Removal of grass and capping of irrigation in that area 2. Grading the slope to level 3. Install turf with proper drainage and durability 4. Run electrical from our outside breaker to outlets at both ends of the cage 5. Erect the cage The cage materials I bought through BCI: http://www.battingcagesinc.com/batting-cages/packages/commercial-packages/premium-42-kvx200-package-deal.html. The cage shown in this link is the 35 foot cage. I choose the 70 foot cage as I had the perfect amount of room for it. The first company I engaged was a turf company called XGrass. After several weeks following up, the person that came out to my house apologized and said they wouldn't be able to make any money off our project. If you want full service do not call them. I tried another company after that but the owner wasn't able to come out because his truck broke down. I finally found a company that was up to the challenge. Synthetic Turf Solutions did an outstanding with the entire project. I knew with my requirements this project would be expensive. The owner, Ken Pool, listened to what I wanted and proposed a few design changes that fit my needs and saved me money. For the crew that removed the sod, I had a chance to observe their work. It was so hot out but they worked quickly. I bought them lunch and talked to them for a bit. They were really good / caring people. After the grass was removed Ken called me about an issue where the batting cage instructions called for 2 foot concrete footings to support the vertical poles. This spec presented us with a challenge that left us about 1 1/2 short in width. Ken gave me a few options and I told him to use his best judgment but that I didn't want any structural compromise. Their solution worked perfectly. The job took about 2 weeks but it would have taken less time if it wasn't the middle of August. The rain was relentless. For the electric work, I ended up using them to do some recessed lighting in my family room as well. They get a top rating from me for earning my complete trust and executing a job well done. In the end, he claimed he was giving me a better deal, but he increased my patio's measurements so he could charge me more. I requested a written agreement, but instead he showed up at my place with workers and materials and started working, even demolishing my fire pit, despite me clearly telling him that the project could not start without everything written and accepted by both sides. They continued working anyway, which made it very difficult for me to retract. As the project went on, he kept changing the rules. Everything he had promised vanished, and instead of enjoying my patio transformation, it became a horrible, daily fight. In the end, I received a mediocre job at best. They left all the debris behind because, according to him, "it belongs to me." They killed the grass in my front yard by leaving cement, debris, heavy bricks, and other materials on it for three days--not to mention the condition they left my driveway in. He even said that he "is not responsible for cleaning my house." He repeatedly claimed that he made no profit from this job and constantly made me feel like he was doing me a favor or giving the work to me for free. The way he treats his employees is horrible. They are the ones doing the hard work, yet he does not value them as they deserve. I am still waiting for him to fix my patio, and I will be posting updates.

They meticulously chipped out the old plaster around the perimeter and outlet ports, then plastered the pool with the color I selected. What started out an excited project in the fall of 2024, hyped my Felipe's "what's up" IG videos…read moreand all the great looking projects on the Dreambuilders IG pages, I became blind to the many red flags I should have seen , yet felt I was paying a premium for what I saw on social media and the in person chats when I visited the showroom. I looked past some of the bad reviews over the 5 star ones and felt, "oh this can't be real and just a one off thing, especially with all the amazing videos on social media". Nope was wrong. Our first mistake in all of this was thinking what we signed when in Oct 24 was a contract, NOPE it was just an invoice. That was a big red flag we should have noticed and ran away. First off, when discussing everything, everyone was warm, welcoming, and just excited about the project etc. things seemed to be great. Once I paid the half of the project that's when things just got weird. Texts/calls/emails seemed to get slower and slower responses. After paying in Oct of 24, it took till Mar 25 for permitting to be completed. Now I will give them the benefit of the doubt here since a prior project done in my backyard, the company didn't pull permits and Dream builders did work with combining both permits. Still communication was like pulling teeth trying to get updates on when permitting was completed or if a problem arose. It actually took calling the permitting department to see what the delays were about. After that long delay, shovels were in the ground in Mar25. For some odd reason building the pergola, they decided to put down the travertine pavers down first then dig the holes for the footers. Yup that didn't work, rains hit causing holes dug to be flooded and caused erosion issues. What should have been a project done in a matter of a month or two, pushed all the way to the end of April 2026. Yes you read that right. A YEAR from first shovel in the ground to completion. Issues with the original pavers (travertine) that was put down without a sand base caused horrible discoloration (even had two paver companies recommended to us come out, and both said the install was done incorrectly and shocked it was taking so long to complete. Even offered to come back after the project was done to fix any issues). Gaslighting by Felipe "Mr what's up guy", assured he knew what he was doing and it was the excess moisture in the yard/dirt that was too blame causing issues but alas would replace the travertine with other pavers. Ok fine, but never got proof of cost differences like an invoice, just a text of difference. The timeline being pushed to almost a year and a half from signing/first payment, limited us to really putting our foot down to get things completed. Just became a battle month after month on workmanship/quality. Now I'm sure Felipe will just counter saying I was being unreasonable or not realistic, but I have all the texts, pics, videos, emails to show what was going on throughout the build. Just look at all other bad reviews. They are all consistent in their issues. Let's discuss examples Workers leaving trash in the footer holes, and filling them up with concrete. Warned 3 separate times, cutting aluminum pieces in the grass leaving endless shards in the grass/not picking up after. Excess concrete and grout dumped in areas of the yard. Now it's Sept26 and we see that our pergola lighting randomly came on in the middle of the night and won't turn back off. Only way to turn them off is by shutting off the CB from the main electrical panel. Now warranty calls/texts go unanswered/ghosted. Website is gone, blocked from commenting on their IG etc Now let's make the record clear, yes the pergola isn't perfect or an exact of the drawings, and will be a good addition to our backyard. I regret ever seeing the dream builders IG posts and feel a different company could have done a better overall job in every way in a quicker timeframe and probably cheaper. Alas that is my fault in believing and blinded by the hype on their social media while not doing my complete due diligence. Stay away from anything associated with Dreambuilders, Felipe, or any future company he might come up with. It's not worth the hype.

We attempted to cleaned out the existing drains but the problem persisted. During heavy rain storms and the arrival of Hurricane Irma, we realized we had a major problem. (Note to homebuyers: ask current homeowners if they have any drainage problems. The previous homeowners never mentioned there was a drainage problem and nothing was listed in the inspection report). The drainage problem did not start when we bought it in August 2017, it was a problem that was ongoing for a long time. After meeting with several companies, I decided to go with John Madison Landscaping. We are very pleased with the outcome and the problem has been resolved, thanks to John and his crew. (BTW, when the old drainage system was removed it was 100% clogged and the pipes were not joined together). A new drainage system was installed and Genelle (great employee) did an outstanding job overseeing the project, along with the crew. They suggested several modifications to the drainage situation, which helped in correcting the problem and making the area look much better, especially with new pavers. John and his team did an outstanding job and I highly recommend them for any landscaping or drainage needs.
