Losing a parent is incredibly hard, but they handled everything with such a high level of dignity and grace that it truly eased some of the burden for us. Communication: From the very first call, I felt heard and supported. They were incredibly patient with all of my questions and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind. The Process: I found their approach to be very modern, transparent, and straightforward. There was never any pressure or "salesy" feeling, just genuine empathy and a focus on what my mother and our family needed. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Honor Cremation, for taking such wonderful care of my mom.

Customer service: 5/5 Value: 3.5/5 Execution: 5/5 From a service standpoint, they excellent. The team is available 24 hours via phone and text. For the majority of my work with them, they were extremely responsive, had good pass downs between shifts and team members, and worked to meet all our needs and timelines. They never pressured us into anything or upsold us. They just wanted to support whatever we needed. My family needed an expedited cremation and memorial all within a week of my family member passing and Honor Cremations was able to make that happen and get the paperwork done with the county in that timeframe. Honor's paid casket option was cheaper than other crematories and was a very nice, presentable casket. Honor does not embalm in house but has embalming providers they can work with. The only reason I would hesitate to select Honor again is because other crematories were more cost effective (up to $1000 cheaper for our package selections), but Honor did what they could to reduce costs and provide flexible options and offerings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others if service and empathy is a top priority.

Being part of a large, multi-generational family, I have unfortunately found myself attending services there at least once a year for much of my life. As an adult, I've had the responsibility of taking a more hands-on role in funeral planning, and I'd like to share three experiences. The first was for my uncle--while not related by blood, he was absolutely family. There was significant family drama leading up to the service, including a grandchild sending threatening messages. When the staff became aware of the situation, they handled it with professionalism and care, arranging for support to be on standby if needed. Thankfully, it wasn't necessary, but Paul was fully prepared to take care of it. The second experience was a little over a year ago, when I was making arrangements for my own mother. Paul, the owner, sat with me through the process. He and his staff were incredibly professional and compassionate. Paul made sure I understood all my options and gently reminded me to take my time--he made it clear he was there for me, without rushing me at all. The third experience was about two months ago, when I was there in my professional capacity as a minister. I was asked to support a husband making arrangements for his wife. I watched as a man, in deep grief, struggled to process what was being said. For the first time, I wasn't the family member making decisions--I was observing. The staff at Chapel of the Highlands handled everything with patience, professionalism, and genuine care. Walking through these difficult moments is never easy, but it brings comfort knowing that Paul leads a team that is caring, hardworking, and professional. While I wish I never had to return under such circumstances, I know I will continue to trust and recommend their services to anyone going through such a difficult time.

Authorized by Congress as a result of being voted by the residents of San Francisco to stop the opening of new cemeteries within their city... the GG National Cemetery was constructed. When I used to live in the Bay Area and my home church was in San Bruno we used to pass by the cemetery on Sundays. Last Monday we stopped on Memorial Day and drove inside. This was my first time inside the cemetery. It is huge! Respect and honor to all heroes. Large flags were displayed for Memorial Day. They were raised around the base of the hill in the center of the cemetery. Hundreds of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and others planted flags in front of cemetery graves. It was a beautiful sight to see the sea of flags honoring our fallen heroes. Somber reminder of how many gave so much for our freedoms. Notable famous grave is that of FADM Chester Nimitz (Battle of Midway). Also buried here, a sad part of San Francisco history, was the assassin of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Councilman Harvey Milk, Dan White. He was a sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. Review #2596

I was assigned a different person some young man who told me my mother could not be buried with her husband, as was her last wish. She was a well respected Doelger Senior Center volunteer and state of California public service retiree. My father was a decorated war hero and this situation is just shameful.

I know she must deal with a lot of people like that but it's normal to be histeric about where you will put your loved one, let alone a sibling. Otherwise, smooth. We didn't do a service as we don't have much family here. I did find that they put a "neighbor" too close to ours. Not even a foot difference. And plenty of space to the other sides. Not a fan of that. Wish they could scoot it over a bit so we have more space for our activities. Every other stone is fairly spaced like a foot except ours. On my recent visit here, my friends were putting their parent to rest on a recent Sunday morning, a norm these days, given our ages now. It is not a large place like other mortuaries in the area but we were able to fit a little over a hundred in their service room. As you enter, there is a reception area where a table was set up with snacks and a drink and coffee station to the side. The staff was pretty low key as these type of events become more of a reunion besides remembering the departed. The program started on time and went smoothly, with a slideshow with moving clips along with background music ran on a loop. After the eulogies were read and guests paid homage to the departed and her family, we were led outside. The gravesite was a pretty good hike from the building as our entourage followed the hearse. The staff who guided the hosts through the service were friendly, patient, and appreciative of guests who helped. The only criticism is that the graveyard crew seemed a bit disorganized as the shovel loader was not in position to make the burial process smooth. Overall, for a smaller mortuary, they make the program pretty seamless.
