Very nice store. I…read morebought my wife an Alex and Ani bracelet for Valentine's Day from Medawar. They actually had a very large selection of the bracelets and charms, running mostly between $28-$50, including an interesting array of Valentine's Day theme charms. The customer service was excellent, they even offered gift wrap. Other than Alex and Ani, they also had a huge line of Pandora (which my wife loves), including some "last chance clearance" items, plus a nice array of Tacori. I usually use Kay Jewelers for most jewelry purchases, but this Medawar impressed me. They also do on site jewelry and watch repair. I might bring my vintage Longines watch here for repairs. I would like to get that watch repaired locally, as opposed to taking it to a store that I don't shop in regularly. I'm glad to see Medawar can do it here.

They definitely overcharged on ring repairs and did not do precisely what I paid for or requested…read more. I still needed to have my rings resized again elsewhere.. they did not have the rings ready when I came in just before close on the date they were to be done- their jeweler was still refining work on the rings and we had to wait.. My husband and I had two other rings resized here and both were routine - however, the more intricate and pricey repairs to my other rings did not go smoothly.. and i definitely say it was over priced.. However, the sales people are very nice and they have beautiful jewelry- they even have a good array of Pandora. They've since then done a few appraisals for me on other pieces and those experiences were okay. Overall, a nice store with lovely staff but I should've taken the larger repair elsewhere.. as it was, I had to get the rings resized at a separate jeweler..

Never spoke to a soul while I quietly wondered the shop for about 10 minutes. No one approached me…read moreor asked if I needed help. The shop looked nice. I liked some of the Boho merchandise. But we left the store not purchasing anything. Didn't really think much more of it. We continued our afternoon in Downtown Lapeer and visited more shops...just window shopping and browsing. We shopped and looked around in nearly every shop in the downtown Lapeer area. It was a nice afternoon. As we approached our vehicle to head home, a police officer pulled up next to our car. The owner of Essential Necessities, whom I never saw or spoke to, called the police with a complaint that she did not want "Us" returning to her shop. I have never been more insulted and appalled by someone's petty behavior. See, apparently, my boyfriend used to date this owner about 10 years ago. He helped her get her store ready to open but then their relationship ended. Grow up. We did nothing wrong and if I had found something I liked, I wouldn't have hesitated to purchase something from you. Immature and ungracious behavior to potential customers is poor business. Enjoy your store.... I'll make sure the most people possible know just how ridiculous and petty a "business woman" Lapeer has representing their community.
