The breed of my puppy is naturally not trusting of strangers, and our instructor made sure to never push our pup into anything she wasn't ready for. For puppy kindergarten, she also allows you to attend multiple classes each week, for no additional cost! We definitely took advantage of this since our pup started out very shy of dogs as well. She's an extremely patient instructor, and typically will go over 2-4 different things each class. She also introduces a different agility item each class, to socialize the pups to the equipment. There's normally 2 puppy playtimes each lesson, one at the beginning and at the end. I'm appreciative that she also locks the doors at all times, to avoid any accidental escapes. The only critique I could give is that sometimes the lessons can be a little disorganized and can get side tracked a bit, but overall the lessons are fairly cheap. Also, I noticed this comes up as an Auburn company, but our lessons are out of the Kent Memorial Park building on Central.

Initially the puppy kindergarten class was rather large, but Jennifer split the class into 2 classes with the smaller/shyer dogs in one class, which was helpful for our little guy. I really enjoyed the puppy class because it was a good introduction for how to interact with your dog and teach behaviors. I also took the Basic Manners class. It ended up being a small class of just 2 dogs, although it meant we got more attention and plenty of question/answer time. This class was a little more disorganized, but we still managed to solidify some basic skills such as walking on a leash appropriately and the skills: sit, stay, come, down, leave it. Overall, I'm pleased with my experience. I'm a first time puppy owner, so it was nice to have an expert point of view in my training. The packets what went with the class were full of great information as well, so you didn't have to retain everything that was said in class. Jennifer also had a class helper who always had cheese who was so sweet with our little dog--thanks, cheese lady!

After just four weeks when we went to parent train his temperament was so much different and he was able to work through his anxiety when it came to seeing other dogs, and outside distractions, follow commands consistently, and walk on a leash properly alongside us without pulling or just walking aimlessly. We enrolled our 15-month-old Dogo Argentino in their 8-week training program after adopting him from the Humane Society. He had been struggling with anxiety, recall, tantrums, and self-regulation. After just four weeks, during our parent training session, we noticed a remarkable difference in his temperament. He was able to manage his anxiety around other dogs and outside distractions, follow commands consistently, and walk calmly on a leash beside us--no more pulling or wandering aimlessly. This program has completely transformed our relationship with our pup. He now trusts us more deeply because not only did he learn how to regulate himself, but we also learned how to help him do so. He stays in place on his mat without following us around or begging for food--it's like having a completely different dog! We're so glad we chose Amani K-9. We feel more confident and connected in our relationship with our dog because we better understand him, and he knows exactly what we expect of him.

The dog we walk now is well behaved and emotionally regulated (no more whining, barking, or pulling on the leash when he sees another dog!!). We tried other trainers before Amani K9 and some progress would be made only for our dog to regress. We love that now he's home, we can still contact her for advice and feedback. It was the best decision we made. Thank you Niquolette and Amani K9!

As a result, she exhibited the beginnings of fear aggression, which I understand is common in German Shepherds. My vet recommended immediate puppy school and I chose Amanda because of her reputation for being upbeat and training in a positive manner. Whelp (snicker), turns out I picked the right trainer. Amanda knew how to help Sophie develop confidence and she also watched her carefully for signs of fatigue and stress during class. Sophie thrived under Amanda's training. I swear Sophie would say (in doggie language), "Pick me! Pick me!" whenever Amanda needed a volunteer pup to show the class a new trick. She LOVED puppy school. She LOVES Amanda. Amanda uses clicker training and other methods of positive reinforcement so you can toss out that awful pinch collar and teach with gentleness and humor. No more feeling guilty about using those harsh training methods that were the norm for so many years. And you'll have fun. And your pup will have fun. And you'll enjoy a whole new relationship with your best friend. I can't recommend Amanda highly enough. She's great.

The location was great- less than five minutes off the highway and beautifully located. The building we were training in wasn't heated so that was a bummer on colder days. The classes were moderately priced and affordable for what is available in the area.

They helped me probably more than the pup....meaning really the work is for us as the owner to do. So you will need to do the work and do the practicing at home. All the time and effort was so worth it. We have an amazing dog and she and I are both super calm. I can take her anywhere with me and she does amazing out in public. With my 5 yr old daughter she does awesome as well. We just got kittens and she is best friends with the kitties now also. Thank you Garrett and David...we definitely appreciate you so much! i would give you 10 stars if that were an option.

Our Great Pyrenees was stubborn, independent, and we honestly weren't sure if we'd ever get through to him. Garrett changed everything. His approach is calm, intuitive, and based on building trust and respect--not just obedience. The difference has been night and day.
