Genny and Jada, the leaders of the centre, are superbly organized, communicate well and have a love, care and patience with the children that I can only hope to emulate as a parent. The staff are wonderful as well. They are well-trained and experienced, watchful and caring. Our child was in Doreen and Stephanie's class, and we could see her positive social and language development grow in leaps and bounds. They also potty trained our toddler and gave us daily updates on their activities. The ELC has a structured program for the children with age-appropriate activities, and meals/snacks are provided. But most of all, they developed in my child the habit of praying for each other and getting to know God. I am so thrilled that we found their early learning centre; it takes a village to raise a child and I'm so glad ELC was a part of it! (Side Note: If you are interested in enrolling your child at the People's Christian Academy for grade school, the children attending their ELC have preliminary access to register for the spots available before it is opened to the public.)

She seemed okay and I liked the school because it was an accredited Montessori. So I wanted to enrol my child as soon as possible. She told me that she will let me know if there was any available space for Jan. she told me to call a week after the interview and I did, she said she still doesn't know what's going on and to give her some more time so I gave her another week and called her and she said she still had no clue what was going on and she would call me as soon as she finds out. Anyways long story short, I had called her 4 times and left 2 messages she never returned any of my calls. Which I find is very UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE!! If you run a proper Montessori school which parents would like to enrol there children and pay you to teach them, wouldn't you at least have the common curtsey to call a parent back and let them know what's going on ? She never called me back. If she can't call you back on a simple yes or no answer that shows me she is not running a proper Montessori school that I would like to enrol my child in. So I definitely do not recommend this school for any parent. There are many out there and I would like to enrol my child in one where they care rather then not care!

We are extremely grateful that we came across this school. With the hard and diligent work of the…read moreteachers and therapists, our children have made great progress. When we started the school, our children did not even speak English, not to mention the lag in their overall development. We expected some progress, but what the teachers achieved exceeded all our expectations. They not only worked on our children's fine motor skills and behavior, but they managed to teach them letters, numbers, basic reading skills and mathematics - things that we thought would be possible much later in time. We are especially impressed that in I Am Smart S-Cool, in parallel with the therapeutic work, there is a lot of emphasis on academic learning. In many of the specialized schools that we had previously considered, the academic material was quite abbreviated (due to the reduced expectations for children with special educational needs). In I Am Smart S-Cool, however, the teachers are very dedicated, work with great patience and love, and manage to unleash the children's potential. The children feel the love and care, and this creates peace and security for them. Whenever a person enters the school, a calm working atmosphere is heard. We are very impressed by the principal and all the teachers and therapists at the school. By their hard work, their patience, their tireless care and professionalism in teaching. For all of them, this is not just a job, but a calling.

My daughter will be graduating in June and it makes me sad to leave this wonderful community. Teachers My kids have had Miss Illuminata for a total of four years, and she is amazing. She is both academically strong in teaching, (phonics, to support early reading, cursive, writing, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing) and is compassionate and sees the whole child so each student feels valued. All of my children's teachers have been outstanding. As a secondary educator myself, I have always been happy with Great Lakes Montessori. ECEs in the classroom , Ms Franca and Ms Alinda are excellent. French Mme Rita is a retired French elementary teacher who is super qualified in her post supporting French Language. Music Ms Lee is an excellent pianist and music teacher. She plays at each graduation and event. The kids love her! Bad experience! My son (1.5 years) was at this daycare part-time for almost 1.5 months…read more From the day two, we noticed neither my son nor his teacher (Sahar) was looking forward to seeing each other in the mornings. There were many mornings I had to stay and wait at the doorstep simply because Sahar was pretending she was busy with something, turning her back to the door as soon as she could see me and my baby boy coming down the hallway. And mind you that, these are the mornings I had to rush to go to work while dropping off my baby on my way to the office! On one occasion when I dropped off my child when I walked out of the room I heard my son screaming. I immediately looked back and noticed Sahar had hit my son's head to the shelf over his high chair and had proceeded to forcibly push my son into his high chair with anger. I went back to the room and helped her putting my baby in his high chair properly. That day I thought maybe she didn't have a good day so I let it go. I also tried to put my baby in his high chair every morning since after. On another occasion , my wife witnessed Sahar not being nice to our son when my wife went to the daycare to pick him up. Sahar did not notice my wife was watching her from behind the glass door! Bottom line is Sahar's attitude towards our loved one and us never changed. I never understood what Sahar's real problem was, but the truth is she was continuously upset to see us dropping off our baby at the daycare and she couldn't hide it. My son was at this daycare for 1.5 months and we never saw Sahar's smile. We expressed our concerns about Sahar to the supervisor(Shazia) but she said my son soon to be transferred to the toddler's room, therefore, she took no actions. From the second week, we started receiving calls from the daycare supervisor expressing concerns over the fact that my son doesn't eat by himself and doesn't walk. She got us really worried so we immediately took our son to see his doctor and his doctor thoroughly examined him and expressed absolutely no concerns over my son's motor skills. We offered to bring a doctor note to the daycare but the supervisor said she was only concerned and that there was no need for the doctor's note. The truth is that daycare supervisor was just preparing the ground for her next move. Keep reading! Towards the end of the first month, the supervisor contacted my wife and said she has found legislation that prevents her from keeping my son in the infants room, and some other legislation indicating that my son can't be accepted in the toddlers room either. We were shocked to hear this as it was never communicated to us. Basically, she asked us to stop bringing our child to her daycare! When we asked for her to refer us to the legislation or show us the existence of such information in the daycare's parents' handbook, she rudely refused to do so! Just to recap, we are in the process of filing a legal complaint with the ministry of education against the daycare and taking appropriate legal actions against Sahar. To us, Sahar could be anyone, but a child caregiver and we definitely don't recommend having your baby to stay with her nor with a daycare with such an unethical management style and lack of control over staff behavior. Another great example of a high price does not necessarily mean "high quality"!
