We wanted to be home to make certain that the ground underneath was tilled or scraped and then top soil spread prior to installation of the sod. We paid for upgraded Scott ProVista St. Augustine sod from Duda & Sons. A few weeks later, after noticing that the grass was turning brown in spite of proper watering, someone from Hogan came and lifted the sod in a few locations and told us that the sod was not taking root and was brown on the underside. We have called repeatedly and asked that someone come and explain what they can do to fix the issue. They've promised that a manager would come out (never happened). Technically they have completed all of the tasks listed in their contract, sod follow-up inspection (this is when the inspector told us the sod had not rooted), irrigation management, follow-up visit by spray tech to apply preventive insecticide and nutrients to develop roots but the grass is still yellow/brown/dead after 5 weeks. We have had ample rain and watered repeatedly Additionally, the sod was installed in such a way that we are unable to open our gate and have asked that they fix that as well. Now they are refusing to take and/or return our calls.

The original quote also had the exact job written on it. I start my 8+hour drive home and make it there by 10:30 am. No one is here! No one answers the phones. No one returned my voicemails! I am livid! Exhausted from my drive, leaving behind a family emergency to have this tree work taken care of. Disgraceful customer service. If any of the "owners" would like to contact me. Having just purchased a vacant lot in the city of Edgewood, we wanted to get a head start on…read morepreparing the land for new home design. Although the vacant lot was mostly clear, we had several sizeable decaying laurel oaks, camphors, and tall queen palms to remove still. One of the large laurel oaks had fallen against a beautiful live oak that was *not* to be harmed. Also, the two trees were near power lines as well, making for a tricky removal. I contacted several tree services that had arborists on staff since our city requires a tree removal permit requiring an arbor report. Most of the arborists I met we friendly, but only one was *clearly* outstanding and won our business immediately (we didn't even get all the quotes yet). Sometimes you just have a "gut" feeling that this is the company you want to go with, and Steve Ogden from Central Florida Arborcare was our man. Steve is an incredibly friendly and knowledgable arborist that emanates the feeling of trust. I had read many great reviews about CFA, and they have been around a long time. Now on to the job! Removing trees (properly that is) takes a bit of pre-work as well. Many cities go to great lengths to protect the landscape in their boundaries and rightfully so. CFA made it easy to obtain the proper permits and approval from our city, and this is the advantage of choosing a service that has a full-time arborist aboard as permitting required an arbor report. A week later, the crew arrived fully prepared with all the different trucks and equipment to handle the job correctly. The team was amiable and quickly established the feeling that they were there to do the job requested and process any requests. I made sure not to micro-manager (please, don't do that), and in return, I felt like I was part of the crew. It was a big job, but they handled it perfectly! I'm sure a couple more trees will need to trimmed or removed on once the house plans are complete, and I *WILL* be using them! Lastly, I want to thank ALL the people I got to work with at CFA, including Steve, Sheila, Cassidy, John, Lee, and the rest of the crew that were so busy that I didn't get their names (sorry). Please make sure to call CFA for an estimate. You won't be disappointed!

I can't say enough about Central Florida Arbor Care!…read more This weekend a 50 ft oak fell in our yard, on Monday morning we called and the owner, Steve, came out to do an estimate within an hour of us calling He gave us an INCREDIBLE quote (over $1k cheaper than other estimates) and the following day sent a crew to do the work! We had them remove 3 dead, but still standing trees, the fallen tree and an additional dead limb that was looming over our home. They chipped all the brush, cut the trees for fire wood, raked the entire yard, used a blower to clean the driveway and really left our property in beautiful shape!! They're a Christian owned company and carry $5million in liability and workman's compensation so no risk to the homeowner. I also love that they didn't try to up sell us any unnecessary services, but instead listened to our concerns and addressed our needs. I'll definitely be using them again in the future!

I've reported them to city code. During the winter months they don't pick the leaves up, they blow it all in the streets. Throw small branches and laid them on my neighbors lawn. Until I realized how exhausting lawn upkeep on a large property can be. Once a week, for hours, I would push mow, pick up debri, cleanup, and that wasn't including edging or bush trimming. I have a manual labor job full time during the week. More labor on the weekend just wasn't for me. Nations has done nothing but provide excellent, excellent service. And are very affordable considering all of the service we get. Once a week their guys come out and service our property. Mowing, edging, cleanup. They also trim any bushes and clean those up as standard practice. We have a very large bougainvillea on the edge of our front lawn. If it isn't maintained, it easily engulfs the sidewalk. Nations includes the trimming of that extremely large bush as standard practice! They trim right along the sidewalk so it doesn't block it, and every so often, trim it off the ground about a foot. Another great service is the fact that Steve answers simple text messages. If my wife feels she wants our palm tree or crepe myrtles trimmed (which, of course, are an added service), she simply texts him, which he responds to in a timely manner, and the trees are trimmed the following service. The crews that tend our lawn are almost always on time with their service. Typically the same day every week, with the exception of bad weather or holidays, in which they still make it out the next day. They always do an excellent job with our lawn. Professional job and professional clean up. Listen to this, this is how great their crew is: Our palm tree is next to our drive way. Our driveway is composed of brick. During parts of the season, the palm tree drops a ridiculous amount of seeds. Seeds the size of walnuts. These walnut sized seeds land on the brick, and wedge themselves in betweem the cracks of the bricks. These are a pain to get out. I usually have to individually fish them out they get so mashed in from driving on them. Brooming or kicking them usually doesn't clear them. Yet somehow, someway, Nations crews gets ALL of them off my driveway. ALL of them. Its as if they never fell off the tree in the first place. I love it. Today they impressed me yet again. It had rained a better part of the afternoon. I got home just before five pm. It had just finished raining. And this Nations crew STILL showed up at the same time and did the job in a professional and timely manner. Didn't cut corners to beat the rain or avoid getting wet. And still left my yard looking gorgeous despite it being a wet and overcast day. Seeing as how it was the end of the day, I should have offered them a few beers for their troubles.
