, retired teacher. Raised around guns all my life. However, I wanted to be trained by an instructor who was competent, serious about what he was doing. The training was to the point, accurate and best of all all inclusive. When questions were asked by those of us in class, we were made to feel at ease and answers were clear. I attended the course with my son and we really enjoyed the coursework and felt qualified for our concealed carry permit at the conclusion. Thanks, Darren very much. read more
