My primary care physician referred me to this clinic as an option to deal with the ongoing, chronic pain I was experiencing in my lower back from spinal degenerative disease. I have current imaging, including MRI and X-ray that confirms this diagnosis. I had my first appointment this morning (8/19/2024) and my experience was not only disappointing but made me feel like a criminal, instead of a patient needing help with pain.
Dr. Hill is cold and non-caring with zero compassion and zero respect for patients. He has no ability to communicate in a caring way. I went into this appt. with no expectations or demand for any specific medication.
6 years ago, I was stuck in New Orleans during a major hurricane and couldn't get out. I was at the end of my pain prescription (Percocet) and only had a 1 day supply left. My primary doctor was unable to call in any controlled substances to another state and I quickly went into unbelievable, painful withdrawals, as I was trying to stay safe during a dangerous storm. It was an incredibly difficult nightmare to experience. In the following days, still waiting to get back home, I was advised by my primary care physician to find a local NOLA doctor who could help me, which I did. Even after explaining all of this to Dr. Hill, he informed me that he or no pain management group in Nashville would help me, since I had a prescription of Suboxone from a doctor in another state.
As stated earlier, I had no expectations from Dr. Hill and understood his reasoning for denying me care. What was so disturbing was his complete disregard for me as a human being, especially a human being in pain. He basically threw me out of the exam room and said 'the exit's that way'. I understand how much these medicines are abused, but the drastic measures now in place only harm those that really need them for legitimate purposes. In the future, hopefully we'll see more care and compassion from doctors for those in pain and the Nazi approach will be toned down. I am not a criminal, as I felt leaving Dr. Hill's practice. I am only a human seeking any options that will help me feel good enough to function as a productive and happy person.
By the way, opiates have never killed anyone; only the folks who misuse them can do that. We should be treating addiction and other mental illnesses to help those people, rather than causing unnecessary suffering to those of us in legitimate pain, through extreme government overreach.
I would not advise anyone to set foot in this 'medical' practice. read more
