The place REEKED of cat urine. They didn't sweep or mop the floor, nor did they clean the carpets, scrub the shower, or even remove all the previous tenant's belongings. Broken furniture had been left on my doorstep, plus I found a used pad and a sock underneath the upstairs bathroom sink, a pair of shorts in my dresser, a shirt in the drier, ancient halloween decorations on the windows, plastic stuck on the bottom of the dishwasher, a fork in the sink disposal, scissors in the couch cushions, a pair of blue light blocking glasses somehow in one of the floor vents. There were scads of dead bugs EVERYWHERE, and I found a good number of very-much-alive spiders, too. In the kitchen, there was grease all over the cabinets near the stove, and the sink had a thick layer of grime all around the drain. Upon moving in, I had to deep clean the place myself. The floor was so filthy that I had to mop it 5 TIMES to get the dirt off, and I spent hours scrubbing old soap scum off of the shower walls. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the cat urine smell out of the carpet.
I filed a formal complaint, but I should have taken legal action, because nothing ever ended up happening. I didn't get any compensation for my inconvenience.
Wanna know more? Well, not only was I hit with this horrendous experience on move-in day, but I also barely slept during the entire 4 months I lived here, because the walls are so incredibly thin. Despite my neighbors being relatively quiet & very kind, I could hear them whenever they showered, flushed the toilet, cooked, did laundry, or walked up the stairs. Worse, I could hear all of the street noises all night long, and there were some jerks in town who liked to race down nearby roads revving their engines as loudly as possible.
DO NOT move into this place. The literal only upside of my entire time there was that each apartment guaranteed 2 parking spaces.
BTW, Ox West, don't bother replying. I moved out & I'll never, ever be returning.
