Sea Ranch Resort has breathtaking room views of the beach and windswept bluffs overlooking the Pacific ocean waves. They are a smaller resort with ~14 rooms, but they do have interior and exterior event spaces for small weddings or corporate events. Their restaurant features farm produce from their own farm (just down the road!). I definitely want to come back and spend a weekend!

American architects Charles Moore, Joseph Esherick, William Turnbull Jr., and Donlyn Lyndon designed the very first houses which created the distinct look that was inspired by coastal ranch sheds and structures. They kept the traditional roofline silhouette but dropped the eaves to create something new yet familiar and their redwood cladding blends into nature beautifully. It's minimal and modern but appropriate and fitting for the environment its in. You can see Charles Moore original "Condominium One" on the south end of Sea Ranch. Nowadays most of the homes are rentals or second homes, the community never happened but you do get peace and quiet with not a lot of people around. We rented a weekend home from Grand Welcome and had to drive 8 minutes north to pick up our keys at Gualala. The Kabella house was easy access to everything, we drove no longer than 10 minutes everywhere we went. Our favorite part was the glass-panel wood burning stove and the outdoor Jacuzzi that lets you enjoy the stars on clear nights.

Her knowledge about available properties and the inner workings of real estate was invaluable. I happened to just walk in one afternoon on my way back to Fort Bragg, just to see what properties might be available in my price range. I wasn't ready yet to get qualified for a loan, but I had an idea what the budget might be. She stopped what she was doing, typed in the parameters, and snap, printed out sheets of scenarios which I could take home and peruse. Even before I got pre-qualified, we drove around for days looking at properties from Point Arena to the Sea Ranch. She was almost always available to communicate with me on some level. We'd either text (which I think we did most!), talk on the phone, or communicate via email. What helped me throughout the entire process is thanks to what a truly a neat person she is to be around. She's engaging, witty, sympathetic, insightful, encouraging, and very, very thoughtful. There was a point in time where I didn't think that it was going to work out for me to be able to buy a home in the area because I was having a hard time getting access to the funds my parents had left me. But she stuck with me through that too. My situation is/was quite complex, yet she grasped the full picture and stuck with me through thick and thin. From the beginning we were told outright lies: - they said it was fully permitted, but the Planning Department proved otherwise - they said there was no logging nearby, but the adjoining property was MRC with a logging easement 20 feet from the bedroom - they said it had never been surveyed, but we found markers and 2 calls got us to a guy who had recently done a survey - they misrepresented clear conflicts out interest between them and the seller - these are only a few of the examples of deliberate deceit. We really wanted the property but backed out when they wouldn't allow time for us to check the property line with respect to the well.

What we didn't expect was that she was able to get an offer before the house even hit the market. We knew that Sea Ranch home sales tend to take longer than Bay Area sales, but thanks to Hanne, we sold our house faster than we could have hoped for and got the price we wanted. Because this is a small town there are not as many options to choose from for these services. I had not heard of Veikko before as they do not spend as much on advertising as their competition, but I decided to take a risk. Joel has been consistently professional, knowledgeable, helpful, proactive, and easy to get a hold of. My experience with him has been like night and day as compared to my experience with the other related companies this is especially impressive given that my rental was at the high end of the market at a time when the Market is overfilled with rentals in my range, and during a period in which it was taking much longer to get vacanc is filled. Even though Veilkko Provided this service on a fixed rate basis, they continued to provide the same high level of service even though it took much longer to fill the apartment than we had anticipated. Their prices were lower than their competition, Not only for the basic services but also for the photography package.  This company, Veikko,  is smaller than the competition, But this is an advantage because you get personalized service and a much quicker response. There is no comparison in my mind after having had experience with all three of the major Property Management companies in this town. Veikko is by far the BEST.

Having read the extensive number of reviews listed below, I wish to express my perspective from my years of experience so that the current quality of this excellent Sea Ranch vacation rental agency can be illuminated. Ocean View Properties has functioned under two distinctly separate ownerships. When my husband and I first discovered Ocean View Properties back in 2009, the woman who created the agency, Dorothy, and her staff, always treated us well enough. However, the quality of the rental homes and the level of cleanliness in the homes we rented was variable -- sometimes good, sometimes less than desirable. But when the new owners, Marianne and Steve, took over Ocean View Properties back in May 2015, we began noticing a dramatic change in quality of housekeeping and customer service immediately. And to this day, having rented an Ocean View Properties home on a monthly basis, I feel compelled to express my heart-felt gratitude for all the amazing improvements that have unfolded under Marianne and Steve's ownership. The quality of homes has increased exponentially. Here's why: though the homes themselves may be the same as before, Marianne and Steve strongly encouraged the homeowners to upgrade appliances, kitchen items, furniture, bedding, windows, screens, etc. These changes made the homes so much more immediately comfortable and livable for all renters, especially folks like us who come to Sea Ranch on a monthly basis and consider it our "other home". Also the level of housekeeping has lifted to a stellar degree. When we check in, the homes are spotless, well stocked with everything we need, and it is just such a pleasure to settle in and live our Sea Ranch life. The staff works so incredibly well as a team. I can feel that they all weave together their unique talents and skills in order to bring the best possible experience to us as renters. So to say I am grateful for this fantastic rental agency for the Sea Ranch homes we rent would truly be an understatement.
