I came down to Pacific Beach tattoo this weekend to get a tattoo by Eric. He is hands down one of my favorite artists to go to and has done a bunch of my tattoos. Eric's one of the friendliest tattoo artist you'll meet and the other artists in the shop we're just as friendly. My wife came down with me and brought her needlepoint with her. She was sitting in the waiting room doing it and one of the other artists told her to come back to the tattoo area and told her that she could work on it on his tattoo table where he was drawing. That same artist also offered us drinks and snacks. I really feel bad that I can't remember his name now. Anyway it's a fantastic shop and you should come down and check them out. read more

Beware of the artist Wayne @weezyinksyou Came into the shop with my friend who requested tattoos in red ink. Wayne accidentally tattooed her in black ink. Because of his mistake, I asked him to come down in price. His agitated response? "Well I had to re-place the stencil 10 fucking times." Wayne lost 10 minutes of his time and relented to $10 off his service as redemption. Came here for two of my many tattoos and have always had an amazing experience! Got the butterflies about a year ago, and the sword/heart back in August! The pics are from today, and they have healed amazing and are very clear and defined. The guys here are super dope and chill, and I love the random gumball machine tattoos!!!! (The "love" heart is one of those). My skin is super sensitive to the clear skin wrap so they hooked me up with the good ole fashioned Saran Wrap and tape, and the tattoos still held up absolutely amazing! I got my second tattoo by Eric Whitman at Pacific Beach Tattoo and I'm obsessed! He does such clean line work and pays great attention to detail. The studio is big and clean and welcoming. I really love the fact that Eric uses "second skin" a type of clear, protective barrier for the tattoo to heal under for a few days. It holds in all the color and helps bypass the scabbing and peeling phase, so the tattoo stay intact. While I didn't give Eric much creative room with my second tattoo, I felt like he was happy to give me what I wanted and takes each request as a personal mission to do his best I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Ive recieved multiple tattoos by Garrett and each one gets better and better as he has honed in on the craft. I appreciate how kind and genuine he is about every piece, big or small, as hello it's his passion. His artwork is one of a kind and worth the investment for yourself to have a good quality piece. The 3 pieces I have that are not done by Garrett are shit compared to his work. From him, my favorite is my sugar skull that is 5+ years old and looks like he did it last month. The colors have held, the linework is on point, and it makes me happy everytime I look at it. Garrett has also modified a flower tattoo I receieved at the ripe age of 18 into an entire piece, note - before he got ahold of it I highly considered removing the flowers all together. Lastly, the mandala piece he did on my shoulder... single needle the entire piece and I recieve COUNTLESS comments on it. Its the perfect size to location, easy to cover but fun to have visible If you choose Garrett and this shop for your next piece, i would bet money on it that you will walk out happy. Very rude people! Just wanted to walk in and ask for a price, and just before that started to talk on the phone (not in front of their door) they told me to get the **** away from their store. I hang up the phone and go back there and told them that there are nicer ways to say things. They told me the *** away again and then tried to pull me in, to fight with me "legally" (I speak English with accent and they were thinking that I don't know the laws in USA, however I am a proud citizen of the USA) Decided to walk away because I saw the weakness and ignorance in their eyes. Martial arts, and self defense training worked out again made me walk away from ignorant people without getting in trouble. Basically just wanted to get a quote but ruined my day!
