They change their phone number and do not answer phone calls. This center ruined my child's summer and put my family in serious financial hardship as we were forced to find new childcare without receiving a refund. Do not use this center and do not pay via Zelle to the owner or manager. The manager Sheila Ziari is dishonest and does not operate in good faith. There is a one star because you cannot leave a review with zero stars.

I picked my child up at their urging on the day the DOH shut them down...only for them to reopen three weeks later for two days and then the DOH shut them down again. They owe me $1,600.00 for August's tuition and, after several sob stories and "please give me more time, I don't have your money", they (both the owner and her daughter) are now ducking all of my calls, voicemails,, emails and text messages. As a mother and parent, I advise you to please not send your children here. They play the part of concerned and caring very well but it's just an act and if this is their MO, I imagine they'll be out of business very soon.

Classes were small enough that all students received individual attention and the teachers made every effort to ensure the student body would be ready for the high school years that were fast approaching. In terms of size, each grade one through eight had enough students that there were two classes for each grade level, so perhaps fourty children per grade. Life was quite enjoyable as a student at OLM as I attended classes with many of the kids I grew up with in the Forest Hills area. Homework and some classroom work could be done collectively, pranks were sprung occasionally. The dress code was shirt and tie for the boys from the from first grade eventually dress jackets made their way into the required daily wear. This set a nice precedent for our future in the professional world and it was really no extra effort to gear up into our daily regalia. English and math were the strongest subject areas in OLM's curricula in my opinion, not to suggest science, history or any other subjects were lacking in any way. But once in high school, I felt I had a excellent foundation and a bit of a better start on other students from other schools. As it was a Catholic school we had events during a portion of the school year, like the May Crowning and a few others. The Sacraments of communion and confirmation although preformed in church, were learned about in school. It was not called theology, perhaps it was called religion, the name is currently evading me. Children grew through and thrived in their Our Lady of Mercy years in academics, Catholic faith and very close bonds with friends. In fact my friends in grammer school are my closest friends today, some twenty eight years later.

Greetings Fellow Yelpers!…read more Since my last review of The Mary Louis Academy (TMLA), I have been personally visited by faculty members of the school on more than one occasion and although I do not appreciate how I was spoken to, I no longer hold so much anger for the events I experienced. Surely things have improved, so it's time for a friendly update! (If my visitors are reading this, no...you didn't scare or intimidate me... I'm just not angry anymore.) My own experience at TMLA was negative and humiliating. But I cannot imagine that the issues that were present years ago could continue to slip by unnoticed. Although my time at The Academy did not benefit me, there are many others who did find it helpful. Eventful and informative open houses are held at least once a year and visiting parents and students have a chance to speak with EVERYONE. My advice is to pay very close attention and to simply ask the right questions. Wishing students, parents and faculty the very best! Good Luck!
