For my husband's birthday, I offered him 3 choices from great restaurants in our area all of which we have visited and enjoyed for special occasions but not for some time. His choice was Maya. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our server "Adi" (?-we're hard-of-hearing). My "many words" could describe her attributes as a professional filling just about any position. Yet, as our server she was courteous, poised, respectful, warm, non-intrusive, sensitive to timing (re: approaching tables), clear and knowledgeable re: our questions about entreés,most their ingredients & receptivity of such a choice enjoyed (or not) by previous patrons. Without being rushed, we savored one last forkful of our meals. (Mine was Lambchops, plantains, sprinkled with sesame seeds, and rice covered with a delicious semi-spicy red sauce. The food was a 10/10 I got the ACP and it was delicious and plated nicely. Even though we booked days in advance with a reservation of 20 people, unfortunately the staff was not well prepared. We arrived at 5:40pm, everyone did not receive their drinks until 6:15 and had to ask someone to take our order at 6:30. By 7 we had to also ask for our appetizer as we still had not received it and we did not receive our food until 7:30. We also had to flag down our waiter/waitress throughout the dinner in order to get refills and ended up not leaving until 8:20 as we had to wait for our check as well. Even though the food is good we will not be coming back because they were definitely not prepared for a group. Additionally some of our meals came out cold and we realized after we had cut or bitten into the food, the waiters took it back and you could tell it had been microwave as the same cuts were still in the food. After waiting almost 2 hours for our food it surely should not have come out cold.
