Brian is professional and safety (covid) mindful. He easily DX the issue with our 15 YO LG dryer and fixed it within the estimated time.

The technician arrived right on time, diagnosed the problem fast, and had my dryer up and running in the same visit. It's such a relief to have a repair service I can count on. They are now saved in my phone if I ever need help with another appliance. Thank you so much Spark, it's so nice to have clean clothes again!

My 15 years old Subzero refrigerator stopped working recently and its freezer side was totally not…read morecold. The refrigerator side was still working because it has a dual cooling system with separate compressor. I reached out to Subzero for help, but all they could recommend is that I reached out to Box Appliance which is their preferred repair shop in the SF Bay Area which I already knew before calling. When I told Subzero that the earliest appointment with Box was 15 days later, the phone rep told me that she would reach out to Subzero to expedite the request, but in the end no one from Box got back to me for an earlier appointment. Don't who dropped the ball along the way but I as the customer was left in the cold, even though I got a Subzero but apparently means little when it comes to support. In search for other repair service, I came across Spark Appliance which got many great review. I decided to give Spark Appliance a try. The owner Eli quickly responded to my request and came over the next day. He quickly diagnose the problem to be a relay part issue to the compressor and was 99% sure to be the case. Fortunately, he had the part in the truck so was able to replace it right away. Additionally, he cleaned up my very dusty machinery to keep the refrigerator running efficiently. My freezer is still running fine few days later after the fix, so I can confidently say the problem was correctly resolved. I was lucky to have found Spark Appliance through this ordeal even though Box or Subzero did not come through. I found Eli and Spark Appliance to be experienced, reliable and honest, and I won't hesitate to call them again whenever I have future appliances issues (they work on all things appliances and not just refrigerator!)

From the start, his response was incredibly prompt. When I mentioned the specific error code I was seeing, CJ immediately identified the true root cause: a known design defect specific to Thermador units, rather than the simple tube replacement I'd been told. He worked efficiently, replaced the supply tube quickly, and addressed the actual underlying issue that the other guy completely missed. It's rare to find someone who knows the engineering of these high-end appliances this well. If you have a complex issue or a high-end brand, don't waste your time with anyone else--CJ is the one to call!

CJ responded quickly and arrived within a few hours on a weekend, which I appreciated. He was…read morepolite and completed the repair, and my LG dryer is working again. However, the pricing was extremely disappointing. The issue turned out to be worn drum rollers -- a relatively inexpensive part (around $30) and the repair took roughly 30-40 minutes. Despite that, the total charge was very high and far out of proportion to the parts and labor involved. For only a few hundred dollars more, I could have replaced the entire dryer. I felt taken advantage of due to my lack of technical knowledge about appliance repairs. Because of this, I would not use his service again and recommend others ask for a detailed quote and parts breakdown beforehand, better yet, find someone more reasonable.

Not a good thing when you're baking and end up with dry cupcakes and flat cookies. I called up Airport Appliance where I purchased my range but no longer in business and given the Viking Range (1888-845-4641) support. It wasn't the bulb, I'd taken care of that for the 54 years I've owned the stove. People had lots of suggestions for what I could do, but I used Yelp's project help, and found this company. They were FANTASTIC! Vince came to my home on the 10April and did an extensive inspection. He figured out what was needed and came back today to finish up. He was efficient, helpful, and pleasant. Could not ask for a more personable guy. The price for the entire service was terrific. You can ask me if you want to know.

As a regular Yelp user who values honest, detailed reviews, I wish this experience had gone better…read more I had two separate washer sets needing service, both less than two years old, and unfortunately, both visits were disappointing. I paid two separate diagnostic fee of $85 each even thought the same technician came for both units on the same visit. For the first set, I was charged a diagnostic fee plus over $387 in repairs--for a washer that's barely a year old. I paid it, hoping for peace of mind that the problem was resolved. For the second washer, they came to look at a leaking stackable washer, charged another $85 diagnostic, and told me "nothing is wrong." Two weeks later, that same washer flooded the floor again. When I called back under their three-month service guarantee, they said they don't work on stackable units. I reminded them that they had already serviced that exact washer and that their guarantee should apply. After a lot of back-and-forth calls, they finally admitted they couldn't honor the guarantee because they "don't have a technician for that type of unit," and only then did they agree to refund the diagnostic fee. I appreciated that refund, but the whole experience left me feeling uneasy--especially after paying $387 for one repair and getting no resolution on the other. For appliances this new, I expected clearer communication, better follow-up, and accountability. Then, while reviewing my receipts, I realized I had used Sunny HVAC previously for a dishwasher error code. Their technician completely misdiagnosed the issue and quoted a $764 repair, plus charged me a separate $85 diagnostic fee. I later called Azer Appliance for a second opinion, and their technician immediately found the real problem -- a simple clogged air gap -- and fixed it on the spot for just their diagnostic fee. Shortly after, Sunny HVAC claimed they had refunded my fee, which was simply not true. What's worse, Sunny HVAC has repeatedly asked Yelp to remove my reviews, arguing "inconsistencies" whenever I provide more detail or correct their misstatements. Yet it's their own replies that constantly distort the facts and recharacterize what actually happened. This pattern of flagging honest reviews and rewriting the narrative is exactly how they maintain such a high rating -- by silencing valid customer experiences instead of taking responsibility. Polite staff, yes--but inconsistent service, confusing policies, and minimal ownership of mistakes make it hard to recommend.

We had an issue where our washing machine started making loud banging noises while the drum was spinning, resulting in our clothes not being washed properly. From the moment I reached out on Yelp, I received timely responses from them, specifically the owner Andy C was really nice and he got me scheduled soon at a time that works for me. In addition to that, he also agreed to match a competing quote that I received on Yelp for the diagnosis, with the understanding that if I go with the repair, that diagnostic fee would be waived. The technician, Sergei, came within the allotted time, and he was nice and friendly. Within a few minutes he had already figured out what's wrong (the suspension rods need to be replaced) and he helped me pick a suitable replacement online right on the spot, then he promised to return the day after the item gets delivered. Sergei came back a couple of days later at the time I requested (6pm to 8pm) even though it was outside of work hours, in order to help us get our washer working again. He came with the ordered parts and promptly repaired the issue. He even stayed around for the full wash cycle to make sure that everything is going well now (no more loud banging noises in the drum) before he left our house. The price he charged us was a fair price for the labor-intensive work and I am very happy with the outcome. I definitely will reach out to them again the next time I am in need of their services. Thank you First California Appliances!
