I stayed here over at Aruba Bay on Labor Day weekend and unfortunately had a very disturbing experience. The apartment was infested with cockroaches--so many that they were even crawling on the bunk bed where my child was sleeping. He developed a rash from the insects crawling on his legs. Management attempted to "treat" the unit, but never informed me that this meant we needed to vacate for four hours. Even after the treatment, the roaches remained everywhere. When I asked for another unit, they told me nothing was available. Instead, they offered only $50 toward a future stay, which is completely unacceptable given the circumstances. A place that cannot ensure basic cleanliness, safety, and transparency with guests should not be renting accommodations. I would strongly caution others against staying here. read more

We own at El Constante and use Padre Escapes as our management company. They make it easy and effortless for us by being quick to respond and helpful. Melissa is especially helpful, replying to emails and phone calls of various questions and concerns. We try to get to the condo at least once a month and are always please with the cleanliness of the condo and how it is well maintained. We are happy with the management that Padre Escapes provides to us. read more

We booked to stay at smugglers cove. Got in and the house was hot. They have signs everywhere saying give it several hours to cool down. Ok, turned it to 71 it was currently 76 in the house. We go to the pool hoping it would be cool when we get back. Got back in and it was still 76. We checked in at 4:30 bc check in time is 4p offices close at 7pm I think is what I was told( after the fact) ok maybe we didn't wait long enough let's cook dinner. Cook dinner, eat, shower now it's 9pm and we are getting concerned. It's 80 in the house now. I message them via airbnb (recommended form of communication) no response all night. At 11pm it was 83-84 in the house. There is only one window and it's across the house. They cut all the ceiling fan cords short and this is a vaulted ceiling. I climbed on my husband's shoulders barely reaching and turned the fans on higher. Didn't help. There are signs that say in case on an emergency call some number but I'm just gonna say emergency to me is flood fire injury. Not hey it's too hot. And honestly what are they gonna do at midnight. 7am rolls around I call the number bc now it's 84-85 in the house. Oh and the sink is clogged and we had to brush our teeth inThe kitchen. They send a guy over he can't fix anything. He left to get someone else and a portable cooler ( didn't help at all) send a plumber out those 2 people fix the sink. I'm trying to cook my family breakfast and enjoy my morning with my family and it's ruined by heat and people in and out all day. Ok, we go to the beach and we're told people were going to be in and out all day be waiting for phone calls blah blah. While we are gone an ac guy goes in and "fixes" the ac. We get a call saying everything is fixed. A couple hours later we go back to the house and it's 87!!! Call them again. They send another ac guy out he tells us that it can't be fixed. I call padre escapes and they are like ok let us call you back. 45 mins later they call and say that don't have any other rentals to put us in. We can keep staying there for a discounted rate. I asked over and over what that would be and they could never tell me. Or I could cancel and get ALL my money back and find somewhere else to stay. It is the weekend before Fourth of July. We have been HOT for 2 days and I'm suppose to find another place wow ok. I told them let me look found 4 places way more expensive than we planned but finally found one and she was quick and amazing. I call padre escapes back ok I found somewhere, yall are giving me all my money back?!? Yes ma'am we have to work something with air bnb it takes a couple days blah blah. Fine whatever. Get to the new place it's great. Next day I'm sent 447$ out of my 1100$ I paid. Messaged them back n and forth for days during my whole vacation. Basically it comes down to I paid 149$ a night. They aren't giving me the money back from the night I stayed. I said it should be given back but if not at least discounted. Never answered me on that. They didn't give me my dog fee back had to fight for that. Now I understand taxes and services fees but here is what also pissed me off. At 200$ cleaning fee for one night we were there and we found popsicle trash in the beds and ice cream trash next to the furniture. Also they have a dumbass policy where they aren't aloud to make the top bunks so when you get there you have to do it. Again my vacation has not been relaxing. I went to double check my rental agreement and it was conveniently expired I couldn't read it. Had to ask for a copy. It's full of blanket statements that basically says what happens when you screw up but not when they do. The house was poorly stocked. Worst I have ever stayed in. They have some excuse to not provide even salt and pepper blaming it on some Texas commissions bullsh**. Seriously they don't care about anyone. LAST THING!!! Remember them telling me on Thursday night that they didn't have any other rentals they were all booked?? They posted on face book " last available rental for this weekend call us now" they screwed us over so bad. See the pics below. If you book a trip and padre escapes is the management... This place has a 2.3 star rating, which is very generous. I dont take the time to share my experiences with the general public unless i believe it might protect someone else from having the same bad experience. The worst part of this experience was dealing with the host. If you remember the soup nazi from Sinefeld you have a pretty good idea. I stayed in unit 111 and the ad made it sound like your assigned parking would be in front of your condo but turned out to be the other side of the parking lot. The bed was horrible and the pull out couch was even worse. Do not stay here if you have any other options. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS ~ TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF Falsely advertised as a 5 bedroom, that sleeps 13. Was a lot smaller than described, especially when it said 5 bedroom & was only 4. Called management immediately & the lady was argumentative & said we rented it as a 4 bedroom? I asked if there was a 5 bedroom available given we showed up on a hurricane weekend? She said NO. Not true & there was so many Knick knacks & furniture we had to hide stuff in closets Moving ON.......upon arriving the only towels were on the ends of beds. ONLY I towel for the twin bunks & no pillow cases & each queen or king bed only had 2 towels each. I told the lady there weren't even enough towels for all 13 of us? She offered no solutions! I also mentioned we didn't have pillow cases on half our beds. DURING COVID-19 this is REQUIRED. During covid the cleaning should be more on POINT? This place was pretty dirty from the AC vents, ceiling fans & to top it off not enough soap or towels? We would've brought our essentials if we would've known. So I asked her if she could adjust our price bcuz we also got gauged at $650 a night, yet upon checking in is advertised at $397 a night? They did NOT even email us our details on the 72hr cancellation until 5pm the day before our trip. We were trying to figure out if we could cancel since a hurricane was expected? We were told if we canceled we loose 50%? 1. Gauging during pandemic & hurricane 2. False advertising & misrepresenting from towel shortage, pillowcases & 1 whole bedroom? 3. Below is feedback on unit 298: 1 bathroom tub facet temperature control is challenging ie too hot or freezing cold 2 unit 198 (beneath unit 298) beeped every 30 seconds for three days and nights 3 the sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable and will not accommodate two adults 4 dogs (a dachshund and white lab ) in unit below us barked through out the early morning and day and ran loose on the grounds 5 the second floor hall light was out when we arrived so we couldn't see the front door lock box without a flashlight ie a safety concern as well as an inconvenience 6 The workout room was dirty and disorganized 7 the entry door threshold to the 4 units is loose and is a trip hazard We realize it's offseason, but we are disappointed with the overall experience. We expected quiet and comfort yet there are maintenance and code enforcement issues which ruined the experience. read more

Worst experience ever, booked a weeks vacation a month ago and 24hrs before check in a receive a text stating that my stay was canceled and that there was no spare rentals available. Keep in mind that it's 4th of July week and everything is booked now, there response is I'm sorry and we will be glad to refund your money in 3 to 5 business days. I would not recommend Padre Escapes Rental to my worst enemy, if I could I would give them a half star review. Sent an email out to them earlier today and have yet to have customer service respond, goes to show how they feel about their customers. I read some of the other reviews on here and was shocked and horrified! I have booked my summer beach trip through Padre Escapes for several years and have NEVER had a bad experience. I think I have stayed with them 8 times and have tried almost all the different complexes and buildings they offer. EVERY SINGLE PLACE has been impeccably clean (and I'm PICKY!), fully stocked, and beautifully decorated. The call center is ALWAYS efficient, polite, and readily available. We have had unexpected late arrivals a few times, and Padre Escapes has ALWAYS been accomodating and Johnny-on-the-spot to get things figured out for us! In fact, once I booked my first trip through Padre Escapes, I have never even contemplated using someone else. They have ALWAYS exceeded my expectations! From reading the other reviews, my advice would be to strictly book through Padre Escapes - NOT AirBnB. (I have nothing against AirBnB; I just know Padre Escapes has never steered me wrong when it comes to their beach properties.). Also, keep in mind, staying at a beach condo DURING A HURRICANE is not really the best time to evaluate a company's "normal' standards. Hurricanes are a tricky business! read more

Property was so so people in the office were nice We rented a property in the Puente Vista subdivision which was managed by Padre Escapes. Marketed as having a twin bed when in reality it was a twin mattress that had we wanted to use it, there wasn't a lot of floorspace for it to go. Property itself was very dirty-couch had food stuck to it, showers had other peoples hair still in it, standing water in one of the balconies, etc.etc.. We ended up checking out a day early and when we mentioned the mattress not being a bed, the lady said she would have the manager call us and never did. Disappointed in this stay overall and not sure if we'd rent a property they managed again..I can't believe someone would look at the condition of the property and let it be rented like it was. read more

This is a zero rating! First impression of Texas's work ethics wasn't worth driving 2000 miles to see. This place was the worst kept condo I've ever stayed at! Avoid these people with all cost. Yes they did give us the cleaning fee back. But if I get home and I see roaches in my gear I'm gonna see how much they pay to fumigate my home! No wifi! AC unit sux! Absolute worst coffee maker ever! Refrigerator froze everything inside! Lemons and tomatoes was like baseballs. The smell of musty smoked air was so bad a trip to cvs near by just to get some air freshener. We stayed at nemos in the past had great time at the town home condos but this year this company failed. We stayed in 15150 in front of the pool. Amber did help us get into condo around 1. That was helpful but entering condo. It had a musky odor. The couches had some stains on them. There were no instructions for tvs all remotes were missing backings. The powder rooms came with 1 towel per person. They had no compilentary shampoos or conditioners just soap. We had access to wash but I was washing all weekend. Instead relaxing I was working. The downstair had ants and the upstairs had ants in the room. On top of that the main TV went out. We called it in but they couldn't fix it. We asked to move a TV but they couldn't because all mounted to walls. We were disappointed last year experience was top notch . That was a private Host(rented fr Vrbo). If comparing to Padre escapes the service was horrible and not welcoming when renting from them. We don't believe we will be Back. read more

I think Padre Escapes is the worst place to book. I was supposed to leave Thursday and stay through Sunday. I have been paying attention to the weather and a bad storm is coming in. I tried to cancel 24 hours in advance but I got denied. They declined my full refund of $1300.00 and wouldn't even give me half of it back. I know you should cancel "72" hours in advance but with a bad tropical storm coming...you think there would be an exception! So do not book with them unless you want to lose your money!!! read more

This stay was interesting. The condo has a pretty good floor plan and overall the furniture and kitchen isn't bad, but, the bathrooms were disgusting. There was mold and hair in our bathtub and none of us wanted to touch anything in there. Just unsanitary and gross. When we got to the condo there was also a bunch of sand in the bed...Really unsettling. There also just needs some general touch ups in the condo. There's random stains on the walls and doors and chipped paint everywhere. Generally, it is affordable, so you kind of get what you pay for, but if you get grossed out easily i would just pay a little more to stay somewhere else. read more

The customer service is horrible especially the receptionist named Emily.After going on here and reading some of the reviews this is a normal for them. They had already taken the $1900 payment but said we have to reach out to AirBnB for it. Super let down when we arrived that the place looks nothing like the shining star portrayed on the website. The facility is run down and poorly maintained. There was an old mattress that sat out on the curbside the entire week we were there. They have a strict no trailer policy that is only listed in the boat section of the rental agreement. Not owning a boat I did not see this. After towing a 5x8 cargo trailer almost 400 miles I find out it will be towed if I park it in 1 of the 2 provided parking spots. We contacted management and were told to park it on the street. Unfortunately the street has no place for parking so I ended up spending an additional $125 to park at the local boat yard/storage area 5 miles down the road. The rental company has installed a nest thermostat which would up the air to 78 degrees every time we left the room. There was mold in the master bathroom around the base boards and on the ceiling. The hot tub was inop and the pool had random tiles laying loose In the bottom. The walkways to and from the room were filthy with gum stuck all over the place. On the final day we left to go out for the day only to return and find ourselves locked out of the room. After 20min on the phone we managed to get the people to understand that our check out wasn't until the next morning. All-in-all very poor customer service with very little regard for their tenants. The five-day stay here was not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, and in no way do I feel as if I got my moneys worth. We stayed at a condo at the Nemo Cay property. We brought 2 cars and our unit advertised 2 private parking spaces in front of the unit. The numbering on one of them was so light that other people were constantly parked in it. My husband had to park in the street and we had to call the towing company ourselves to get the space freed up one night. When the tow truck showed up at least 5 other people ran out to move their cars because people park there that aren't staying there. I assume to use the pool since it was packed with people partying every night and we were unable to enjoy that amenity at all. read more

I know what a good property manger brings to the table which is why I value the service as long as the service promised matches the service delivered. Padre Escapes surpasses my expectations and has provided consistent exceptional service. Not all roads are smooth. When I had to have a refrigerator replaced, the repair team worked patiently with me while I secured a fridge that would fit in my award space. Any time I call the office for an update to an owner reservation they have been available and offered great customer service in the adjustments to my schedule. They offer seasonal checks for things like worn out batteries, burnt out lightbulbs and filter replacements to ensure our guests have a fantastic engagement in our space. Thank you to all at padre escapes that ensure my property is well cared for and that I am valued as an owner. DISPLACED BY HARVEY STAYING AT #317 SPINNAKER. We were told the unit was not available for rent because of water damage to the ceilings. Nothing else available- we'll take it $1750 for the month. The ceilings were not the problem... No A/C first evening Broken kitchen faucet - 2 days to replace Blocked disposal - 3 days to replace Flilthy food encrusted kitchenware (I mean everything) Flooring sticky all over 4 bath towels and no change of sheets for 4 adults and a child for 1 month We literally had to bring a steam cleaner in to clean flooring, washed all linens and kitchware while we are commuting daily to slop mud out of our Hurricane damaged homes in Port Aransas then dealing with insurance claims in the evening. We are extremely thankful for a roof over our heads and there are some delightful employees (Emily) at Padre Escapes, but over all this is probably the most ill equipped property I have ever rented. The lack of qualified maintenance people is apparent along with substandard housekeeping. read more

Unfortunately very disappointed. I had planned this trip for my two foster boys that have never been to the beach. They were so excited about spending the whole weekend at the beach. But due to a power outage we had to leave a day early. I was not about to have my small children in a hot condo where they would be in danger. We drove home to San Antonio. I then reached out to the lease agent and they said there was nothing they could do to refund me a night. They gave me a $100 which was not even close to the $1000 I spent. This is not the way I do busy definitely not about family or doing the right thing. I will never stay at this place again. I have used Padre Escapes several times to rent at the El Constante. I was pleased with the ease of communication. My only challenge was making sure I arrived before the front-desk closed in the evening so that I could get my key-code and pool bands. However, they were willing to stay a little late for me if needed. For return customers, they also offer a discount. I have no complaints. This is our first year at the beach club condos with Padre escapes. I cannot say enough good things about the service. They answer all requests promptly and fix etc. We needed a replacement coffee pot, and got it in 10 minutes. The carpet was stained and they got it shampooed in one day (that should have been done before we moved in). A drawer broke and they sent someone within the hour. The cleaning service they use doesn't look up or down, so we had to clean the blinds and the very dusty ceiling fans. The pool here is great and they have "winter Texan happy hour" on Tuesdays so the northerners can meet. This condo complex is a short walk to the beach. We have already reserved this same unit for next winter. read more

We used Padre Escapes to rent a condo at The Beach Club. The location was exceptional...only a 3-5 minute walk to White Cap Beach!! The service, renting process, communication and check-in was very good and efficient. Our condo was well decorated, cozy and had all the amenities noted in the description. While "surface clean", the place could use a deep clean...appliances, shelves, baseboards, vents etc. were pretty dirty and the place smelled musty. That is the reason for a 3 vs. a 4 and also because of the exorbitant fees charged for pets. $100 per pet (non-refundable) plus a $50 cleaning fee. I understand a cleaning fee and a pet deposit (refundable), but not a $100 per pet fee. I asked what the fee went to since there was already a cleaning fee and it was explained the fee goes towards... "additional upkeep and maintenance required of spaces that experience high pet traffic. While cleaning usually resolves these issues, the risk of wear and tear does increase with the presence of pets. The pet fee does duplicate, for example: if you are travelling with two pets to a property that allows up to two, there will be two pet fees". Excessive in my opinion and unfortunately the reason we probably won't rent here again :-( read more

They wait 3 days before my arrival and after I the signed the contract agreeing to the rate THEY quoted to say that the rate was wrong and they were going to charge my credit card more money for their mistake. And because I would not accept their terms for their mistake they cancelled my booking! I am contacting BBB, Texas Attorney General, and my attorney! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!!!! I booked a trip to stay with Padre Escapes during their "72 hr worry free no questions asked- 100% refund back period" in July for Aug 1-7th. I needed to move my trip out two weeks, so I went on Airbnb and requested that change on my listing. I waited and waited and it was never approved. The 72 hours was quickly approaching and after numerous phone calls with no answer and mind you the mailbox is FULL and you can not leave a message, I had to cancel the trip completely. The refund amount was only $172! They have had a ZERO response rate with me regarding this and this over a 5 day period now. I obviously have been In touch with my credit card company And Airbnb, have sent the contract to them and working on getting my 100% refund back, but it's a PAIN. My kids were looking forward to the beach and over 1,000k is tied up now. I also received several scam emails saying my payment was not processed and to re-enter my credit info that were by Padre Escapes, when my payment had in fact gone through. I messaged them and called them about this, no response. I wish I would have had a better experience, please beware. read more

Had a guys trip planned for 7/24-7/26 and booked a townhouse that sleeps twelve. Had half the group bail the week of check in and was given the option to reschedule to several weekends, all of which had no availability for a group our size. It's the Thought that counts right? I know we were inside our deadline, but the entire island was closed and there was a HURRICANE. Ended up going since we couldn't get a refund. House was really cool. Unfortunately, the power went out about half way through the weekend and made the miserable trip even worse. Tried to get some kind of consideration on a credit for a future stay and got a big ol Tough Luck from the office. Again, I know what the policy is, but they could've been a little more accommodating given the circumstances. Will not be back. read more

Family of six drove three hours to no place to stay..."I'm sorry" that's all I got... The reason why was apparently booking.com and padre escapes calendar didn't update and the report the manager apparently ran on Thursday didn't show my reservation, so she says....Guess she was too busy to help us find another location.."I'll call you"...haha...I know what that means...I will not use Padre Escapes or booking.com in the future...only good thing is I didn't get charged the cancellation fee...Sad.. read more

Since our last review, things got so much better!!!!! They worked with us on getting a condo to comp us for the weekend and we got a great one!!!!! My partner and I stayed, and tacked on a third night. The service was so much better, the condo was fabulous, as the previous ones had been, and we loved our stay, even though we had to return one night early due to an emergency. We have since referred a few friends there and all have said they too enjoyed the stay (as I followed up with them to make sure their stay was pleasant) and we will certainly give them a third chance.....and hopefully a fourth and fifth and so on. I highly recommend working with Jeremy as he has been very nice and helpful since this all has happened. It was rocky at first, but I am glad that they were able to rectify the situation and give us an opportunity to have a wonderful Anniversary weekend. We stayed in Padre Escapes Beach View and enjoyed our stay. Nice condo, a bit of a walk to the beach so we actually drove (young kids and elderly gma.) Bring your own pillows and sheets, theirs were rock hard. Pretty decor, reasonable amenities, we were satisfied given the price point. Only one bathroom has a tub. Has a small washer & dryer which was super helpful. Dishwasher was awful. Bedrooms and house itself was a good use of space. Rugs shed like a hairy dog. Was what we needed it to be, but not anything above and beyond that. read more

Horrible unethical sketchy company! Upon arrival we learned that our beach front unit wasn't available (this is a very reoccurring theme with the company). They offered a "nicer" one around the corner for the same price. It was multiple blocks away in a parking lot with a crappy pool. It was even listed as far less than our original one and the company was going to make us pay the same price as the beach front! After hours wasted they eventually offered a very paltry discount (they should have been embarrassed by the amount and their effort). We were only staying 2 nights so we didn't want to waste time checking out and scrambling for another condo for one night. We figured we would just make the best of it. When we got the new bill they charged more! They doubled the fees! So we then spent what time we had left on hold until we finally just went back to the actual office for the 2nd time! We spent our vacation trying to get them to fix their mistakes. I strongly advise not staying at any property managed by this company. Your chances of getting what you paid for is iffy and you will waste all your time trying to get it fixed. read more

Absolutely a horrible business to deal with! They moved us from a beach front condo that slept 6 at El Constante (which was damaged from Hurricane Hanna, no fault of theirs) to a mosquito infested townhouse next to a channel that slept 8, telling us the townhouse was within "walking distance" to the beach. Not true...it was 3 blocks away from the beach. They tried to sell the idea that we were getting an upgrade for the same amount of money we spent for the beachfront condo because the townhouse slept 8 when we still had only 4 people in our group! We paid for beachfront access and didn't get it. Then, they withdrew more money out of my bank account than what the condo contracted for. They said they would refund money, but only refunded enough for the difference in price from the condo to the townhouse. They increased the charges for reserving the townhouse (which we did not do~ they moved us) and the cleaning fees, so we didn't get much of a 'discount' for having to move to a lesser place. In the 48 hours we were in Padre Island, I was on the phone with them 3 times and in their office 2 times trying to fix this. Their responses were either, "oops, we didn't mean to do that" or "that's the best we can do". At first I thought the employees were incompetent, but no, they have devious business practices. read more

Terrible service. They double-book their properties and don't respond to messages. I arrived on the day of our booking and had messaged and called leaving voicemails about key codes. No reply. The condo just happened to be around the corner from their offices so I went and asked them. They said that even though my reservation was confirmed with Airbnb they did not get the information and double booked. They said it was a problem with their system but blamed Airbnb. They said it has been happening a lot lately. They did not have any other property to accommodate our large group and left us high and dry. They laughed it off like a small glitch. Not a small glitch to those of us that traveled hours to enjoy the weekend. I've never had any issue with Airbnb so this sound more like poor property management. We have been big fans of El Constante for the past 20 years. This visit has completely changed my mind. Since Padre Escapes took over management it has become pricier and gone downhill. Paying premium price for a beachfront 2 bedroom condo we experienced a day and night of a loud large party at the pool, parking their cooler on the edge of the pool and openly drinking can after can of beer (against the rules..no alcohol at the pool & right in front of the office) with loud music. Pool closes at 10:30 with quiet time observed...Uhhhh Noooo. Party continued until 1:30 am. When I reported to the office in the morning they said they 'talked to them'. I asked who to call if it happened again, they said the police. Quote 'We havenosecurity, just call the police. I called Padre Escapes and got a very snarky reply...not their problem.... I will no longer book any place run by this company. They absolutely do not care. read more

For the past 5 years we have vacationed at corpus christi and used the services of padre escapes. They manage several properties and have found them all to be top notch. Usually when we come to town either for a quick weekend get away, we stay with them. The cost usually is cheaper than a nice room at a hotel. The place we like to stay at the most is on the water at Lake padre which contects to the packery channel. Seascape villa has boat slips that are great to keep our 28 foot cuddy cabin boat in. At the dock I have seen people catch anything from speckled trout to a 4 foot tarpon. They always have the unit clean and in order when we arrive. Their staff is always friendly and happy to help us. We really enjoy the one stop shop for vacation rentalals. read more

we have stayed at padre escapes for 3 years. if anything goes wrong they are right there and makes sure everything runs smooth. i have never been disappointed in my stays. i rent for several months. the only problem i have with them is what to chose as there are so many beautiful units..there are units designed for all age groups including children themes. you will not be disappointed. there is not more than a 10 minutes drive to the furthest beach. everything is cleaned, the grounds are clean and i never once saw a bug. i highly recommended padre escapes. they will work with you till you find the rental that meets your needs. read more
