Heritage Music is situated in the lovely market town of Brackley, Northamptonshire. The shop is the…read moreonly fully fleged music shop in Brackley, and therefore essential to the town and area. Its a great little shop, run by two big south african chaps who are always there and happy to help. I play the saxophone, and have often wandered in for a repair to a key or pad that needs mending, there is nowhere better in the area. They are always ready to mend it, and I usually get a 'come back in a hour of so and it'll be done for ya' comment. Prices are good for minor repairs too. The shop also has a big selection of instruments for sale, mainly pianos. The shop is a converted chapel, therefore it has the high ceilings and space for all these instruments! One thing I would say is that it isn't always clear whether the shop is open or not, often I have gone in and had to shout for anyone to notice I'm in the shop! there is a loud 'BEEP' when you walk in, but sometimes you are not greeted. This is a minor criticism however and should not detract from what is a valuable edition to the South Northants high street. Very highly recommended.

The staff were very patient with us as my Dad had a lot of quiestions (as we were about to spend a lot of money on a TV!), they didn't mind us being in there a while and pressing all the buttons! The staff seemed knowledgable about the products they were selling and when we decided on the set we wanted their was definitely 'wiggle room' - so the shop got a sale and we got the price we wanted! I recommend this place - even if it's just to check the quality before you buy online!

It is not really a large branch but apart from Zavvi which have now gone into adminsitration, it is the largest music store in the town. They always have a great range of sale DVDs and CDs which are displayed on the entrance to the store. The chart items are nicely displayed and they have a great range of back catalogue items too. The staff are very knowledgeable about the items they sell and are helpful if you are looking for items and the customer service at the checkouts is good too. If you are looking for music, DVDs or computer games then I would recommend this store as your first choice.

I rather like shops that sell sound systems and tv's and things. This one however is a bit too…read moresnooty for my taste. I mean I don't mind paying a bit more for good quality, but I don't like being spoken down to coz they think that because I walk in there in jeans and trainers I'm not going to be able to afford their over priced items. That's my other big issue with this place, the stuff is supposed to be really good and all that, but actually there are other products on the market that are better quality and have higher spec than these do and cost less, so half the time you're paying mostly for the brand name and that's not worth it in my opinion. One thing they do get right is that they have a room set up so you can see the tv's etc. from a sitting position which is nice. Gives you the chance to feel what they can do.

They also sell heating and lighting equipment, now I must confess to not buying anything from here other than my bulbs and I find there prices very high, but my mother in law tells me that you get what you pay for and that the quality of lightening he sells is great. I also like the fact they do many things for charity, and I like that about a business and this does make me want to shop there more as in some small way you feel like you are helping not only the store owner but also in return he helps others.(I do my fair share for charity so this is not just a justification ) They are based on church street just opposite the royal bank of Scotland. The gentleman whom works in the store and also owns the strore is great at advice, he not only will tell you the best product but if he does not have it in stock, he will order it or sometimes will even tell you where to go elsewhere in order to buy it. He wraps all his merchandise also when you buy it in protective wrapping which I think is great as some shops nowadays will just throw the stuff in a bag.
