It feels nice when you find a doctor who knows his stuff and has a great sense of humor as well. He is by far a caring & personable doctor. Dr Efthimiou is a leader in his field and he was able to help me understand my disease and my options with his extensive knowledge. He explained my condition in clear, non-technical language and suggested the most appropriate treatment for me. His personnel staff are by far friendly and professional. I visit his office at 1 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Petros has several offices and depending on what insurance you have, his staff will always let you know which office is covered by your insurance. People sometimes complain...."Oh it's hard to get an appointment with Dr. Petros or I have to wait too long"... My answers to these people are very simple.... If t's that hard to get an appointment or if you have to wait a little while to see him when you get that appointment... This should make you think.... WOW... this doctor is an excellent doctor.... Common sense should set in.... He has a great deal of patients, that admire and respect his work and keep going back for their follow-ups because he knows his stuff. AND if you are waiting just a little bit... THAT'S GOOD.... NOT BAD.... this shows that the doctor is taking his time talking to his patients.. .explaining and answering questions..... HE DOES NOT RUSH OR PUSH YOU OUT!!!! Here is a little brief summary of Dr. Petros's accomplishments.... 2011-15 "Castle Connolly" and "US News & World Report", Top Doctor in Rheumatology, he was the recipient of the Patients' Choice Award in 2012-15 and named a 2014 & 2015 "Super Doctor" by the New York Times and 2014 & 2015 "Best Doctor" by New York Magazine. HELLO.... can you ask for more???? Now you know you are in good hands when you see these accomplishments. I was seeing Dr. Petros every 3-6 months or as recommended by him for the past years.... Now I see him every 4-6 weeks, since I am 36 years old, 11 weeks pregnant and considered a high risk patient due to other illness factors.... Now between Dr Petros and my ob/gyn, who I also have reviewed on Yelp.... I know that my unborn and myself are in the best care possible. ((( If anyone feels to ask me any questions or have any concerns regarding my review, please feel free to contact me )))

Had a TERRIBLE experience with Dr. Efthimiou. Went to see him at the other location (263 7th…read moreavenue) where the staff were ridiculously inept at making appointments, providing promised paperwork, etc. but the anti-hero of the hour really was the doctor himself. In our first visit, I gave my history to a medical student, apparently, who later, Dr. Efthimiou allowed to give me what is a very difficult injection into my hand. I had to sign a consent to get the injection but I was never told that the doctor wouldn't be administering it. He appeared to be just about ready to do it himself, finding the tendon with the issue, aligning the needle, and at the last second, before I objected, he offered to the stunned medical student to "have a go." Are you kidding me??? So, 5 weeks later (the earliest he felt he needed to see me), I see the doctor again, and he seems surprised that I have no relief from my pain from any of the issues I reported in my initial visit. He says, if you have foot and hand pain, why are you here? You should be seeing a podiatrist and an orthopedist. Really?? YOU ARE A DOCTOR WHO IS SUPPOSED TO HELP PATIENTS ASSESS AND MANAGE THEIR PAIN!! I had already gone to a podiatrist, and the fact that I had pain in 3 separate appendages didn't seem to lift any red flags for this sleepwalking, totally incompetent man. He told me to take advil. Advil. What a jerk. 2 weeks after that, the tendon that the medical student injected ruptured spontaneously and I had to have emergency hand surgery. So guess what? With his negligence, I did eventually need to see an orthopedist and now finally have some relief from that (my feet are unchanged). Terrible, terrible doctor. No interest in treating patients, careless with the application of serious and sensitive injections, no intellectual curiosity, rude, late, and supported by an incredibly poorly managed office. Run. This is not your doctor. Find someone who will actually improve your health.

I needed emergency surgery, and he made it possible that very same day (the day before he was leaving for vacation). While he was away and I was recovering in the hospital, he called me twice a day to see how I was doing (while he was on vacation). After a few days of horrible pain (I think in large part because they couldn't give me the normal post-surgery drug cocktail because I am pregnant), I am healing very rapidly (much faster than my sister who had an almost identical surgery one vertebra up). I feel this is at least in part due to Dr. Snow's skill and expertise.

Dr. Hoch as well as several other doctors were next to work and accepted my med plan. I googled five docs and only he had reviews. Typically that is not a good thing, as people usually use these forums to bad mouth the service. However, I found amazing reviews about his thoroughness and service. I couldn't agree more! In my initial visit to him, I could immediately tell that he actually cared unlike most health professionals that have been at it for awhile. Even though I heard him paged several times, I never felt rushed and we talked about not only my medical history but my families. I wasn't coming to him with an issue, but knowing that my 30 year old physical is around the corner I felt it was time to find a doc out here. Dr. Hoch is a diamond in the rough. I am glad to have met him, and I hope not to see him very often for my health, but I know that every time I have to see him it will be a pleasurable experience. Five stars all the way.
