This is a must if you love a thrill and need an adrenaline rush!! For a half an hour of fun while in Sydney, you have to try the Shark Attack Thrill ride and do be prepared to get soaked. An adventurous ride and if you have a GoPro camera or a waterproof camera, bring it. For starters, the ticket is quite pricey at $75 for an adult and $45 for a child under 16. However, they do offer discounts for larger groups and you can always purchase the iventure card and it will be one of the attractions/activities that you can choose to do. So glad I did. Once you arrive at the Circular Quay, where you'll set off, you will have to leave all your belongings in a trunk they lock up and put on a parka that is honestly quite useless because it soaks up about 90% the water. Shoes also must be taken off. Luckily, I brought along a plastic poncho to wear underneath. Always be prepared:p Before the ride commences, the driver will teach you a few hand signals to indicate "ok" or "spin" so that you can be prepared for a spin. They'll also remind you of a few safety precautions. Just in case. Then you set off circling the entire Port Jackson! An extreme adventure experience, especially with my boyfriend at the time. We were all soaking wet. The closer you are to the end of the jet ski; hey it is expected; the more wet you are going to become. I think off hand the experience went for around 45 minutes or so and there was a safety demonstration beforehand; and the opportunity to put on your rain gear; despite that you feel oh so soaking wet at the end, even if you aren't; this is the fun of this experience. Love it how the sequence is mixed up. One minute you are drifting along Sydney Harbour, and then upping the ante up to a normal pace; of which these moments are definitely short lived; and then hang on tight your heart starts beating (could it have skipped a few beats? who knows for sure) and the adrenalin action happens where the boat picks up the pace to the extreme; making the ferries look tired in comparison, and it spins and slides where you can feel so incredible and seriously pumped and a bit wet; well your hair at least anyway. But what makes it a thrilling and adventurous fun place is a Jet Boat Ride. The Shark attack thrill ride by Oz Jet boating runs every half hour from the eastern pontoon. They provide you with raincoats as you're sure to get wet! The fun starts when you sit in the jet boat, they teach you the different hand signals for "Ok" and "Not ok" and my favourite the "Spin". This motion indicates that they are now about to do a 260 degree spin in the water! All though it starts slow, the Jet boat picks up (jet)speed immediately as it leaves past the Opera house. From then on, it races pasts boats, kayaks, ferries and sails towards the mouth of Sydney.. Then they 'spin' starts and not once but more than 3 times you're 'bout to be splashed with water! It is incredibly fast and fun! Along the way they do point out different attractions that make Sydney so beautiful. Went here a few days ago with some coworkers and it was a blast. The captain is friendly and safety is his #1 priority. Don't be fooled by the price, you can ALWAYS haggle down to $50 a person instead of the $75 advertised. I've stopped by numerous times throughout the year asking about the price and it's always the same "well it's $75, but we're doing a special for $65, but if you want to do it today I can do it for $50." Great time though. The boat is awesome, you get super wet so bring a change of clothes. You can be the "COOL" guy and not wear a poncho, but be aware, you will be placed in the part of the boat that gets the wettest ;) Def try this out if you have the chance! read more

If you are looking for a fun, amazing and unique way to experience Sydney Harbour then this is for you. We had a great time and it was a great 30 minutes spent laughing, screaming and getting soaked through. You wear a long spray jacket and life vest and you think the spray jacket will protect you from most of the water but you realize pretty quick that the water proof jacket is just for show and that's part of the fun. It's not until you are waiting to get on the boat and the people getting off the boat are soaking wet that you know that you're in for the thrill of a lifetime. The jet boating experience is hard to explain to people without grinning from ear to ear. Twists and turns and nose dives send water spraying in every direction and within minutes you are soaked and not caring one little bit (even though it was a freezing day and we realized we really hadn't thought this through). Highly recommend anyone who loves new and different experiences should try this. The ride is video taped throughout and photos are taken as well and you can purchase them afterwards. read more
