Stephen Eggleston has been my acupuncturist for more than a year and has done an amazing job. He is always on time, never forgets about me, and is very gentle with the needles. Unfortunately, this can be difficult to find at times with other acupuncturists. His office is also very clean and welcoming. Stephen is also very knowledgeable and competent and effortlessly translates Western Medicine into Chinese medicine. Saw Steven Eggleston for my plantar fasciitis that I had been suffering from for 6 months. Only had to see him 6 visits and my foot feels fantastic. I hobbled into the office on the 1st visit with pain at about an 8 plus, and I walked out after that first treatment with pain at about a 3. Couldn't believe it. Steven is amazing! It was clean and they were friendly, but the guy who did my treatment (forget his name since it was a year ago) didn't really seem to know what he was doing. I came in for back pains and he was actually asking me what areas he should put the pins in. Isn't he supposed to know that? I was nervous to trust him. I didn't really see any difference post treatment, but then again, acupuncture's effectiveness is arguable. Natural medicine has been a life saver for me, so I was excited to find an ND in the San Jose area. I had been seeing a Chiropractor for a few years before I moved to the area, however, so I was a wee bit uncomfortable starting over with a new doc. Dr. Brad immediately made me feel comfortable and was highly attentive, showing genuine concern for my health issues. During my first visit, he spent a good two hours going over all of my symptoms and exploring the possible causes. He suggested a detailed health plan tailored to my specific needs, including supplements. The new diet he suggested to ease my symptoms is fairly difficult for me to implement into my life (I'm a convenience junkie), so he even showed me different cookbooks and offered up fast food suggestions for when I can't make it home. Overall, I felt Dr. Brad was extremely thorough and had a caring bedside manner. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family. read more

I purchased a Groupon for my husband and my mother in law who have been having regular shoulder pain. My husband does physical therapy on and off for his shoulder and back. My mother in law basically opts for the cortisone shots in her shoulder, plus loads of ibuprofen. I was hoping to give them some relief with the purchase of these groupons. $35 for a 90 minute appointment (including acupuncture) seemed like a good deal. Initially, I had a hard time getting in touch with someone to make the appointment. Within a day or two, I had an appointment, which I ended up having to reschedule and they kindly obliged. The office was clean and the staff was very friendly, accomodating, and professional. Now, this having been both of their first experiences with acupuncture, I couldn't give them 5 stars because both my husband and mother in law did not see any miracles. Granted, my mother in law had a cortisone shot and was not in any immediate pain, but she was kind of like "meh." at the end of the appointment. My husband (who was in pain the morning of his appointment) was totally relieved of his shoulder pain, but conversely is suffering from severe lower back pain from laying face down on the table for an hour. He's been chugging ibuprofin to reduce the swelling since he got back from his appointment 36 hours ago. None of this, of course, is because of their services, but I must justify why I can't do 5-stars for this professional, high-quality establishment. read more

I am seeing Dr. Eggleston, for a workers Comp issue. He is treating neck, shoulder and hand (Carpel Tunnel) issues with Acupuncture. I had Carpel Tunnel release surgery 11 months ago, and still have not fully recovered. I have had three sessions so far, and have seen great improvement in my shoulder, starting to see improvement in my neck and hand. I'm convinced that Acupuncture works under the right conditions, with some communication between the Doctor and the patient. The Doctor is not a witch doctor! They need some feedback from the patient to make sure they are hitting the proper problem points. Dr. Eggleston and I have a great Dr. Patient relationship, and he does great work! read more

I saw Lee several years ago for back pain and am a HUGE fan of his Qi Gong DVDs. I have several and rotate between them depending on which area I want to focus on. I've given them as gifts to others who've also found them very helpful. I've been working with Stephen for a couple of years for overall health, skin, and digestive issues using acupuncture, herbs, and nutrition. Stephen has always been thoughtful and attentive in his care. I especially appreciate partnering with a health care professional who takes time to listen and talk with me about my concerns and priorities. I never feel rushed or talked "at" as can happen with many health care providers. I'm also a fan of PHA message therapist, Cathy. I've been going to this office for about 9 months and love it. I don't know who a past reviewer was referring to in regards to an inexperienced acupuncturist, but it clearly wasn't either of the founders. I've never heard of or felt that from anyone in their office. I work with Lee and he's been amazing. Not only does he know his work incredibly well, he is very genuine about wanting to heal people and teach them to heal themselves. My success with his Qi Gong and acupuncture has allowed me to do things I haven't been able to do in years! I've been to so many doctors whose treatments are only helpful if I continue to go there every week....for years. Lee has given me the tools to help MYSELF! He wants to see you healed, not keep you coming back forever to keep his payroll going, which is my feeling of many out there. Their back office has been great, their pricing fair and...so importantly..their appointments actually run on time!!! One of the owners (or owner) is Lee Holden. I haven't been to the center, however, I talked to the staff on the phone and they were fantastic. If I lived closer, I would definitely visit for treatments. I joyously settle for the DVDs he's produced. You have probably seen him on PBS. You can YouTube Lee Holden and get a snippet of the videos. I have Qi Gong for Stress and another one. They are awesome and --when used -- they work! Beautifully shot, with good narration. Want to update my review because I finished a series of acupuncture treatments with Deva who recently joined up with Pacific Healing Arts and she does a full treatment combo with a Chinese facial. I've received treatment at Pacific Healing Arts for several years now and highly recommend Lee Holden as a gifted healer. Lee's acupuncture treatments are amazing and his manner is genuine. I feel that space is being held for me and true healing is taking place. Lee's encouragement, care and Qi Gong tips have made a huge difference in my life and I always leave Lee's table transformed. My husband and i have both received massages from Cathy De Fino Harvey, as well. Cathy is extremely intuitive. She addresses my husband's chronic pain and old jock muscles with strength and skill. I need a gentler, less rigorous approach since I'm ultra sensitive yet hold a lot of tension yet super sore muscles from mountain biking. Cathy is able to adapt to our very different needs, taking time to understand and read our bodies. I like that she applies several methods such as Swedish, Sacral Cranial and energy work to restore the whole body, mind and spirit. We aren't covered under our regular insurance for these treatments but because of the gifted work we feel the investment towards our continuous health and well being is worth it. I've also had acupuncture treatments from Stephen Eggleston. I was suffering from chronic pain in my shoulder and Stephen's techniques were incredibly helpful with just one visit. I agree that the Qi Gong videos are very good and have actually given copies to some people and other practitioners. I can not say the same for the acupuncture. I've had practitioners with much more depth and involvement in this ancient practice. Sticking 6 needles in me and charging my insurance company $250-300 was unconscionable. I was told $75 was cash price which I paid.The first time ,it was reimbursed to me "as a courtesy", the second was not...then the billing company waited a few months and submitted the final 2 claims.This took a major chunk out of my annual allowance and my cash payments were not reimbursed either. I ended up having to pay out-of packet to another practitioner..who gave a comprehensive treatment each visit for $81..Chronic conditions requires regular visits for a period of time and I had immediate and long term relief.I do not support a holistic practice that would use up someone's annual stipend in 6 visits..and my treatments were superficial and ineffective. read more

Being someone who has tried many different clinics and acupuncturists, I have found my experience there to be exceptional. So much so that I make the 45 minute drive from Santa Cruz. Yesterday I was having horrible lower back pain. I've been to a pain management specialist in the past and I knew they would want me to go Thur a serious of steroid injections. I wasn't up to that again so I called the Pacific Healing Arts Clinic asking for Dan Hingle on a friend's recommendation. What a great experience. It was my first time using natural medicine. Typically I throw back some ibuprofen and call it a day. I wasn't sure about how my body would react to the natural type of treatment. Dan was amazing. He was concerned about my well being. He took time with me to help him understand what might be the cause of the pain. I walked into the office with a pain level of a 9 and walked out of there feeling 95% better. He gave me stretches and some other home remedies. This morning I was surprised I got out of bed with such ease. I thought I'd have to take some ibuprofen but haven't. I'm still amazed at his work.
