This store is small, it is a bit sad even, one could certainly hope it one day gets a major upgrade that this town clearly needs. But it's almost homely in a sense. Many of the employees are absolutely wonderful, some notable names I recall from my visit was BobbieJo, Leslie, Larry, and Ashe, although many other employees were very kind and welcoming, however, there was a few notes about another employee that I feel was perhaps having a bad day, A tall individual, I didn't catch their name, was complaining rather loudly to a customer about quite a few things and giving seemingly snide remarks about other people, now I'm unsure if perhaps this worker was simply having a bad day or if this is their typical behavior- But as a first experience it wasn't all too pleasant, to hear a worker complaining and calling their fellow employees some rather not too kind words I would rather not repeat. Other than that general experience, the selection was sparce, but given the size of the store I wasn't all too surprised. Again the overall general review I give this place is that while it definitely needs some TLC and a Major upgrade for the towns sake- the people seem kind with a few exceptions and the store was at the very least, comforting in a small town charm way.

We stopped at this location on our way to Alturas, CA to pick up some croissants. After a quick tour of the store I asked a man who was adjusting the bread shelf if there was a bakery and he none too politely informed me there wasn't one. His demeanor was not a good first impression. The exterior store design is what I remember from my 1960's childhood and the interior is tight. I have been to many small towns with Safeway stores and they have the newer layouts that have all the departments mentioned above. Lakeview deserves the upgrade to a whole new store.

I have bought their cooked shrimpcto eat that night and twice it was rotten. The produce is not always great. The limes I just bought were dry. I needed three to get an ounce of juice. Then I spend 10 minutes logging into their app to get 2 dollars off a jar of pasta sauce. A saving grace is one time a woman working produce ask me if I needed help while I was logging in to get a digital coupon for a pineapple. She put a sticker on it with the sale price so I could move one with my day. It can be that easy.

Entering the state of Oregon means no sales tax for us Californians…read more We'd plan to be in Oregon for a week's stay so we wanted to load up on groceries. First thing first - refuel our gas tank. I used my sister's Fred Myer loyalty membership # to get a discount on gas. I think we saved three cents a gallon. The second time we didn't provide the number as it wasn't a big savings. In Oregon they have gas attendants to pump your gas. Years ago hubby got out of the car to pump gas and the attendant knew right away we were from California where we pump our own gas. Fred Myer is a like a Target, but on a larger scale. They sell clothes, garden supplies, household goods, food, bakery, deli etc. Their store layout is kind of weird. It's one floor. It looks more like an office building than a store at first glance. We saved $18 in groceries using my sister's Fred Myer loyalty membership #. The best edible was the Angel food cake found in the bakery department. I wished our local supermarket could replicate it.
