Last day of school went on a lunch date with my forever sushi date. My daughter decided to pick poke and we just go to whatever is closest. She chose the Lava bowl and did a custom medium 3 scoop bowl. The staff helping us did not skimp on the servings! My eyes were wide when it filled up the bowl. I got all three spicy crab, tuna and salmon. I did the maximum toppings you can get with the sauce on the side. It was pretty spicy with the hot Cheetos dust and the already spiced fish. I would give this half a star if I could. When I first tried it a while back, it wasn't one of my favorites. It lacked the variety of other poke spots. Today, it was awful. Fish was great, however they did not have ahi tuna but the worker kindly lowered the price to reflect that. My gripes were that there wasn't enough sauce, the ingredients tasted good but it basically wasn't seasoned. The rice was also was either partially uncooked or really, really dry. The rice was pretty hard and that is a not good considering it's 50% of the bowl. I'll maybe give it a shot in the future again if they fix their rice issue. Poki is Fresh and delicious! Great portion sizes. Almost more poki than rice which is GOOD! A lot of places will skimp the proteins and carb load you with rice. Here it's the perfect ratio. This place may be one of the worst poki places I've tried. I went and ordered two mediums bowls $15 each and all they gave me is two scoops of fish and half of the topics were out. The rice was overcooked mush and they put it into the plastic bowls while it was too hot as the bowls were warped from melting from the heat. They don't have kimchi, they charge close to $3 for avocado, masago is considered a protein or there's an upcharge if you want it as a topping. Idk if it's the amount of sauce, the way they make it, or the fact that they shove so much food into the bowl that the food ends up tasting extremely bland. I decided to call to confirm and when I called the employee notified me that the hours were actually that they closed at 8pm for their winter hours and since it was only 7:35 we could still make it in time.
