They told me that you guys had her I have for two weeks been emailing and calling and I finally just found out she was adopted. I begged the people to call the new family that was adopted because, she's animal. I need her. I will pay her back as what I told him and you know what they're not gonna do that for me. two weeks I waited she probably got adopted while I was trying to talk to someone. I'm heart broke. I couldn't leave the hospital. I was a victim of domestic abuse, and almost died just to get out and learn she's gone. These people ruined my life as I know it, and poor Daisy's life,

We saw Micah and loved him the minute we met him. The foster was very upfront about his behavior and what he did and didn't do. His foster said he was good aggressive as he was. We make sure if family is over with their dog that they both don't get food at same time. We did a home visit through FaceTime. We really enjoyed all the people that we met. I'm so glad we found him. He means everything to our family. We just love him lots. I'm so glad they saved him.

We were told by the…read morefoster that we would get a follow up from someone in the foster as well as a medical record, proof of purchase, and coupon for a nearby pet store, but we never did. Anytime we had a question we had to reach out to the rescue. We never had to go through a home evaluation or anything like that which we thought was strange but moved on since we already had our new baby. By Friday morning Macy started throwing up which we thought was just a food change or anxiety from being away from her sibling. Saturday she was doing better so we didn't think much of it. By Sunday morning she couldn't keep anything down so we decided to rush her to the nearest ER. We called the rescue because our poor Macy had parvo. We were told there was another vet that could give her a shot and fluid for around $250 but we were paying the same amount so we stayed at the hospital we were at. We began home treatment but her little body could not fight the disease on her own. On Monday she was getting worse so I called the rescue which referred us to the Banfield hospital inside the Frisco petsmart, but they were unable to help so I rushed her to a hospital in Garland for treatment. Macy unfortunately passed away after fighting for her life around 5:30 am Tuesday morning. I was not informed of her passing until 10:30 am after calling the hospital multiple times for an update. I was also unable to get her body for cremation as the city picked up the body. We were told that we would get our adoption fee back and we could choose a new dog if we wanted. When we told the rescue that we didn't want to bring another puppy into our home because the virus can live for over a year. We did express that we would like our adoption fee back as we had spent over a thousand dollars within her short 5days of living with us. The rescue no longer answered our calls or replied to our text messages. I wish I could say that we had a great experience like many of the others have but honestly the entire experience has left a sour taste in my mouth about purchasing a dog from a rescue. I just wish we still had our baby girl but we were blessed to get to love her for those short 5 days!

Our personal experience has been great both times! The doctors have always been caring & compassionate, and didn't make us feel like "crazy cat people" running to the vet at the first sneeze. The price was also reasonable -- we spent less than $100 at both visits for basic exam & medication. Our most recent appointment was on New Year's Eve, which was very convenient so our sick kitty didn't have to wait 2 more days to receive treatment! Love Village East. UPDATE 11/8/15: We had to finally take the 3rd cat in for something, and still had a great experience. Even though there wasn't anything wrong and we were just being paranoid pet parents, Village East made sure to explore the possibilities without charging us an arm & a leg. They even complimented us on our cat's name (Falkor) saying, "That's an awesome name for a cat." Love this clinic and will continue to use them whenever we need to (although, hopefully that won't be very often!)

You're able to come in & look in the cat different cats they have available. They have a sign in sheet to make sure that people don't steal the animals. I think that has happened in the past. They also have cameras outside because they have an animal dumping issue. They recently redid the cat room & took the cages out & made it a room for the cats to jump around on cat shelves. You can tell they really care about the animals here. The shelter takes cats & dogs to the PetSmart in Owensboro on Saturday mornings for people to see the animals & adopt from there as well. He has been the best dog I've ever had. Couldn't ask for a better temperament. I just wanted to let you know the results from his exam and bloodwork. His vet says all his joints are in great shape, and he has a really nice low resting heart rate. She also says he has a remarkable set of lab results. Everything was perfect and in fact, impressive for an older dog, more like a dog half his age. I really just wanted to let you know how great he is doing and that we appreciate all the hard work you put into raising healthy dogs. FYI, we did get a second puppy from you when Molly and Noah were bred again. She's doing awesome also. Thanks!!

Needless to say, I LOVE my kitty, but since this is a review of the shelter, not my cat, I will try to keep the fact that WE LOVE OUR KITTY out of it. :) This shelter is fairly small compared to others I've been to. It's one of the cleanest ones I've ever encountered-- very few dog cages with piles of poop in them and the cat boxes were all clean and tidy. It's obvious that the shelter doesn't have much money-- there is no vet in-house and both the cats and dogs have fairly small cages. The tiny dogs and puppies fair a little better and at least have a blanket or something to curl up on. When we were looking at both the cats and dogs, very few notes were given about the animal, but they were very nice about letting us take out whatever we wanted to play with. When we adopted, we were shocked to learn that they let the animals leave the shelter without being spayed or neutered! Wow! That goes against everything I assumed about shelters, but hey, we got our cat, and I am happy. She was given food and a place to sleep while she was there, although she came out with fleas, ear mites, round worms and giardia (but it's likely she came to the shelter with most, if not all of that). Still, they get an extra star for all the hard work they put in and working with what they've got-- it's not an easy job to see all these animals everyday, I am sure. The fact that they don't ask you any questions about what kind of pet parents you might be speaks, I think, to a level of desperation on their part just to have anyone willing to take one of these furry friends home. I am not someone who would ever, EVER buy a dog or cat when there are so many at the shelter-- there are too many animals in need to even think about it. But there will be some start-up costs if you choose to adopt from here and I would recommend taking your new family member to the vet *immediately* to get checked out (ours was at the vet within hours). Even with the costs considered, there is something about getting a pet from a shelter-- somehow they know you've rescued them-- and they become the most loving, loyal, sweetest companions you'll ever have.

I called Momma up with the good news and I personally wasn't able to go there with her for her to claim her fur baby. Whoever I spoke to on the phone seemed like a decent person. Howver when momma arrived- she spoke to someone who was hateful while claiming she didn't think the cat was actually hers. Momma came in everyday while the cat was suffering, no bath, cage filthy, her cat crying for her and reaching out, this cat acted like he belonged to her and she knew it was her baby. They said for $110 she could adopt this cat but couldn't becauS he was in quarantine. This cat was not in quarantined. Her cat vanished when he ran out the new home at the beginning of July and was found 2months later near the landfill on north side. Hey- maybe fireworks scared cat into one of the many dumpsters next to the apartments/ office buildings. He was so starved and dehydrated. He looked sick and from what was said- no medicine given but flea treatment. Filthy cages and flea treatment (poison) on a starved dehydrated animal and momma begged them each day to let her cat come home with her so she could take him to a vet and back home. My impression is the woman I spoke with each day on the phone (I worked in Boonville from early morning til way after they closed or I would have been there myself) but yes my impression is the woman on the phone with me had her hands tied. After days of this, my momma's sister came in town to speak to them herself and was able to take this fur baby out of the filth, with momma to a vet and he was able to come home where his dog friend recognized him and where he died the next day at home. Maybe maybe if the foul woman had let him go home and see a Dr on this first day or the 2nd day maybe he would be alive and on way of healing. To say his being quarantined and ask $110 to adopt your baby and he's not quarantined, yah he looks different from photos- he's been gone and starving for two plus months. His marking are the same, his voice and mannerisms were the same. It appears real shady, real shady perhaps that needs to be looked into- is that woman pocketing money?? But the real curse is that this poor animal finally saw his momma and cried and watched her leave him behind for days while he suffered. I am in no way damning the whole crew at this facility and it's important to have- there needs to be a standard of cleanliness and accountability and a look over on currant protocol because this is beyond unacceptable, it's an unneeded heartbreak because some nut decided to have a power trip and deeply hurt others in her actions.
