My husband and I like to play cards while drinking inexpensive beers during happy hour. Then my husband asks me for $20 to go play video lottery in the back while I watch football on the TV. This place reminded me of the small grocery store my family frequented when i was a child many years ago. Chester's is a great, slightly small, full service market with prices that are not sky high. The produce section was actually very well stocked, as were the meat and seafood areas. In short, my grand daughter and i found everything we needed and didn't have to leave town to do so. The store was clean, and well stocked and organized. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. It was very easy to find, and the large parking lot made it easy to get in and out of.

Here's an example: Today, 11/1/19, my pal and I went in to pick up supplies and after a friendly and mutually beneficial negotiation, we were leaving. All of a sudden, the man asked my friend to wait a second, he needed to get his change. He proceeded to not just give him his change, but a twenty dollar bill. Which he'd dropped in the parking lot a month or so earlier and forgotten about. We were almost in tears for such integrity, and I will always say so. They also have rockin good aloe vera drinks. Love and cooperation abounds.

This is a wonderland of products that you can wander through for quite some time. Beyond the usual offerings of food and beverage, there were livestock supplies, pet supplies, clothing including hoodies and jackets, feed, gardening supplies, and other assorted items you could need on farm. In addition to filling up my gas tank, I filled up on rawhide gardening gloves and this fantastic hand cream that makes my nurse hands happy.

The selection is actually pretty good for such a small town--i would suspect that's probably because they get a lot of out-of-towners on their way to play in the sand/water. I have pretty narrow tastes, so I can only speak about a few brands they carry. I know they have Grey Goose, Chambord, Frangelico, Patron Silver, Basil Hayden, Corner Creek, Pendleton. They also have all of the basic staples: John Daniels (when you've known him as long as I have--that's a joke), Stoli, Absolut, Makers Mark, Captain Morgan (gag), Bacardi, etc., etc. The staff is pleasant, if not welcoming. They also have cigs here (naturally). They have the (frustratingly) normal hours for liquor stores, which is to say, limited. If you're coming to Tillamook or driving through from OR-6, just head through town and keep going straight. It'll be on the left after the second light. Chances are you'll find me there buying booze.
