The residents are respectful, and the building is surrounded by single-family homes, making it a pleasant area for walks, especially during sunrise and sunset. Additionally, the neighborhood experiences very little traffic and remains remarkably quiet, allowing me to sleep comfortably with the windows open. Management would host a party with free food and drinks once a month. During COVID, they amped up their cleaning and I would hear them literally everyday vacuuming outside my door. There are amazon lockers on the first floor garage that make it easy for you to grab your packages without being worried that a neighbor may take it. Electric car? Not a problem, they started installing charging stations underground so if you have an EV, this place can accommodate. Management is super friendly and replies quickly to emails. When we moved out, they refunded our entire deposit plus pet as we cleaned it so well which is unheard of!

I had positive experiences at several Equity Residential properties over the years, which is why I chose to return to this one. Unfortunately, this experience has been the complete opposite. I moved into an apartment with broken appliances, multiple roaches, and numerous maintenance issues that needed to be addressed before I had even fully moved in. As the photos show, there were several problems that should have been resolved prior to handing over the unit. Additionally, I raised concerns about the condition of the washing machine before move-in and reported the issue again immediately after moving in. Maintenance was sent out, but instead of properly cleaning or addressing the condition of the washer, they simply wiped the inside with bleach wipes and left the used wipes behind for me to dispose of. The cleaning was not effective, and the residue and buildup remained visible afterward, as shown in the photos below. This felt like a temporary surface-level attempt rather than a proper resolution to ensure the appliance was clean and ready for a new resident. It's been frustrating going back and forth with management. I raised my concerns immediately and was initially told that my washer and dryer would be replaced. Later, I was told there were no new appliances available. I then had to submit multiple maintenance requests just to determine why the dryer wasn't drying my clothes properly. When I followed up about the replacement they had originally suggested, I was made to feel like I was asking for too much. Thankfully, they eventually identified and fixed the issue, so the dryer is now working. However, the broken microwave still hasn't been addressed. I was told over a month ago that it would be replaced, yet nothing has happened despite multiple follow-ups. The other reviews are also accurate regarding package security. Packages are regularly stolen, and the mailroom is disorganized, with deliveries often left haphazardly and without any clear system. It's disappointing because I've been a loyal Equity Residential resident since 2020 and have lived in multiple properties they own. Based on my previous experiences, I expected much better. Sadly, this experience has changed my opinion, and it will be the last time I choose to rent with Equity Residential.

I've reached out to management about it and requested photo comparisons from my move in. They told me to email Q Support but guess what, still haven't heard back from them either. Towards the end of our tenancy, Misty in management was pretty communicative but she can't do all the legwork for the entire property. I am still waiting to hear back in regards to my security deposit. It's true, corporate will not respond to you. Once you leave, crickets. At the time, the website showed multiple units available. I reviewed everything before and booked the appointment based on that exact listing. When I arrived, there was no real appointment experience at all. No one properly greeted or assisted me - I was left to figure things out on my own, which is completely unprofessional. Instead of showing me the unit I came for, I was taken to a completely different apartment that did not match the floor plan in any way. On top of that, it was more expensive and clearly worse. Then I was told that the unit I originally came to see was "not available." This made no sense, because at that exact moment the website still showed multiple available units (I have a screenshot to prove it). When I asked for clarification, I received vague, evasive answers instead of a clear explanation. When I asked to see any of the supposedly available units, I was told none were available to show. This felt extremely misleading and like a classic bait-and-switch situation. I was dealing with Mikhaela on March 18 at 10:15 AM. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before wasting their time here. The entire process felt disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest.

I was able to do my application online and come 3000 miles to meet him on a SUNDAY and get my keys and sign the lease. He was nice...the neighbors were nice (one being his brother and family), the maintenance man was nice (gave me his cell # to contact him quickly) The reason it doesnt have 5 stars? 1. NO A/C...coming from georgia my first week was great. Nice sea breeze...windows open..no fear someone would crawl in. Then a heat wave came...I was miserable. I had to buy fans to keep from dying. 2. Ants..they OWNED the place...none of my pesticides worked...they came back. I must say..I would rather have them than roaches..but they were annoying!!!! Dean told me I should have told him so they could spray...hell I just figured they would respond to my spray and powders that usually works. Oh well. 3. Parking....it was sometimes like a battle for parking. Esp if you came into the neighborhood after 7pm or before 9am on weekends and holidays. There was a couple times I had to park a couple blocks away!! The neighborhood is safe...but still. There were these big trucks always there...motorcycles that parked horizontally from the curb instead of vertically. There are no painted lines so there would be a potential spot..yet the car in front or behind didnt park right. This was my biggest complaint. Dont get me started on the cars that NEVER moved... (one had spider webs from its tires to the street) At the end of the day a good place to stay. Very gated...you need a key for everything. Nice management. Nice area. Even though a few blocks from the airport..rarely heard a plane. 15 mins from the nearest beach. I would recommend this place :)
