This was our family's first year at this school, and it ended up meaning so much to us…read more My son who just turned 3, had Ms. Orozco, and at the beginning of the year he was very shy and had a hard time adjusting. Ms. Orozco was so patient, warm, and encouraging that she made him feel comfortable right away. Over time, we watched him slowly open up, and before long he was actually excited to go to school. He would come home talking about her and everything he was learning, and it was such a joy to see how much confidence she helped him build. She truly helped him break out of his shell, and we are amazed by how much he learned this year. Ms. Orozco is truly an exceptional teacher. My daughter had Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Tan as she entered 2nd grade, and she was also a little shy because she didn't know anyone. They were so kind and supportive and really encouraged her to make new friends and feel like she belonged. We saw such wonderful growth in her throughout the year, both emotionally and academically, and that means so much to us as parents. It was clear that they truly care about their students and want to see them succeed. We also want to thank the front office staff, who were always great and made communication easy throughout the year. They were helpful, welcoming, and always pleasant to work with. The principal is also very attentive and approachable, which made us feel even more confident in the school. Overall, we are so grateful for the love, support, and dedication shown to our children this year. It was a wonderful first year, and we truly appreciate everyone who played a part in helping our kids grow and feel happy at school. We can't wait to see the kids continue to grow in this school system over the years to come

They say it takes a village...what better village than Arborland Montesorri!…read more Dr Chen and Ms Chen have created a wonderful place where kids can thrive and really come into their own. It's been a pleasure watching our kids grow under the tutelage of Ms Cole (and Ms Rokosz) and Ms Villaruel and her aides. Admin staff Ms Bree and Ms Kristine are great as well. One thing that stands out is the emphasis on public speaking and developing self-confidence through a variety of performances, events and daily tasks. Academically, expect your kids to reach higher (national) grade equivalency due to their strong course curriculum. Some things that we've grown to appreciate: - Variety of after school activities - Amazing teachers and staff - Convenient location for pickup/dropoff - Involved community via engaged students and parents - Lunch menu that kids actually look forward to eating - Annual events and performances It's unfortunate reading some of the negative reviews. What I've encountered has been nothing but positive feedback and a tribe of dedicated individuals who truly want to see your child succeed.

Our youngest started in the Toddler classroom with Ms. Karla, while our oldest has been in the Preschool classroom with Ms. Salzman. Watching both of them grow, develop confidence, and genuinely enjoy going to school has been incredibly rewarding and affirms our decision. As a school, Arborland is exceptionally well organized. The campus is clean, secure, and well maintained, and the staff consistently demonstrate professionalism, kindness, and a genuine commitment to the children. Our kids also participate in the extended childcare program, which has been a wonderful experience. They genuinely enjoy that time with their friends and teachers, so much so that there are days when they do not want to leave. One of the main reasons we chose Arborland was because we wanted a more structured Montessori toddler program than what we found at many other nearby schools serving children 18 months and older. Ms. Karla created exactly the environment we were hoping for. She is warm, patient, and incredibly caring, while also setting clear expectations and consistent boundaries that the children understand and respect. We truly appreciated the balance she brings to her classroom. Another aspect we especially valued was that Ms. Karla and her assistant teachers spoke Spanish with our daughter throughout the day. As parents raising bilingual children, having that support reinforced what we practice at home and has been a meaningful part of her early education. The Montessori approach has been an excellent fit for our independent, curious, and strong-willed daughter. She has now transitioned into the Preschool program, and we can already see how well prepared she is thanks to the strong foundation built in the Toddler classroom. We are incredibly grateful to Ms. Karla and her assistant teachers for giving our daughter such a positive start to her educational journey. We also appreciate Ms. Salzman and the entire Arborland team for creating an environment where both of our children continue to learn, grow, and thrive. We wholeheartedly recommend Arborland to families looking for a nurturing, structured, and high-quality Montessori education.

My oldest is now in the Primary class with Maestra Michelle and Maestra Aurora, and my second is finishing the toddler class with Ms Karla and her assistants, Ms Melissa, Ms Ally, and Ms Marissa. The most comforting part for me is to know that my kids are in great care with their teachers. I randomly received personal messages from Ms Karla and Maestra Michelle about my kids' day, their accomplishments, or just something silly they did, with a picture! I cannot express how lucky we are to have teachers that genuinely love the kids so much. It has been such joy to see our kids thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and in every way! I remember when they first started school, they were little people that barely knew how to talk. Day after day, month after month, they started to put words together, making sentences, then started to tell stories about their day at school. One day they surprised me with putting away their own toy! Then another surprise, putting on their own shoes! They learned independence, and courtesy, and so much more! We are so happy that our kids are at Arborland, thriving under lots of love and care. Thank you Arborland! Especially to the teachers and staffs!!

We are part of the unique Orangethorpe Multiage Program on campus, and my kids have thrived! When I found the Orangethorpe Multiage Program I was overwhelmed with relief and gratitude. The Multiage's individualized curriculum has let my kids work grade levels ahead even since Kindergarten. They come to me after school so excited about a "hard" math problem they solved or that they used a new "juicy" word in their writing. Their learning has never had to slow down. Their curious minds are always fed with hands-on learning and monthly field trips. One of my kids has always wanted to be an engineer and he got to develop all those skills with an amazing roller coaster project. He learned to cooperate with his team, trouble shoot and struggle through failures, and help other kids with their projects too. At the end, we had a field trip to Knott's Berry Farm and we stayed from opening to close because we have so much fun with the other Multiage families. Another kid is a talented artist and loves that art is always in the classroom, but most especially when they get to draw nature from the class garden and on field trips to the Arboretum. The classroom itself is beautiful and inspiring. It is covered with artwork, writing, and giant math problems that kids work on over days. The primary class is huge and filled with a library of books, all of which any child of any grade can read. It is always warm and friendly with smiling kids and parents. The teachers know exactly what my kids need academically and support them emotionally with understanding, patience, and kind words. So grateful to have found the Orangethorpe Multiage Program!

Which i find mind blowing. This school as well lets the teachers wrongfully yell at students which is backed up by the principals. The vice principal yells at staff and humiliates them. The 6th grade teacher Cardenas yells at her students then demands a apology. She as well never lets parents know of any incidents because she knows she is in the wrong. This is a horrible school mainly because of the staff but also because of the cleanliness the bathrooms are in horrible condition as well as denying feminine trash bins which leaves female students in a awkward position having to throw away pads/tampons in the main trash bins. Office ladies as well talk bad about students in Spanish in the office because the principals aren't bilingual which is extremely unprofessional. This school favoritism is out of hand which is unfair to students. Staff and principals never get in touch with parents when a student incident happens then they blame everything on the student with no explanation when confronted. Please do not send your kids here.

They also have a whole special education department on campus with several highly trained teachers and support staff with 20 plus years serving kids with special needs. The school has recently been gated due to many homeless people that used to be in the surrounding areas. The gate is "okay" there are always several missing bars in some areas of the school where hoodlums have broken through. Mostly to get access to the basket ball court during the weekends. The office staff is cordial and some what efficient. They have a health clerk on site, under the supervision of a credentialed nurse. They also employ several other support staff, such as play ground supervisors and morning parent volunteers that greet your child in the morning as they enter the main gates. The principal is friendly. She is always there when you need to speak to her, she has a great open door policy and will return any phone calls the same day. The teachers are all nice. They have recently hired some newbies which are very talented in teaching, bringing a fresh face to education. The PTA has also improved recently, bringing more family activities to the school such as the Father daughter dance, the Mother son dance, and various other special events that bring the community together. Overall I am content with Woodcrest and the quality of public education they render.

While initially promising, the reality of this institution fell far short of expectations, leaving a trail of disillusionment and concern in its wake. From the outset, the school boasts an impressive roster of teachers who purportedly excel in connecting with their students. However, this is untrue and unfortunately there is an alarming lack of professionalism and boundaries. Rather than fostering a safe and conducive learning environment, the unchecked familiarity between teachers and students creates an atmosphere ripe for exploitation and misconduct. Such behavior not only undermines the integrity of the educational system but also puts students at risk of emotional and psychological harm. Moreover, attempts to address these concerns were met with dismissiveness and defensiveness from school administration, further exacerbating the sense of unease among parents and students alike. It became increasingly clear that the prioritization of maintaining appearances outweighed any genuine commitment to safeguarding the well-being of those within the school community. In conclusion, while Valencia Park Elementary may tout its personalized approach to education, it is imperative for prospective parents and students to exercise caution. The allure of close teacher-student relationships should not come at the expense of safety and professionalism. Until meaningful reforms are enacted to address these systemic issues, I cannot in good conscience recommend Valencia Park as a viable option for quality education. I rated this school 1 start because there is no option for 0.
