Judo/gymnastics area is very well ventilated, the fans do make it difficult to hear but minor trade off. It's so well ventilated that kids don't get hot when they run. I also appreciate how special it is to have this Simi Valley Judo Club. It is one big class, so lots of opportunity for mixed age and mixed gender interactions. Often there are parent and kids enrolled at the same time. The cost is low, and duration is 1.5 hours twice weekly, so it doesn't hit the purse as hard if you need to miss a few lessons or join late. No makeups, which are time consuming for parents anyway. Newcomers can often progress quickly through the ranks due to the 3 hour per week duration (no belt testing and no additional fees). New ranks are awarded by Sensei based on observation of their behavior and their application of techniques at the daily randori. Randori is limited to the last 15 minutes of class, everyone sits and observes as 2 kids are called up to spar. So glad we returned.

Now that time has passed, and no further fallout occurred, I am writing this to help other parents make an informed decision. How dare The Learning Experience contact Child Protective Services (CPS) in an effort to cover their tracks after my wife questioned them about a bruise on our toddler's face, a bruise that was not present when we dropped her off. We understand that toddlers can get bumps and bruises from regular play. But what's unacceptable is the lack of accountability from the staff and the cowardly decision to pass the blame onto parents instead of being transparent. Having CPS show up at our home, suspicious of us as parents was humiliating, distressing, and completely unjustified. Even worse, CPS did not have anything to report, confirming there was no credible concern or evidence behind the daycare's accusation, but now we're in the "system". My wife shares many of the same concerns echoed in other negative reviews. The staff at this location appeared disinterested and undertrained, complaining, disengaged, and clearly "just there for a check." Nearly every time we picked up our daughter, there was a different teacher in the room, and no one seemed to know what had gone on during the day. Communication was chaotic and unprofessional. It often felt like they hired people off the street with zero preparation. We observed several children with crusted snot on their faces, and even our daughter often looked like she'd been "through a storm" by pickup time. These are not isolated impressions, but they reflect a clear pattern of poor management and inadequate care. And filing a formal complaint with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), in still under consideration contingent on statute of limitations. However, we encourage other parents with similar experiences to do the same and NOT let this walk. Sure, positive reviews are plentiful. But I strongly urge any parent reading this to also take the one-star reviews seriously. If you value professionalism, accountability, and compassion in a childcare setting, this is not the place.

Absolutely love The Little Gym in Simi!! Started taking my baby here a little over a month ago (at…read more9.5 months) and I regret not knowing about The Little Gym earlier because I would have taken her when she was much younger. When I first discovered the world of baby gyms, I looked into both here and another gym in the area. I ended up choosing The Little Gym because of 3 things: 1) Proximity. We are in Simi and I would have made the commute to the other gym if it was that much better, but it's not 2) Diversity. This might have to do with it being Simi Valley, but I liked the ethnic diversity that the neighboring city was lacking 3) Instructors wearing masks. I like how the instructors wear masks here. I feel like it sets a precedence for everyone, and shows care and concern for others. Not everyone wears masks and that's ok, even I myself only wear it some of the time. But something about them wearing masks I feel sets a good example of safety and cleanliness and is reassuring. My daughter is her happiest at The Little Gym! We love taking her there and will continue to take her there as often as we possibly can, even though we will be moving away from the area. The stretching area is also in the walkway area, so it was kind of awkward stretching as people walked by or waited for their exercise class. Lockers and bathrooms were clean.

Overall, the management seems more focused on internal activities than providing a reliable experience for their clients.
