I truly can't find the words of appreciation...Valina has literally changed my life, I will forever be grateful, and her unwavering support. Valina's arsenal of highly educated resources of individuals with such a high level of desire to help others heal, is by far more superior than I've experienced. She has helped me realize trauma is not a blanketed experience, but rather an individual experience, that needs personal evaluation, and attention for proper healing...it's deeper work than I imagined but having Valina by my side trudging through it with me was exactly what I desperately needed. Truly a blessing to have found her read more

Velina is amazing! I wish I could give her 6 stars. Obviously her credentials speak for themselves- but where Velina truly excels is as a very insightful, honest communicator and mediator. She also has a network of amazing folks around her who truly excel in their own right. She successfully combines textbook psychology with a plethora of holistic and spiritual resources, using innovative solutions (which have all proven successful for us.) It's rather easy for folks to get their feelings hurt in marriage counseling, but Velina speaks with such tact, insight and consideration. She doesn't play favorites and any criticism is purely constructive with positive big-picture intent. Velina is also a skilled masseuse, a genuinely wonderful human being and she truly looks for the best in everyone. Whether it's stress, PTSD, marriage counseling, life coaching, couples massage, etc. Velina is essentially a one-stop shop for your physical and spiritual well being. I cannot recommend her highly enough! read more

I just left Velina feeling better than ever! Not only can she guide you to overcome hurdles in your life, she can bring life to the sore muscles you've been dealing with. I tore my acl and have been sore from the injury as well as the over compensation on the other leg. She used her healing hands to gently manipulated the muscles around my knees, and I felt like new! I am waking without pain! read more

I have been to a few different therapists in my life and I always felt that no matter how much they tried, they couldn't relate to me. When I have sessions with Velina, I actually feel like she understands me, knows what I'm going through, and honestly hears me. She has been extremely supportive of me and some difficult decisions I've had to make; like we all do. I would highly recommend her and I will definitely be going back. read more

I don't even know where to start since Velina has been nothing more than amazing, supportive, insightful, and a great coach! I have seen other therapists but Velina has definitely been the best.  Se has made me feel very confortable since the first time we spoke over the phone and she has always been a call or a message away. She helped me through a really rough separation and with all of her knowledge, care and resources she helped me get into a more peaceful stage helping me heal and undertand my traumas and myself.  Velina continues guiding me through my healing process and I can surely say that I am on a new and better place.  My husband and I were able to talk our differences through and are now working together with Velina and every time we have a session with her we leave her office peacefully and greatful because she sure is the best! read more

After meeting with Velina I felt very comfortable with her so I decided to continue seeing her. After just my first session I literally felt a huge weight off of my shoulders! She spoke to me about how I should look at things in my life and made me feel empowered. The breathing techniques that she taught me I use on a daily basis. I thank you Velina for helping me see the truth in myself and so does my wife and kids. I am much happier today and just by putting a smile on my face and saying thank you every morning has made my life so much better. read more

Edited: This is in response to Mark F below.. what ended coming out in therapy was that I was actually living in immense trauma because of emotional, financial, and sometimes even physical abuse. I was living with a total narcissist and Velina was able to help me get out of that and understand that my own children were suffering because of trauma from his abuse. He hid money while he knew I was completely broke. And when we split up my son ben was suffering and didn't understand why he wasn't loved as much as my youngest son and why dad didn't have picture up of him on his Instagram or at his work but did of his younger brother. He even said he didn't feel like dad was his dad. I had been struggling with telling him the truth and knew it was going to be time and knew it would help him understand. And didn't want to wait. Velina gave me insight to do so. I was scared to tell mark because of his violent behavior. I love that Velina checks in with my children to make sure they're doing ok and that if they need to talk to someone she is there for them. To me she goes above and beyond. And she does keep boundaries very clear. Mark is a very scary person and very in trustworthy person and what Velina did for my and my kids mental health saved me. And my kids. I'm sad that he could write such nasty things about someone who is so good at what they do for a living. I don't think i could possibly write enough about how much Velina has helped myself, my husband, our marriage, our parenting, and our children. My husband and I have been seeing Velina for about a year. We've had a lot of trauma and stress to say the least in our family. We had fallen in a deep dark hole. I had become very depressed and didn't think there was a way out. My children were suffering and our marriage was ending. Velina invested so much time and listened to us. She was able diffuse quick any dispute we had and turn it quickly into a compromise. We were able to connect find intimacy again. I was able to start working through my PTSD, grief, and depression and my husband was able to understand it better. My sleep is better. My stress is more manageable. My communication is better. My children are happier. My outlook is better. Not just mine but my husbands as well. I also know that if i am struggling, she cares and is a call or text away. She is genuine and a compassionate human that knows how to connect with oth read more

Velina has given my husband and me some FABULOUS and fun tools for connecting in more meaningful ways - massage techniques, intimacy/presence building exercises - and she's given us fresh perspectives to help us understand each other better as well as practical ideas to make day to day life less smoother and more fun as a family. Velina strikes me as a very empathetic person whose passion it is to help people, and in our case couples, live as free and joyfully as possible. Such a gift to have found her. read more

When I met Velina 2 years ago, I was on disability with little hope to manage my fibromyalgia and PTSD. Today, I am back at my physically demanding job, doing things I thought would be lost to me forever. She gave me new methods to help manage daily stress/triggers so I could feel empowered. She supported and encouraged me to develop my self care skills, and helped pick me back up when I would forget them. Unlike other healthcare professionals I had sought, Velina assured me that I wasn't broken and to not give up hope! I have been to multiple talk therapists over many years but she is the only one who has taught me skills to positively change my life and make more effective choices for myself. read more

Velina helped my significant other and I in many ways. We realized in our sessions that we were not connecting/understanding our personal feelings thus unable to communicate them to one another taking us into a bit of a rut after 6+ years. We would often agree to things we didn't want to do and then resent the other one for it. She has taught us how to better understand and connect with ourselves and that has translated into connecting/communicating better with one another. She has brought us closer and reminded us of the love we share. I appreciate her vast knowledge and her ability to listen and have compassion for those she meets with. She truly is a wonderful coach to have on your team and were so glad we didn't go to a traditional therapist that will charge you double and check their watch every 4 minutes. Definitely recommend her services for singles and couples! read more

Velina is a great healer of body and mind! I have RA and her attentiveness is a welcomed relief. Thank you !

A while ago I went for my first visit at Owl Wise Wellness, and liked it so much that I recently went back for another session with Velina. She is good & I give her a high recommendation. I just moved to Boulder a couple months ago. With a new job and a lot of outdoor activities, my body has been pretty stressed. I've been to Velina at YourStressManager twice, and she has really helped massage the tension out of my neck, back, and shoulders. She also does elder care and general stress management. If you've been a little stressed, or need a fresh start, I highly recommend stopping by and seeing if Velina can help you out. read more

I came in for a massage. I'm something of a massage junkie, so this was not my first rodeo! I have a few broken bones, and those areas tend to knot up and stay knotted up, even after massages. But Velina has a unique style where she combines a number of different techniques for optimal results. It's been a week since I saw her, and my omnipresent knots have not returned! I will be back for sure! read more

It is impossible for me to convey in a Yelp review how phenomenal Velina is at what she does. She has a truly unique ability to listen beyond words to identify core challenges. She meets these challenges with a broad offering of tools, resources, and knowledge. I have been provided with books, articles, movies, websites and YouTube channels, meditative practices, light and sound therapy, herbal supplement recommendations, workshop recommendations, and so much more in the few weeks I've worked with Velina. She speaks from a place of knowledge and provides scientific, medical, and spiritual references to her words. She counsels with understanding, empathy, intelligence, honesty, and lack of judgment. She is patient beyond measure, and works at the pace of her clients and their comfort level. Sessions are tailored to her clients' individual needs. This woman genuinely cares. She is humble, relatable and real. She goes above and beyond in so many ways, from affordable sessions with package discount options, to the numerous reference provisions noted above, to checking in via phone or text as needed, to flexibility of sessions when her schedule allows. Velina is a game changer. Go see her. read more
