My family has been going to Rollie's for years. It's a real family-owned local business place that…read moreis so rare these days. It's so refreshing to drive right down the street from the city and into a little patch of rural farm loveliness that is also rare in Lowell now. The staff are so friendly and they clearly are enjoying their time making the whole experience one for your family to remember. Sometimes they have hot cocoa available. They encourage you to take your time and take pictures among the trees and are great about bantering and chatting with you as they drive you on the tractors up to the trees. They're also great about letting you know any info on the different types of trees they're have available. Their team of tree cutters will chop down your chosen tree, trim it up if you want, shake off the loose needles, and load it back up onto the tractor to be packaged up nicely in mesh for the ride home. Trees are cash only and prices are more than your average tree lot trees; $10 a foot. BUT! The trees are full, beautifully-shaped (no bald spots!), and they truly last for forever, smell fantastic, and don't lose all their needles within a week. We typically get our tree the first weekend of December and have it up with barely any fallen needles until mid January. Honestly, even if they lasted half the time for the same price, we'd still go to Rollie's because it is such a fun, relaxed experience to tuck away each year for a family memory.

I'm SO sad to find out this place has closed! One of the best tree farms in the southern NH/Mass…read moreline area!! Possibly more than that, this place was EPIC. You could find any size of any type of tree you would want! Not only could you search on your own, you could either cut it down or have someone else cut it down for you with a ride to the front where they shake it out and bundle it up for you! $10/ft. Best tree farm. I will miss it dearly

After years of using some tried and true Christmas tree farms in Massachusetts, we found ourselves…read morein dire straights this year. A friend stumbled across the website for this tree farm and let us in on his secret find. The farm apparently has been around for 20 years though it is new to us. The sign and entrance are not all that visible from the main street and Waze has the location off slightly, but after traveling down the winding drive you're treated to an expansive view of Christmas trees dotting a bucolic farm that abuts stabled horses and broad open fields. The owners are extremely accommodating and quite proud of the variety of trees they grow. Compared to the average tree farm, it does appear that Riverwind has a much broader variety including an interesting Turkish fir tree that is very full and composed of rich, deep green colored needles. My family and I had a lot of fun walking along the various fields including crossing a small river to reach the most remote areas of the farm. The trees are not on top of each other like at other farms and there are a variety of sizes available from as short as 5 feet to his tall is 15 feet. Only tagged trees are available for purchase and the prices weren't cheap but were by and large on par with other tree farms. The sales hut has handmade and manufactured Christmas ornaments. Homemade wreaths and greens are available as well. In addition there was free hot chocolate, hot cider, and cookies for the kids. The staff have all-terrain vehicles available that I think could be used to help haul your tree if you are unable to use the hand wagons they provide. Saws are also supplied if you don't bring your own. The staff provide complementary tree trimming, shaking and netting and will bring your tree to your car. I'm not certain they'll actually secure it to your car though since I had brought my own straps and did it myself. The owners pay close attention to details with the netting being green and red in color as opposed to the standard orange. I almost regret writing this post as I figure the masses will learn of this great farm and we'll be on the hunt again next year for a new Christmas tree source. Finally, there were some ready cut trees available for those who can't find their ideal tree or don't wish to cut their own.
