For instance the gentleman/Tommy who did my tattoo last night (Saturday 9/23/2017) took his time with my tattoo since it's a very detailed type of tattoo. I am very picky who does my tattoo work and how well the Tattoo business is inside of the location. Such as around the waiting room, tattoo area and how well the staff treat their customers. Trust me when I say this...I been most tattoo shops around the states and some of the shops are less to be desired for and for the other tattoo locations I''ve been to deserved to be mentioned and well spoken for. This location has plenty of parking and this tattoo location does get busy on the weekends so plan ahead and get your appointment scheduled with your desired tattoo artist and get tattooed or piercing of your choice. They have a bathroom and drink machine just in case you get thirsty or your guess that comes with you. This was my first time here to Beyond Taboo Tattoo since my Cousin who also loves tattoo's and is a current customer there as well. So I decided to my go with my cousin while he was waiting for his tattoo get started with his tattoo artist Tommy. I looked over the tattoo pieces they had in the books and wall area in the waiting room area. When I saw the tattoo on the wall I picked and went with it was something that looks great. Tommy took his time and did what he does best which is to make beautiful tattoo's come to life! Overall happy with Beyond Taboo Tattoo's? Yes, I am. No need for me to look elsewhere other than a tattoo/piercing shop!!! On a different note, I vented about how I had to wait for his shop to open and had called twice before leaving that side of town. Jesse is so calm. I declare! He says very politely that Panda took too long with his food and that he works alone on Wednesdays. But what does he do? He just turns right around and discounts my nose jewelry. He also says he can order my jewelry for me. He is an awesome person. Had he not done that, I still would say the same thing. Jesse was SO informative and kind about all things piercing--walked me through ways I can help heal my irritation bumps, jewelry length, type of jewelry that will help keep the skin calm, even told me that what I have is technically a "floating naval" which answered a lot of my questions about why it has been irritated and so hard to heal! I bought some new cleanser and a new jewelry piece for healing. Unfortunately, due to an interaction yesterday, I will not be supporting the business again. The artists name is Josh Cansdale.I came in on my birthday excited to possibly create an idea for a tattoo. The year prior, I had worked with the artist Jason Ansley, who was great, professional, kind, and willing to work with me, so I went in expecting a similar experience. I've also been pierced multiple times by both Mr. Smith and Mr. Davis, both of whom were awesome, professional, and kind. I came in trying to be easygoing and open to ideas. I had a general concept, wanted to talk it through, was willing to compromise, and genuinely wanted to incorporate the artist into the creative process. However, he seemed irritated from the beginning of our interaction. I remained calm and polite, but he repeatedly corrected me for not knowing tattoo terminology, despite me being the customer coming to a professional for guidance. He went back to draw the design, and while waiting, I overheard him complaining to colleagues about tattoos. Unfortunately, the first drawing wasn't my favorite, so I asked if we could instead focus on just one potential part of the tattoo. He again seemed frustrated, went back to draw it, and continued talking about the situation. At that point, I was becoming uncomfortable, so I asked when the artist I had previously worked with would be returning. I ultimately decided that I would rather wait until he returned instead of getting the tattoo that day. The artist became visibly upset, mumbled something that came across as very rude, and walked away. The entire interaction left me feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and uncomfortable, especially considering how positive my previous experiences here had been. I understand that artists can become frustrated and that not every artist and client will be a good fit, but I don't think a customer should be made to feel uncomfortable for asking for changes to something that will permanently be on their body. I took time to reflect and calm down before leaving this review because I didn't want to write it purely out of frustration. Unfortunately, after years of supporting this business and having otherwise positive experiences, this interaction was disappointing enough that I don't feel comfortable returning.
