I was fed false information repeatedly such as my transmission was being sent out (I was having NO transmission work being performed). After being quoted and given a ETA i was not informed until i physically went up there that the technician broke my pulley, my oil pump, & dropped trash in my heads causing further damage to my vehicle. In effort to get my vehicle back i had to pay even MORE money to repair the damage they caused. Now my vehicle has a oil leak from the oil pan they removed that had absolutely no business being touched had the technician not broken my oil pump and garbs has completely refused to repair anything, despite it only being 3 weeks from when the repairs were completed.

Perhaps, this is the worst car repair place I've been to. Ever…read more Carpro Auto Repair is located in Baytown next to a couple of used car dealerships, a carwash etc. The block is filled with a lot of random cars that are questionable if they are operable or used for spare parts. Most likely, the cars are fixed up and 'sold' to the used car dealerships. Their office is dingy. Dirty and oily waiting room with no a/c and a disgusting bathroom. They do not have an answering machine for their phone line. The owner is out of the office 80% of the time which leaves for miscommunication between the employees and the customers. The employees are somewhat friendly. They'll joke with you. They will do business with you on a good ole fashion handshake. My situation: I took my truck there on July 1st based on a referral from a co-worker. My co-worker's uncle has taken many cars there and was pleased with their work. My truck has a problem with its engine leaking oil leading to smoke clouds coming out the exhaust. The owner took a look of the truck, started up the engine and speculated that it may be valve seals. He gave me an estimated price. I agreed to it and out of good faith gave him half the money for it up front. He agreed I could make payments on the repair. Very cool. He estimated the truck would be ready on July 6-7th. I rented a car so I can go to work. On July 7th, I called and asked of the status of the repair. The employees said that the owner has not been in the office and was in and out of the hospital and repair might not be finished until July 10th. On July 10th, I did not hear anything back from them so I called them up. One of the employees said that the truck was still being worked on. I drove to carpro and spoke to the owner directly. He apologized, said that the work was taking longer than expected and he agreed to have truck ready on July 13. On July 13th, I called Carpro and asked the status. They said it was 'ready' and that I can pick it up. So after work, I picked it up and drove it home. The truck still had the same problems. I drove it back to the shop on July 14th. The owner said the problem with the truck is further in my engine and would require more work. He said that if I leave it with him on July 15th, he would work the 15th, 16th and have it ready on the 17th. He apologized for the lack of communication. On the 18th, I called and asked for the status of it, the employees said the owner was not in the office for the day. I asked the employee if the truck had been worked on, the employee said no. When I called back 3 hours later, they said it was worked on and the employee just didnt know.. On the 19th, I called and the owner picked up the phone. He said that he was waiting for a tool to get deeper into the engine. He said Nissan engines were harder to work on. I asked him "If you knew you needed this tool, why are you telling me this on the 19th from me calling you? Why aren't you making efforts to call me" He apologized. I asked him for the name of the specific tool he was trying to get. He didn't know the name of it. After a couple hours, I called him and we agreed that I'd get my truck back to original and he'd refund me the money. On the 20th, I picked up my truck, my refund and I now have to start the whole repair process over with another mechanic. I've burnt over $700 in rental fees. I've inconvenienced friends for 'drop offs' at the place expecting to pick up the truck. And now after examining my truck, I noticed a scrape mark on my front right bumper. So in other words, I left carpro in worth shape than when I started. My co-worker is ashamed by even giving me that referral. Throughout the 20 days the truck was with Carpro, they have not made 1 outbound call to me. All communication has been initiated by me when they did not meet their own estimations. Horrible horrible service. If I had the time, I would consider a small claims court suit against them to recoup my rental car fees, the damage to my bumper and punitive charges. I will be reporting them to the BBB. Horrible.

In one instance, what was going to cost me 600 to fix, he did for 200. In another, I had taken my car to be fixed 3 times at another shop, he fixed in ONE TRIP. You can't call, he has no receptionist, and they rarely answer the phone. You have to stop by. They are a busy shop - so don't expect a speedy fix, but they will actually fix it the first time correctly for a LOT less than anyone else in town. I had an older car - which was breaking down constantly for one thing or another. He figured out the list and told me how long I could wait to address certain issues, helped me budget all the issues to get my old beater back into shape. My son drove it another 4 years before it had to go back to the shop for ANYTHING. I love Terri and his mechanics. They are always busy - and there is ALWAYS another day or three to wait from the estimate of time, but when it is finished he sticks to his estimate and he makes sure it was done right. I am a customer for life. Speaking of which, taking that beater in for one more band-aid today. First time in 4 years it has needed fixing. It just has to hold on a few more months! I don't take my cars anywhere else. As the the bad review. Sounds embellished. You can leave your car over night or drop it off first thing. You want a quick oil change? Go to jiffy lube. This is a mechanic. Not the same. Twice I have taken a car that they deemed a simple fix (once fixed it in 5 minutes) and used almost no mechanic time. They didn't charge me either of those times. That's honesty! Billy Lowry has got my business from here on out!

I got a diagnostic at NTB and they told me I needed an oil cooler replacement and a coolant flush…read more NTB sent the car to Billy Lowery Automotive to do the work which I paid $1.7k for, they worked on the car for 4 freaking days. Not sure why it took 4 full days to work on the car but they took that long which I had to rent a vehicle to take my kids to school, etc. I didn't let that be an issue even though it was, I was patient. Once I received the car back it starts making popping noises when turning the wheel and driving, the noise gets really bad at times and sounds like something is about to break off. Mind you, THIS NOISE AND ISSUE DID NOT EXIST BEFORE I received the car back. I even confirmed with NTB and their mechanics, which tested my vehicle and drove it prior to taking it to Billy Lowerys Automobile, that this noise and issue was not an issue and was non existent before taking it to Billy Lowerys Automotive. I took it back to NTB and they sent it back to Billy Lowerys, who took 4 freaking hours just to find the noise that NTB found in less than 30 minutes, I called them for an update on my car and I was told they would call me back since every single person there was on a 1 hour lunch break. after another 2 hours I call NTB and they tell me they have my car back?! so they didn't even have the professionalism to call me back the guy that owns the vehicle and paid for everything. Billy Lowerys told NTB that it was "wear and tear" on my driver side lower control arm and strut and that they both needed to be replaced. I don't understand how the lower control arm ALL OF THE SUDDEN has wear and tear while it was parked and being worked on? If the vehicle wasn't being driven around or nobody was joy riding my freaking car then there shouldn't have been any change in my lower control arms condition. Even common sense can tell you that. Why would the lower control arm suddenly mess up while its parked? CLEARLY Billy Lowerys is a rip off and they will f*ck your car up either from joy riding or just to get more money out of you. It is not a coincidence that I got my car back f*cked up after paying $1.7K for the replacement of my oil cooler and coolant flush. That's insane. I would stay way clear of this shop unless you want your car to get f*cked up. The lady on the phone is also very rude and unprofessional.
