Repairs are sloppy, temporary, and leave problems unresolved appliances break, showers and stove fans stop working, and management relies on cheap, ineffective fixes instead of proper replacements. Many of the glowing reviews online are completely misleading they are incentivized, paid for, or even AI-generated. Just because a reviewer has an older account or other reviews doesn't mean their feedback is real. Management pressures tenants into leaving positive reviews in exchange for rewards, creating a false image of the property. Lisa Stavens, the property manager, pretends to be helpful at first, but the mask only stays on as long as you comply with everything she says. The moment you push back or stand up for yourself, she flips becoming hostile, retaliatory, and manipulative. She will do anything to get you evicted, harasses tenants with threatening emails, and publicly shames people by posting notices and letters directly on doors where anyone walking by can see them. She asks invasive questions unrelated to tenancy, invents excuses to enter apartments just to snoop, and constantly intimidates tenants. Management also raises the rent whenever they can, favors tenants who fit a certain image, and blatantly ignores your rights as a tenant. Essentially, you're paying a high price to live in what feels like a prison. This is not a luxury building. Management ignores safety issues, pressures tenants into fake-positive reviews, and only cares about profits. Termites are everywhere, and they refuse to address the problem properly, leaving the building literally being eaten from the inside. The polished appearance and minimal modern touches are just a facade the truth is a stressful, unsafe, and poorly maintained environment. Any time I've had something that needs fixing, I email Lisa and Frank is up at my door within an hour. The building has a new pool and gym as of just a few of years ago and I would argue it's one of the best apartment pools in the area... always sparkling clean! My unit was redone right before I moved in four years ago and it looks great. I have also always felt very safe here, the intercom system has video on it so you know who is buzzing you to get in, and I've never felt unsafe. As someone who's lived here for over four years I couldn't help but notice the lies about termites in the building... those photos aren't of this building. This building is also rent controlled so the rent in fact does not go up at the discretion of the property manager, there are laws around that. Since no one else was available, Junior kindly offered to show us around. We toured three different units: one with a smaller square footage, a medium-sized unit, and a 1 bed 1 bath layout that with 2 of it combined would be identical to a 2-bed, 2-bath with two walk-in closets. The vibes were amazing--the units were beautiful, modern, and spacious. At the end of our tour, we mentioned to Luke that we preferred a unit with two walk-in closets. He assured us he would follow up if one became available. We also discussed potential rent increases. I was particularly concerned about hikes once we became tenants, as they're common with large corporate-managed properties like Eastway. Luke reassured us that rent increases were typically minimal (0-2% based on the benchmark rent, rarely 4% but is possible) and even mentioned that, due to the fires, current pricing on vacant units would remain unchanged. We left feeling excited and reassured, thinking we had found our future home. The next day, Luke emailed us, encouraging us to apply. We responded, asking if we could secure the specific unit we wanted. Silence. A week later, with no response from Luke, I checked the website myself. Not only had one of the units we toured disappeared from availability, but the smallest unit's price had jumped by $400. This was extremely disappointing--especially considering they raised prices during a state emergency. Everything we had been told during our tour turned out to be false, and to this day, we never received a response from the apartment manager.

Only has 4 washers and 3 dryers. Also the app for the laundry is constantly charging people twice and getting a refund is hard. My bathtub was clogged with so much hair. I took delivery of pulling the hair out myself since I needed to fix the issue quickly. Also a lot of paint specks on the floor from what seems to be a quick paint job. The owners of this apartments did nothing to make sure the place was in top shape before someone moved in. This has been so disappointing because again I looked at other reviews and thought this was a good find. If you plan to rent here, try being on the second floor and please buy rugs for at least the bedroom out of courtesy for the down stairs neighbors since I don't think the landlords plan to invest in better insulation for the ceilings. They stated that the paint had an "off white hue" to try and justify the paint job. Absolutely ridiculous. You can see my photos, the place did not need $500 worth of painting. I've reached out to management about it and requested photo comparisons from my move in. They told me to email Q Support but guess what, still haven't heard back from them either. Towards the end of our tenancy, Misty in management was pretty communicative but she can't do all the legwork for the entire property. At the time, the website showed multiple units available. I reviewed everything before and booked the appointment based on that exact listing. When I arrived, there was no real appointment experience at all. No one properly greeted or assisted me - I was left to figure things out on my own, which is completely unprofessional. Instead of showing me the unit I came for, I was taken to a completely different apartment that did not match the floor plan in any way. On top of that, it was more expensive and clearly worse. Then I was told that the unit I originally came to see was "not available." This made no sense, because at that exact moment the website still showed multiple available units (I have a screenshot to prove it). When I asked for clarification, I received vague, evasive answers instead of a clear explanation. When I asked to see any of the supposedly available units, I was told none were available to show. This felt extremely misleading and like a classic bait-and-switch situation. I was dealing with Mikhaela on March 18 at 10:15 AM. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before wasting their time here. The entire process felt disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest.

I was able to do my application online and come 3000 miles to meet him on a SUNDAY and get my keys and sign the lease. He was nice...the neighbors were nice (one being his brother and family), the maintenance man was nice (gave me his cell # to contact him quickly) The reason it doesnt have 5 stars? 1. NO A/C...coming from georgia my first week was great. Nice sea breeze...windows open..no fear someone would crawl in. Then a heat wave came...I was miserable. I had to buy fans to keep from dying. 2. Ants..they OWNED the place...none of my pesticides worked...they came back. I must say..I would rather have them than roaches..but they were annoying!!!! Dean told me I should have told him so they could spray...hell I just figured they would respond to my spray and powders that usually works. Oh well. 3. Parking....it was sometimes like a battle for parking. Esp if you came into the neighborhood after 7pm or before 9am on weekends and holidays. There was a couple times I had to park a couple blocks away!! The neighborhood is safe...but still. There were these big trucks always there...motorcycles that parked horizontally from the curb instead of vertically. There are no painted lines so there would be a potential spot..yet the car in front or behind didnt park right. This was my biggest complaint. Dont get me started on the cars that NEVER moved... (one had spider webs from its tires to the street) At the end of the day a good place to stay. Very gated...you need a key for everything. Nice management. Nice area. Even though a few blocks from the airport..rarely heard a plane. 15 mins from the nearest beach. I would recommend this place :)
