I fairly regularly drive from Criccieth to Caernarfon for an evening meal at Tafan y Proth…read more(Wetherspoons) which is 40 mile round trip. There is no where any closer where you can get food of that quality that cheap! The place looks a little bit tired, now, i.e. some of the seats are ripped, one or two table numbers are missing, that sort of thing. But it is clean and tidy. The brass work is usually polished, and the toilets are normally almost spotless. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful, even when they are busy. There are happy to recommend a beer or wine if you are not sure what you would like to drink. Food orders sometimes take up to about 30 minutes to arrive, but the food is always delicious, hot and I have rarely known anything to be unavailable. There is a good selection of variety of vegetarian meals, and food for all tastes, from curries, to pasta, to mexican, to burgers or roasts. There are light snacks, starters and puddings as well as main meals. I particularly like the beer and burger deal, which costs less than £5 for a beef, chicken or vegetarian burger in a bun with chips and a drink which can be wine, or a soft drink rather than beer.

Great food at a good price! Great selection of beers. Drinks are included in some of the prices!…read moreYou have to order at the bar but amazing service when needed. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a place to eat while watching a football match.

Interior is a bit shabby chic and very cozy. The servers were all very pleasant Welsh ladies that helped answer some questions I had about the menu. I had a mug of tea and a Buck rarebit toast. The toast came with a small side salad and a poached egg. It was just perfect. I've never had rarebit before, but if this is the norm, I would love to have it again. There are a bunch of other items on the menu that would be perfect for breakfast or a light lunch as well. I left extremely pleased with my meal. Oh, and the best part was, prices were extremely fair. For about 6GBP, I left feeling I could easily conquer the climbing of every tower in Caernarfon Castle.

We would attend again based solely on the staff. Coffee was great as well. Unfortunately we both got the ham and cheese toasted sandwich so our review isn't based on much. The prices are average for the uk. One coffee one order or chips one order of mushrooms and two toasted ham and cheese came to £15.xx. Sides were very generous as well. Worth the visit.
