There is a second floor that you can only access by stairs, but even if you cannot get upstairs, there is plenty of beautiful art to see on the bottom floor. Please be careful if going up and down the stairs because the handrails are a bit wobbly and unstable. Experience: this gallery is WAY bigger than it looks from the outside. Upon entering, you can turn left and go enjoy their bar, or you can turn right and enter a world of art. A lot of the art here is a darker theme, but some of it isn't. The art is mostly paintings but there are some small sculptures and photo art. I also learned they have an escape room you can play, but I haven't experienced this one yet!

This is not your typical classical, safe paintings that you see else. No these paintings have an edge, a uniqueness about them which I love. I thought I needed to go to LA for this type of stuff, but seeing it here in Escondido was refreshing. There's an upstairs too which has the artist's personal room they paint in which I thought was cool, some were open and other's were closed. There were plenty of paintings show casing their work. If interested in any of the pieces you just tell the guy working at the front, and mention the artist's name, and title of the picture. As I walked back downstairs I told the guy I was there to pick up 2 Victor Roman art pieces (Miss Green & Miss Mirren), and a August Williams (Paris). My husband contacted him and told him I'd be there. The guy grabbed my pictures, I was very pleased with the quality of the pictures. You can pay by pay pal, cc, or cash. I paid with CC and was e-mailed a receipt promptly. I can't wait to go back and bring others along.

My cousin asked for a second bag bec she's giving the things as presents ... the salesperson said NO ONE BAG PER CUSTOMER... she said it in a very rude way... my cousin said I'll pay for the bag ... she said no ... then she changed her mind and pulled out another bag ... by the way the bag I'm talking about is these tiny paper bags that you buy a dozen from target for $4.99 they are not fancy at all... My cousin took out $5 and gave them to her and the salesperson was so nervous and saying please step aside I want to help other customers and she yelled at her have a nice rest of your day. She was unprofessional and I will never go back to that store although I loved a piece there the horse they had at the entrance that I was planning on purchasing .... but I will never give a penny to this store .

One of the most interesting shops inside the Rancho Bernardo winery, not only to just browse and…read moreshop the mixture of objects they sell, most of them handcrafted by local artisans. The side of Icarus that I find more interested is the vast array of classes they offer: from oil painting to mini mosaic seascape to the most fascinating fascinator hat making! (I hope they keep teaching this class, as it is very unique and I missed the session in August). Classes prices varied, for example the fascinator one was $45 including all material, lasting 2 hours on a Sunday. What a nice way to spend a day at the winery! The workshop area is separated from the selling one, but it is also open space where visitors of the winery can freely enter and check those students taking the now so omnipresent everywhere wine and paint class. Demographics in these workshops tend to be mostly senior women, but of course they are open to everybody who wants to exploit their creative self at any age. Looking forward more interesting classes.
