Absolutely terrible experience. Have been in real estate for many years, dealt with many agents, I…read moremade the mistake of hiring Jeff Ortman. It was negative from the start. Jeff didn't like the fact that our caretaker didn't speak english which was bizarre. He does speak english, and Spanish. He became irate because the housekeeper wasn't finished in time for his photos. He was verbally abusive...I should have fired him immediately. I made the mistake of giving him 3 more months. He didn't attend the few showings we had on the property (he made a point of saying it wasnt in our agreement and he didn't have to)and after another agent pointed out that he mapped our property improperly on MLS (showing it across the highway instead of on the ocean!) he neglected to update the mapping and left as is. We literally had another agent tell us this, and point out he obviously doesn't care. It gets much worse...we fired him almost a month ago yet he refuses to remove our home from MLS. He sent us an invoice for his time demanding that we pay him or he refuses to remove the home from MLS. I contacted the broker Cindy Kennedy, left her a message without even a returned call. All of this is a testament to horrible ethics, can you how they would handle a negotiation if they ever found a buyer...I have been at this for 20 years and bought and sold many houses. Don't even think about hiring these people. I didn't even know them and have never met them in person. Brutal. PA I wonder what they are saying to agents and buyers who call on a house they were instructed to remove from MLS weeks ago. I am going to sue them.

We tried to buy a house using them as the agent. They were the worst company I have dealt with in…read moremany transactions. From the beginning we were told outright lies: - they said it was fully permitted, but the Planning Department proved otherwise - they said there was no logging nearby, but the adjoining property was MRC with a logging easement 20 feet from the bedroom - they said it had never been surveyed, but we found markers and 2 calls got us to a guy who had recently done a survey - they misrepresented clear conflicts out interest between them and the seller - these are only a few of the examples of deliberate deceit. We really wanted the property but backed out when they wouldn't allow time for us to check the property line with respect to the well.

If you ever dream of seeing the Sonoma Coast - and enjoying the views that you see on the postcards…read more- then come here. Sea Ranch Resort has breathtaking room views of the beach and windswept bluffs overlooking the Pacific ocean waves. They are a smaller resort with ~14 rooms, but they do have interior and exterior event spaces for small weddings or corporate events. Their restaurant features farm produce from their own farm (just down the road!). I definitely want to come back and spend a weekend!

I write that upfront as a caveat emptor/grain-of-salt cliche disclaimer. In short, I'm totally looking four or five different gift horses in the mouth. But honesty is the best policy trumps obsequiousness in my book, at least when it comes to writing reviews, and I know my brother would understand, so on with the review. It's so disappointing, but that's probably because I didn't come here until I was an adult. If I had started coming as a child, it would still be as magical as Carmel is to me, even though I now know better. The nature is gorgeous and lush and also sparse and unforgiving. Way fewer large trees grow here than you would expect, but maybe they also merciless cut them down to prevent people's views from being blocked? I don't know. It's just not as green as I expect it to be, but I'm a native Californian, so I love my browns and yellows as well as my greens when it comes to grasses and ground cover more generally, and the coveys of quails that often bathe in the ruts left by car tires delight me every time I see them. Our state birds are so flirtatiously frivolous. It's a wonder they survive at all. The architecture of most of the houses really appeals to me, despite how annoying some of the architectural failures (mostly small) are. The difference between architecture and art is that taking too many risks in architecture can actually kill people, and thankfully, the worst excesses of bad architecture here have to do with poor material choices, so premature rotting, excessive leaking, etc. You know, stuff that architects designing buildings along an unforgiving shoreline are supposed to take into account? Yes, that stuff. I love how far apart the houses are from one another, and that there seems to be no rhyme or reason so their relative siting. The entire area just feels like something out of a 1,200-page romance novel set in medieval times or the setting for an RGP video game that I would play too much of as an early teenager or like the entirety of England seemed to me for most of my semi-voracious-reader childhood. It's darkish and spooky and foggy--but not as foggy as you think--and flat. It's really flat. And it's really big. Getting here from San Francisco is a real chore. I've driven to and from by myself at almost all times of the day except the middle of the night. If you're doing that, make sure you're very well rested, and don't speed. Those curves are just killer. Make sure you bring a lot of books. The last time I was here, I believe there was wifi, but I didn't use it, because this is the kind of place you come to escape the real world. Why would you want to bring the Internet along with you? The northern part feels far homier than the southern part. I don't know why. It might be less crowded. Or maybe it's the pool. But there might be another pool that I've never been to. Oh, and the architecture style is its own kind of thing in my mind. So when I see something that looks like it's trying to be a cheap knockoff of Sea Ranch's worn woodsiness, I call it a "Sea Ranch ____." So, for example, I refer to this Starbucks near my parents' house (https://www.yelp.com/biz/starbucks-coffee-whittier-6) as Sea Ranch Starbucks. I don't think I'd ever fork over the cash to stay here by myself or to host others, but I definitely do enjoy being here when I'm invited, even though the trip to and from here are the parts of Sea Ranch I most dread.

During my initial weekend visit, she quickly understood my preferences and helped me narrow down my search. When a promising property came on the market after I returned to Boston, she provided such a thorough video tour that I felt like I was walking through it myself. Her responsiveness, knowledge, and genuine care made what could have been a stressful process remarkably smooth. Kimberly truly went above and beyond at every turn. She coordinated inspections, arranged for deep cleaning before my move-in, signed for my new bed delivery and setup, and even agreed to receive my car delivery over the Christmas holidays. As a newcomer to California, I was overwhelmed with logistics, but she guided me through everything from acquiring insurance in a fire-risk area to understanding the nuances of Oakmont Village's different sub-HOA requirements. She connected me with reliable inspectors, contractors/handymen, and service providers, drawing on her extensive network and experience flipping homes with her husband. Whether answering questions herself or quickly connecting me with the right expert, her follow-through was impeccable. If you're buying a home--especially from out of state--Kimberly is the best!
