Large shopping centre (or "center" in American) on multiple levels with several dozen shops. All…read morethe usuals apply, including Boots, HMV, TK Maxx, etc. Several eateries have establishments here - Burger King, BB's Coffee and Muffins, Starbucks, Subway. They are attached to Vue Cinemas. The place completely indoors so no worries about the weather, though it was a little toasty today on the upper levels. Plenty of parking is available, which can be a little expensive depending. 6 hours was £10 today, though they do have special nights where parking is free after 5pm. Modern, clean, bright and airy. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Day of the dead Maybe its something to do with being under the castle, occupying the space where the dungeons usually are Or maybe it's just because all the decent shops upped and left to the swanky new place down the road. Whatever the case, Castle Mall will has an important place in the history of retail in Norwich. Main because it houses the city's main Post Office.

We tried to get into the Seafood Restaurant as walk ins but no luck, which is a pity as the menu looks excellent, from fish pie to caviar, and of course champagne. It is obviously very popular. Next visit to Norwich ;) There is a large selection of UK and foreign goods in the food department, along with a counter full of delicacies to temp you. I stopped by a gin tasting booth and it was interesting to try the different flavoured gins being sold. I wish I had more time to browse, especially in the arts department. Definitely worth a gawk and sample if you are in Norwich.

Also after visiting the Westfield Centre's in London and Stratford City, and seeing the possibilities that large centres have, Chapelfield seems to be losing ground fast. The new corporate look of 'intu' doesn't really work for Chapelfield. It needs a local identity that it had before the rebrand. What exactly is an 'Intu' and how does it make the centre better? The centre only being a few years old looks like it could do with a refit. The wood veneer seems very dated. Many of the original retailers have gone, being replaced with others that fail to fill the gap. Borders was replaced with a hardware store. Esprit with a Cafe Rouge. Seldom comes better I feel. The dining terrace offers nothing new, with a good portion of it with empty units. McDonald's, Pizza Hut, KFC and Spud-u-like are available in most towns and cities. Chopstix and Eds make a slight improvement. The better food outlets are outside the centre in the area adjacent to the main entrance. The two shoe shops seem to be relics of better times on the plain when the area was dedicated to fashion and not food. I feel the centre would be benefit if all the eateries were in one area, surely this is the purpose of a dedicated dining area. The centre seems to attract lots and lots of teenagers. This can be off putting when shopping. Especially when they just seem to hang around and sit on the floor on the dining terrace. The shopping centre leaks in places when it rains! The most annoying thing is when certain stores close early, whilst the centre is still trading. This is so disappointing when you have made a special trip to the centre and the centre is open and the store is closed. It rather defeats the object of late night shopping. A centre of this size needs to open much longer all year round. Many a time I have considered catching a train down to Stratford or the capital. Being right next door to Chapelfield Gardens I am surprised that the centre does not utilise this jewel of the city environment. Finally, car park fees are quite expensive.

Friendly staff will help you and often open to bargain for a discount. It's almost more of a market feel rather than a shop. They are located on a pedestrianized street close to Tesco Metro and are part of the Norwich lanes area. They are sandwiched next to a sandwich shop and the hair dressers formerly owned by a Big Brother contestant Craig.

This store has been at Norwich for as long as I can remember but I do not tend to shop in here as often as I do in other similar stores. I have noticed that their prices are slightly more expensive but during sales it brings their prices down to be about average. They have a very well laid out store and employ a few staff that on each floor that are always friendly, polite and willing to give you assistance if you need it.

Poor quality and terrible customer service…read more I bought a coat from Walkers for £250 and just over six months later the fabric is disintegrating in not one but many different places to the point that I cannot wear it. On contacting Walkers they have told me that neither they nor the manufacturer will accept it as faulty due to the length of time I have owned it. I believe that a price tag of £250 merits a garment that lasts longer than 6 months. They assured me that in the space of eight hours both they and the manufacturer had managed to contact and receive replies from every single customer that had bought the identical garment. They were able to tell me that none of them had had a similar problem. A true feat of efficiency but of no use to me. When I asked for further help they simply ignore my emails.

I asked a question that the young female should know the answer to in the appearel dept. I then went to pay for items, I didnt have anything smaller then a 20 pound note, my bill was under 8 plus 48p. I gave the cashier 20.50 because I didnt want lots of change and a higher note count. She was rude and condescending saying there was no point in me giving her 50p because she had to give it back. Ummm NO, I would have gotten higher notes plus 2p. I didnt want to cause a scene and say something so I carried on after got the change I didnt want. The staff need to get an update on how to be towards paying customers or get a different job.
