I was so thoroughly impressed by the way my house and decks look that I hired them to paint my entire house, honestly the house is immaculately clean and my decks look like they were just built. The mildew and stains were washed out of both the house and decks. The interior painting of my house was done with the same perfection and care. I truly feel like I have a brand new home inside and out. If I could rate them higher I would. The words that keeps repeating out of my mouth are "WOW, everything looks so amazing."

We signed a $4400 contract with Miguel David Lopez (aka "David Painting and Handyman Service") on…read moreJuly 8, 2023 for power washing, replacing some rotted wood, posts and rails on our deck and we paid $1000 up front. The work was going very well until David sent us pictures of himself in the hospital after falling off a ladder on another job. We felt bad for him and sent very nice messages offering support. He recovered quickly and returned to our home in person to check out the job after we expressed that we were unhappy with the power washing of the deck because all of the wood was furred, one board was split, a new board was warped, and the deck was not even cleaned well. David assured us he would have his guys sand down the deck prior to staining it and that this would solve the problem. Trusting that David was a man of his word, and because the carpentry work overall seemed good we moved forward and paid him an additional $700 for power washing of the house which went well and we told David we were very happy with that job. However, after that we continually tried to reach David to find out when his guy would come back to complete the deck repairs, which consisted of replacing additional rotting wood, sanding and staining but all text messages and phone calls to David went unanswered. Until he sent us more pictures of himself, showing even more details of his fall from the ladder, and then did not respond to us at all. This made absolutely no sense to us, since he had already come by our house AFTER his accident and told us he was fine. At first, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and believing he was an honest person, we thought perhaps he had a relapse following his accident, but also did not understand why no one else reached out to let us know what was happening, not even his son, who had come by the job to supervise the power washing of the house. We have continued to try to reach David with absolutely no response! Then, we were very disappointed and upset to learn that he has been doing work for others all this time as evidenced by reviews they posted online when he was supposed to be finishing our deck work. There was no reason for him not to return to our job, because we worked very well together, and paid him upfront as he went along. Plus, we have a contract. David took our money, and never returned to our job, and never even offered any explanation or refund of our money for the damage to our deck. This is completely unprofessional and has cost us valuable time, and now we may not even get the deck done before winter. We also had a large window in the basement that David had measured twice (once before, and once after his accident) which he said he would have removed, reframed and replaced for us before the cold weather set in..... Obviously that is not happening now either. This is truly sad and I hate having to write this review, but we are tired of being taken advantage of by contractors. David knew our story of having to rebuild after a contractor nearly burned our home down during the height of the pandemic and the next contractor charged with rebuilder home did shoddy work and then walked off the job. We truly believed that we had finally found a fair and honest contractor in David and we had discussed other jobs at our house that he promised to also take care of for us. David talked a lot about God and honesty but in the end is no better than the last two contractors we had who also talked a good talk, but did not walk an honest walk. I have a message for David.... God sees all - so you should practice what you preach.

Aside from his skill and…read moreprofessionalism, he's very responsive--quick to reply to phone messages and quick to submit a proposal. This matters a lot! A carpenter friend referred us to Bob when we had a large set of built-ins custom made. They are backless, meaning they sit right up against the wall, and we hired Bob to paint them. The job itself was careful and professional--not a smear or a smudge on the back wall. He also used a type of finishing I'd never seen before, with a beautiful matte texture. No brush strokes! He and his crew were prompt, courteous, cleaned up great, and finished in a reasonable time. We liked Bob's work so well we asked him back to paint our living room, and the outcome was the same--beautiful work, meticulously done and without a spot of paint out of place. Bob goes the extra mile and you'll be proud to show off the work he does. We'll definitely hire him again.

He will not cut corners on you and his pricing is very competitive. You could pay a lot more, particularly in Westchester, and wind up with a lower quality job. Description of work: Prep and staining the exterior of a two story house including a very large deck. The deck had to be completely sanded down and needed primer then a top coat of decking stain. He also brought in a carpenter he works with to replace some rotting deck boards and fascia boards and rehang some gutters. It was great to have all of these repairs taken care of as part of the staining project and Bob managed everything.

It involved: pressure washing the brick; stripping and sanding stonework, some of which was previously painted; priming and painting our three-storey commercial building in a three-color scheme designed to highlight the building's Art Deco design. He started with a mess following the removal of the city-owned Pike Plan canopy that was attached to our building. The end result clearly shows his skill. While initially Bernie was hesitant given the height, he did the job well, without problem and well within our agreed-upon timeframe. We would gladly hire him and his team again.
