Mind you we visit many, many, many taco shops across Southern California, Tijuana, Ensenada and Mexicali. Of all those, this does take the top spot as of today. We used to go to a tried a true taco shop elsewhere in Mexicali, but it had been shutdown for some time and on our return it just wasn't the same. We came to Fuerte based on the recommendation of many in our family, and it did not disappoint. We had the carne asada tacos, which is what you need to get here. We did also try the quesadillas, but beyond that we just dove into the carne asada tacos. Tortillas were great and made on site. The carne asada was tasty and full of flavor, and the condiments they lay out all added to our delicious midnight meal. We liked the carne asada tacos so much we didn't get to try anything else.
