I have been going to Dr. Acostas office for about 5 years now, possibly longer. My whole family…read morereceives care here (myself and my kids). All of the staff are extremely nice! From Maria, to the front reception, to the back! When my kids are getting services done, they're laughing & talking the staffs ears off. When I get my teeth cleaned, they always make sure I am comfortable. Prior to going to Dr. Acosta's, I had a horrible experience with another Dental office in Turlock and so happy I found my dental home. Now why I really wanted to write this review. I recently went short hour with my job and lost my insurance. Maria was very helpful on choosing the right plans for my family and I. I recently called for an emergency wisdom tooth that was extremely painful. Yes, Dr. Acosta referred me months ago to have it removed, but life got busy and took the best of me lol. Anyhow, thankfully they had an opening to see me. I thought I was going in to take a look at it, but the same day Dr. Acosta was able to pull it out. Not only did I not feel anything from the numbing to removal (which took 10 seconds), he was kind enough to help me as he knew I was paying out of pocket. Truly appreciate Dr. Acosta and his team! I hope you all are able to read this review because I truly appreciate you all! Now I can enjoy the Holidays pain free :)

He is very gentle and knows exactly what he's doing. Next, his staff are amazing! It's clear they enjoy their jobs because they are always smiling, incredibly kind, patient and helpful. And best of all, they have awesome follow through. If they say they will handle something, they do it! I'm a huge fan of this office and would highly recommend them.

Sometimes you forget that dentist's are like, SUPER interesting people…read more It was my first time here and I came for a routine check in and cleaning. Right away, I was greeted with a great smile. The lady at the front desk was clearly busy, but that didn't stop her from being attentive and friendly. Lovely welcome desk. As soon as I'm called back, I'm greeted by another friendly smile ( I believe "Maria"), and she tells me that she will be the one taking care of my X-Rays and photos. She was eager to chat, and even gave me some really interesting insight into their new camera system. Another lovely person. I'm then greeted by the lady who will be doing my cleaning, as well as Dr. Amethyst Schlecht. Dr. Amethyst Schlecht is very well spoken and engaging. She had a knowledgeable answer for every question, and never made me feel uncomfortable. Her inspection was quick but thorough, and I walked away feeling like the visit was comprehensive. The female dentist who did my cleaning (I'm bad with names, sorry!) was extremely friendly and equally as knowledgeable. I hadn't been to the dentist in years, so she really needed to put some work into the cleaning. However, she managed to keep it comfortable and basically pain free--other than the usual tugging and poking that is necessary. I think my favorite part was how everyone seemed super happy and eager to share knowledge with me. Every question was met with an answer. I felt like I was talking to enthusiasts, not just bored people at a job they never wanted. Perfect first time experience. Looking forward to coming back in 6 months! Cheers

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a dentist office - good luck if you ever need to…read morereschedule of have a question. The hygienists are clearly not well-trained and seem rushed and careless. The dentist's themselves are dismissive, barely spending any time with you. It's obvious this place is only interested in your money, not your health. I wouldn't trust them with a cleaning, let alone anything more serious. Avoid at all costs.

Unfortunately, I got a toothache when my regular dentist was closed. I desperately tried to "tough…read moreit out" until his business hours on Monday. I just couldn't do it. My husband suggested that he take me to a dentist he had tried when the same thing happened to him. Unfortunately, being new to Turlock, he called Turlock Dental Care which is a very similar name to the dentist office that he was trying to reach. They had an opening so he made an appointment for me. I felt very lucky to get it. Had I only known what was to come l would not have felt so lucky. This mistake would cost me about $10,000 in some unnecessary and some overpriced and quite frankly weird and bizarre dental procedures. Being a senior citizen on a fixed income, this is a big deal. While no one would like this, my husband and I, being retirees, have no way to make it back! The appointment time came and my husband drove me to the office. I must say that I was quite impressed with the fancy office and the initial treatment that I received. They are really good at fooling you into believing that they have your best interests in mind. This is not true. What they actually have in mind is fleecing you of as much cash as possible. After the first "consultation " they lead you to a little room much like a car dealership where you are presented with a bunch of papers to sign. They get you when you are in pain and vulnerable. The only "contract" that was legit was the first one which was for the extraction of the tooth that was causing the pain. The rest was for redoing procedures that were already done by my regular dentist and covered by Medi-Cal (like I said I am a retiree). Being in an extreme pain when questioned about how I would pay for said procedures (I was told that they do not take Medi-Cal no surprise there) I divulged some private information. I was then told to sign the big bundle of paper. Being in that kind of pain, I would and did sign anything. After realizing my terrible mistake, I knew that there was nothing that I could do about it. I figured that I might as well get what I had paid for done. On the final visit, the dentist said that he had time to do the procedure that we had talked about. He said that I should ask my husband who was sitting in the waiting room if we had time to do it. I said that I would text him and see. I had assumed that it was one of the procedures that I had already paid for. Unfortunately, it was not. The dentist said that he would prefer that I go to the waiting room to ask my husband. I now know that was so his employees would think that I asked him to spend another $2700 on a bizarre procedure. This was not the case. I thought that it was something on the list of things that I had already paid for. I went back in. I did not sign anything stating that I understood or agreed to this procedure. All that I know is that it involved running strips of metal between my teeth. This resulted in a chip to one of my front teeth (ironically he had said that if I didn't have this done my two front teeth would fall out) and my previously tight teeth having gaps between them where particles of food are now constantly being stuck. After the procedure was done, my husband and I were escorted to the billing area where we were told that we owed another $2700. My husband, of course, questioned this. The receptionist looked at me and said that I had agreed to it. She very smirky looked at me and said, "You know you did, Mary". I didn't say a word. I knew that there was no point arguing with these people. When I returned to my dentist, he said, "Why didn't you come to me." I told him that it was because he was closed. He also asked why I had had his work that he had just done the month before replaced. I told him that I didn't know that I had. Then I told him what had happened. I told him how my son-in-law had told me that I should have refused to pay. My dentist said that I had to pay. I said that I knew. Otherwise the police would be called. Don't be fooled by the fancy chandeliers. Turlock Dental Care does not have your best interests in mind. It is simply interested in separating you from as much of your hard earned cash as possible! BTW they will probably say that they have no record of me ever being in their office. My credit card statement says differently!
