We receive so many updates, and the live camera gives me such peace of mind. On harder drop-off days, being able to check the app and see that she is happy and having fun makes all the difference as a parent. The school feels like a family the moment you walk in. It is warm, homey, and cozy, and every teacher is so kind and welcoming. The directors, Anne and Ginny, are truly special. They are incredibly thoughtful, caring, and make everyone feel so welcome. Another huge plus is that all food is cooked on-site! It is so helpful as a parent to know they are making healthy and delicious snacks and lunches, and it has given my daughter the opportunity to try new foods since everyone is eating the same thing. The cook is so kind, the menu changes weekly, and everything smells amazing. Lastly, we also love that my son in TK can do drop-in days with his sister during school breaks, which he has also loved his experience there too. We feel so grateful to be part of this community and highly recommend Children's Courtyard!

Miss Ginny always brightens the day with her smile, full of energy and joy, and she makes Nicole's day just the same with her energetic spirit. Nicole has two wonderful teachers, Miss Leehe and Miss Sevanah, who made my daughter enjoy going to daycare and love it--even asking for them on holidays. They help Nicole so much in terms of growth and education, and I'm sure they do the same for all the children. I am so happy that my daughter goes to this school with all these excellent teachers.

Our attempts at speaking to the administration and to the teachers were met with distain and indifference. I actually ordered a book from Amazon called "Teeth Are Not For Biting" and sent them to the classroom. I was never thanked for any of these contributions and for my kind demeanor toward the administration, despite their brusque manner. I asked for reports about my child's progress I was given none. All one teacher would constantly tell me it was that my toddler needed speech therapy! At 25 months old she became very loquacious and at 28 months I knew it was time to switch schools. I decided to visit Mrs. Clark at Monte Vista. Mrs. Clark actually apologize for the treatment that my daughter received the other school and within the first couple of months of enrollment, I have seen a drastic improvement in my child's personality. She is more outgoing, more attentive, happier, and more secure. Her teacher Ms. Foojan provides constantly updates without prompting and she understands my child. The classrooms are personalized, small, and the student-teacher ratio is low. Other staff and teachers from different classes approach me and my husband on a weekly basis and give us positive reports about our daughter. The school has so many wonderful programs and additions to classroom activities such as gymnastics cooking and other extracurricular activities. Specialized care and attention is bar none and every time I pick up my daughter I do not have to go through a barrage of security questions and I have direct access to my child. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the school is and how much it has enriched my child's education and the development of her character.

When I had to go back to work after having my first and only child, I was scared, nervous, and…read moreanxious about where I would put my son at ONLY FOUR MONTHS old. Searching for the right daycare for our son wasn't easy. We searched and searched online, talked with friends and neighbors, and checked the California licensing website (http://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/Child-Care-Licensing/Resources-for-Parents). We had to consider several things for the care of our child: a safe environment, a caring teacher/caregiver, price, and hours. We made the leap and thankfully, Shadow Oaks Daycare not only met the minimum of our checklist, but ended up being so much more for our son. It was hard to "let go" of our son and place him into the arms of Elyssa - I mean, this was my first kid and I was trying to figure out how to balance breastfeeding and bottle, and figuring out naps! And yet, it was one of the best decisions I (we) made. He did so well with her and still does today. He has never arrived not wanting to go in and he's never left being upset. Why? Because of love. I believe that he is genuinely loved by Elyssa and she gently guides and navigates him throughout the day and with the other kids. There's a little structure and very, very light programming, but mostly love and snuggles. As Elyssa said and several websites on babies pointed out, he eventually followed a routine of bottles, lunch, and naps. And along the way he picked up some sign language and songs, as well as new friends. At first, as I even told her, I was a little jealous - heck I am a first time mom and I had a mix of emotions, but now I am just GRATEFUL. It is so important to me that my child has an extension of folks that care for him, not just "babysit" him. * The house is away from major streets. It is simple, clean, and safe. * Toys are just the right amount and type for infants to early toddlers. * The daycare has not been cited for any issues to my knowledge and research (at least definitely not during our time). * There is a tv that is used at times to entertain the kids (but depends on age range of current attendees) but even when that has been on it's been phonics related material. She reads books to them daily. Other items to note is that while she doesn't "officially" provide food to the kids, yes, of course snacks (e.g. good ol' cheerios) are available and back up milk if you've forgotten it. You have to provide diapers and she is diligent about using gloves when changing your child. You also provide your own lunch/snacks for your child. So far during our time, there were no children with peanut allergies so if your child has one, notify her and I'm pretty sure she will accommodate. Our son will be moving onto pre-school soon and she has been so generous with her time in allowing us some wiggle room as we figure out our start date. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me via yelp, especially if you are a first time mom. I've been there - making this decision didn't come lightly for me and it may not be for you either. Happy to help you with some info if you need it.

I'm hoping this doesn't get too long but here goes nothing…read more.. Our family has been part of the Kindercare community for several years now and the experience has been nothing short of wonderful and in many ways, life-changing. Our daughter "graduated" from Kindercare last year after spending nearly 2 years there, and she is now at our local public school and thriving in TK! The structure, curriculum and most importantly, the kindness and care from the teachers and staff truly prepared her for success. I still remember when she first started there, she was hesitant, unsure and struggling with confidence, especially when holding a pencil. She would melt to the ground ha! I had a great conversation with Ms Linda about my concerns, and she along with Ms Priscilla, poured their hearts into building my daughter up. Fast forward to "graduation", my daughter left the class READING. Their focus on phonics, patience and love for teaching made all the difference. Today, she is as confident as they come and genuinely LOVES going to school. For that, I am beyond grateful!! Because of this incredible experience, our youngest son now attends Kindercare as well. He's been there since the "baby class" and has grown so much. In fact, even though he is technically eligible for TK in the fall, my husband and I have chosen to keep him at Kindercare for another year because of how much we value their program. That decision says everything about the trust and confidence we have in this school. As a busy family with two working parents, Kindercare makes it easy. Providing the meals is a game-changer. We love following the pictures and schedule updates in the Kindercare app. The pic attached is one of the many photos we get of the kids at play. They have fun family engagement activities on holidays which can be fun! We love the Halloween event! I have met so many "mom friends" here and even though their children have left Kindercare, we still make a point to get together to hangout, have a happy hour or playdate at the park with or without our Kinderkids. When you have kids excited to go to school, nothing feels better. And every time we walk through the doors, we feel like part of the family. We are thankful we found a second HOME at Kindercare.

We love their focus on complying with safety regulations and documenting important details of the day's events through photos, videos, and notes in the KinderCare app. Our son enjoys time with all of his wonderful teachers like Ashley, Alyssa, Maria, Amy, Grace, and his BFF Kim. Although it can get a bit hectic, as expected with all the energetic kids, it seems like the teachers have genuine support from management, Nikki and Lisa, and that everyone strives to do their best for the kids. The teachers' impressive memory of our son's activities, especially in the chaos of many kids doing many things, is really useful reference for how to continue our childcare at home in the evening. It's impossible to know every single detail and metric of the center's operations, and moreover, the long-term strategy and potential incentive shifts of KinderCare as a large corporation that recently became publicly traded. One really positive and reassuring sign for this center specifically is the long average tenure of the teachers. This center's leadership is certainly doing something well to retain its staff, some of whom have been there for decades. In our experience, the staff seem supported and everyone has been so helpful and responsive whenever we've had any concerns or questions, including consistently picking up the phone on the rare times that we call. Childcare can be thankless work that goes underappreciated and some days must be overwhelming, so we truly appreciate these hardworking teachers for taking care of our little one!

Everything is always super clean, super organized, and she communicates well with me (the parents) on everything. I can't recommend Bee Kind enough!!
